It's not about importance at all. In fact, it's closer to the opposite. I'd rather bring back a squadmate that was somewhat minor to have more character development.

And honestly...I think I might have picked Samara.

And exactly what would Samara have to contribute, aside from absolutely nothing?

suicide.

I'd pick Miranda plain and simple. She would have contributed a lot. They just didn't think it seems. :(

Should I get a beret? I can't use this girls **** me pumps.

But I can tell you that it would have been interesting to see Samara's opinion on the Geth v. Quarian debate. The same with the Genophage.

I don't measure how good a character is by how much they push the central story along. Plenty of people here dislike Liara despite her importance to the story. And let's not get into a pissing contest of how much each character 'does.'

And there's ten options. Zaeed and Kasumi would be too much of a headache for too little benefit considering their DLC status. Thane is dying, and Jacob is far too unpopular. Mordin and Legion were handled very well, I thought, so I wouldn't change that. I don't think I'd pick Miranda or Grunt. And I was very happy with Jack's success and her solid reasons for being busy. So that leaves Samara.

I don't think she would care that much, what with her being a Justicar.

I disagree.  Miranda is important to ME3's overall plot only in the sense that she was Cerberus' top officer.  Now this, in and of itself, is a MAJOR missed opportunity for the Cerberus subplot, but I do not believe that the story would have benefited in the slightest by having Miranda be a squadmate on the ship.  I think they should have taken their concept of having Miranda on her own, investigating her sister's disappearance, and have had it unfold into this massive anti-Cerberus plotline where you joined her for a few missions to sabotage the organization.  This of course would have culminated with her joining you on the assault of Chronos station.

I don't know that Nine Inch Nails reference I made the other day was pretty funny. At least I thought so.

THAT was art. Just ask Nihlus.

Miranda would have been far more interesting.

I don't care, and I'm fairly certain nobody else does either.

When a character (like Miranda) has explicit, high-level connections to one of the main antagonists (because face it, Cerberus has far more screentime than the Reapers) and can provide tactical information against those antagonists, it's sort of stupid to ignore that.

She wouldn't have to be a squadmate for that to be developed.

What do you think Miranda would believe in with the Geth v Quarians?

That was Mona Lisa-level art, dawg. You're BSN's Leonardo da Vinci.

Overall ,I'm not sure, but I think would be able to sympathize with the geth (to a point). The quarians created them to be tools and then tried to exterminate them. The (less extreme) analogues to Henry are there.

I think she would side with the geth on Rannoch though, because of their military assets if nothing else.

I was thinking the same, honestly.
I don't think Miranda is a big fan of the quarians. And if Shepard told her about the consensus, she'd sympathize with the Geth, as you said. I think only Talimancers still like the Quarian race after what we saw them do.
