It’s not about Jack, in my opinion.

You can side against Miranda if you want, is what I mean. You don't have to accept her point of view. But... her point of view is what it is.

I prefer the charm options. That way we don't have to make anyone pissy. Those feelings, as Shepard suggest, should be put off until the end of the mission.

It still doesn't make it right though.

Getting back to my original point, Miranda calling Jack a "mistake" in that moment is no better than when Ashley asks Shep if he's still into "real" people.

People can be b*tchy sometimes.

Well, sure. I don't have an issue with Ashley's line, personally. It's in-character. I don't agree with it, but... that's not a requirement.

Yep i think Ashley lines are perfectly in character. I think she's a pretty well written character just one i'm not fond of.

Any back pain she suffers will be resolved with a simple answer. Good genes. Strong back.

I jest of course.

I like this one more.

She wouldn't admit what cerberus did to Jack was wrong.

I mean, really?  She's the waifu of choice here, and awesome, but that's like those Penn St fans who still defend Joe Paterno...

Cerberus didn't do anything to Jack who, on the other hand, did a lot to them.
That is basically what Miranda is saying. Evidence was found that particular cell had gone rogue and TIM informed her he had shut down the project before Jack destroyed the lab. Miranda believes in a Cerberus that would not commit the kind of attrocities that happened in Pragia.
When asked politely, she will admit that cell was a mistake that needed to be repaired. Jack is just a psycopath who doesn't know how to act in a civilized manner.

Jack does learn to act in a civilized manner.

A true psychopath wouldn't be able to do that in the manner she does. Her behavior stems from years of abuse. She is more than capable of showing emotions and caring for others. By the time ME3 happens she's working in a stable position at Grissom Academy and cares very much for her students.

She and Miranda are similar, not in every way mind you, but in some.

I would use the word "violently anti-social".

Miranda and Jack are similar and opoistes at the same time.

Both grew up in very abusive environments; Miranda's being much more mentally and emotionaly abusive while Jack was all of the above and physically.

Jack also acts entirely on emotion. She doesn't admit it but she is driven by emotions. Miranda, on the other hand, acts on logic and cold calculus.

^ And both cause an inability to connect with certain aspects of society.

Imagine that.

On top of that, Both are strong female figures in very different aspects and don't change (at least, not in a negative or 'neutral' way) for anyone.

Jack cries if you sleep with her.

Pass.

Yes.

Shepard's influence changes both of them.

And depending on how you play you can interpret how they change a bit in that manner.

The way the romances pan out is also different depending on how you go about doing it.

Yeah i like Jack and her development in ME3 is interesting if you paragoned her in ME2. However don't think i ever want to import a renegaded jack and watch the disconnect as she goes off in the teacher route.

...So? That doesn't make her a weak character. Don't see what the issue is.

Also, one a prior Shepard, I accidentally locked in Jack without thinking (dropped the controller which selected the wrong dialogue options) and so I had to break up with her and....Yeah, its certainly a big difference which feels wierd, but so does having her do the Biotic Bubble too. I liked that very small character change. She calls you Commander. No malice, no sarcasm, no anger or resentment. She instead says it like that of a friend.

Shepard makes a lot of peoples lives better simply by being there. He improves Miranda's by being with her. He improves Jacks by being with her.

I don't know about Tali though.

But the same goes for FemShep as well. This isn't just a male thing.

Even his bros improve as well, Thane, Garrus, and in my case Steve, as my Shepard helps him get over the death of his partner.

That kind of influence changes lives.

Plus his influence keeps Steve from crashing the shuttle and dying at the end!

Somehow...

Doesn't even need to be a romance because Bro!Shepard reunites Thane with Kolyat and Thane's writer said that this is what makes Thane fearful of his death, not just Siha!Shepard.

Also, Jack develops as just a friend. Same with Miranda though, it feels like she moves a bit quickly to some extent.

In Tali's Romance, She keeps wanting to changer herself for Shepard and he tells her that he likes her just as she is. That's what I got from it anyways. There isn't a whole ton there on a singular character level for the second game. Her development is more cross series rather than only ME2 or ME3.

Garrus also matures a bit after his LM.

Mordin begins questioning his methods and can't look at things in Calculus anymore after his LM.

Jacob is..... erm....... : /

Gives him a reason to apprecieate life again. Similar to Thane in a way.

Persumably, if Shepard didn't talk to him, Steve didn't fight it when he gets hit at the end and accepted his coming death.

If Shepard talked to him, Steve fought harder for survival and landed safely.

Fair enough.  And I wasn't complaining that he survives (no LI should have to die unless they were dying when you met them), I just think the way it works out is a bit funny...
