I've also always questioned where Mordin got his Seeker Swarm Bug in ME2. I also wonder...Who the hell is driving the shuttle in ME2? Because....Jacob and Miranda are both interrogating Shepard at the beginning. Who's flying it? You also have this same issues through out the game.

I will now imagine this for the beginning of ME2 flying the shuttle, and chuckle. This made my day.

I'm working my way through ME2 and it's terribly melancholy. The fish are swimming, my model ship collection is growing, Miranda is speaking with Ori--and every mission brings me closer to Miranda's derailment and Shep's death. I need a pick-me-up. Convince me that the lady's worth it. Please.

The latter was never in question for me. In fact, she is still competent and independent in ME3, only her motivations are derailed. I put that down to temporary insanity ("I can't think straight until Ori is safe") and an unwillingness to tell Shepard about the other things she's doing (she is doing other things offscreen because I say so) because she's still not completely sure of him until Sanctuary. Nothing can retcon her absence on Cronos Station, but the Datapad messages (which I can't get but I know they're there) and the e-mail do a lot to restore her.

As for Shepard - he'll come back. You and I have written that already.

I know the melancholy you're feeling, but post-EC it's the good kind, the knowledge that the story is soon over and I'm to say farewell to yet another Shepard and his Miranda (or another Shepard and her Kaidan, Samantha etc...). The future in my head is a good one, for the galaxy and both of them, and they will continue to shape it. That's all I need to mitigate the sadness.

Edit:
Grr....I just noticed that Garrus and Liara get seven times as many Datapad messages as Miranda. I don't believe this.

Quality more important than quantity. And actually the most enjoyable message for me was the shortest, it was just "Good luck". Short, to the point, not wasting time with any waffle, but sincere,  I can imagine Miranda writing that.

(I don't have datapad, but I imagine this is sent just before Priority:Earth).

Hmm. What kind of areas are you talking about? I might be able to help.

Most of them are minor, but a couple of the major ones are this: Shepard and the ENTIRE squad leaving the Normandy, letting the crew get abducted.  Easily the most transparent plot device in the entire series.  Also, having Miranda have little-to-no involvement in the Cerberus subplot in ME3 was a tragically missed opportunity, but it's also one that could easily be mentally retconned into a "behind-the-scenes" kind of deal.

Also Kai Leng, but he's harder to ignore.  Badass character design and also responsible for the best Renegade interrupt ever, but damn was he a two-dimensional character.

the best renegade interrupt is the neck-snap during miranda's LM in ME2. Kai leng's death was undermined by all the previous conveniently-missed chances during ME3.

Edit: and wow did this thread go downhill, some of you should ashamed of the way you treat people with dissenting opinions.

@jtav: Try playing a Liara romance without LotSB. That’ll make everything shine.

Pretty sure she's feeling melancholy about ME3 approaching, so not helping there. :P

Not when they come here to specifically voice their opinion. Even if they are going to politely disagree, they need not come here. This is Miranda specific thread. If all they are going to do is profess their love for another person or bash or derail or whatever, go somewhere else and do it. I don't go trolling in other threads (except the ashley thread, and that's because I love Krukow) so don't come here and do it in this one.

I think some people were being jackasses too, hell I am one, but people that have nothing productive to add are wasting their time here on the thread imo.

So, with Leviathan coming out tomorrow, Can we keep spoilers out of conversation just for a few days?

Hey, I wanted to post this in here again 'cause I think you guys would be interested in it as well. It's the results of the romance DLC survey that we posted about a week ago now. We are trying to keep it at the forefront for BioWare to be completely aware of it and possibly do something with it. We're not naive and we don't really think anything will come from it, but it was a labor of love (no pun intended) and we hope you guys/gals will take a look at it and pass it along to perhaps someone else who might wanna take a look at it.

Play...a different Shepard. Don't pick an ending where he dies.

*jazz hands*

Or, or you can spend all day thinking about derailment like I did yesterday. It made me sad but in a good way.

That way you can weave something logical together and not abuse yourself in the process.

Playing through it again I'm far less depressed than you and that suprises me.

It's always been there.

Hey jtav, shoot the tube and it's way less depressing.

Shepard gets to keep his promise and everything!

EDIT: both promises actually...

Except I am utterly opposed to Destroy.

I know what the right thing is. The personal price just sucks. So I'm empathizing a bit too strongly with Shep and dreading the sacrifice.

I just know how quickly some of these forums can move and want to give people an opportunity to catch it if they miss it the first, second or third time. Plus, I think the more hits we get, the better chance we have of something coming from it.

A hit is basically when somebody checks something out.

For example- Someone writes an article. Each person who reads the article counts as a hit toward the article.

Bah. The right thing...

Close off the possibility of peace between quarians/geth (through no fault of Shepard's). Maybe lose Legion in the SM or decide it's too dangerous to activate and space it (or turn it in to Cerberus)- valid reasons for both. Or go the more subtle route and get just under the "points" you need to have the chance of peace (playing with loyalties/heretic decison).

Pick the quarians in the confrontation.

Destroy with a clear conscience.

Made peace

Still had a clear conscience.

War is hell.

Reapers are dead.

Shepley forever.

(Is there a one word for miranda/Shep?  Shepanda or mirley both sounded weird...)

Meta-game the **** out the playthrough.

Sell Legion
Don't do the Geth Consensus Misison

It looks like the Geth VI is betraying you. It lies to you. Shepard has no reason to believe anything it says.

Even Tali states that it betrayed you.

This isn't jazz hands worthy but if you want to do some SERIOUS meta-gaming for a new perspective try this method.

Seeing as you like roleplaying so much why not give it a try?
