A lot of people are on opposite sides of the spectrum, that's for sure. Some think it's really good, some think it's lame.

People have been sending me PMs asking me about it. I was shocked.

It's always best to ask people you trust rather than rely on critics.

That's the best advice anyone can ever give you regarding art.

I haven't looked at a single review for Leviathan. I just looked up the footage on youtube and posted in a few threads about it. None of it was positive. My opinion is directly based on what I saw.

That being said there were some visual and gameplay elements that were intriguing. So I'm not saying it was a complete mess. Most of my problems are regarding Leviathan itself, not the structure and content of the DLC as a whole.

The worst part is what it does to the endings. Pretty much BioWare making Synthesis the "right" choice.

You don't think that's a bit unfair?

I couldn't do that when I reviewed films in College. I couldn't just look at Trailers and then write about it.

You have to participate in some capacity. I had to go to the films or rent or buy them.

No it doesn't.

It paints the Catalyst as doing what he was told.

He was programmed by flawed Organics. This DLC shows that his logic is fallacious. He was programmed by hubris laden organics who thought they were right.

You don't have to pick Synthesis. Nothing has changed.

My Shepard is still shooting the pipe and going home.

If another ME1 character was in your Squad in ME2, who else would have been a choice for Squad Leader in the SM? Kaidan?

The ME2 squad was perfect. No changes.

Why Bioware ****ed them all over is beyond me.

Not just yet. The job's only half done. Control is actually the best ending at the moment from this point of view because Commander can mobilze the full power of the Reapers to hunt down and eradicate Levianthans. But don't worry. I'm sure future DLC will definitively sabotage Control... or at least try its damndest to.

Why? Completely different situations. Trailers are marketing tools that are designed soley to hook you in, while revealing very little actual content.

Watching a section of a game on Youtube (particulary a story-driven one like Mass Effect) on the other hand reveals the entirety of the content. And if the content discussed is story progression or more specific elements of it, I don't see how gameplay affects that for better or worse.

Judging story elements in a vacuum is a mistake. But the context came through quite clearly on youtube.

Assuming Wrex could join, he'd be a good choice for Squad leader. Wrex knows the deal when it comes to combat and can easily command the respect of the crew.
I love Grunt, but Wrex has the experience and wisdom to control his combat skills.

I know. I'm only asking.

I don't know why, but I used to send Miri to lead the distraction team while I move in the Biotic Field. Felt really bad because a bullet scrapes her side. I always choose her for the 2nd Fire Team Leader at the beginning of the SM now. She is the Best for that Part<3.

Because that isn't a review. You can watch part three of The Devil, Probably on Youtube right now but it doesn't do the film justice.

You are watching a section of something. It would be best to experience all three and a half hours and then make an assessment.

I'm not judging you, I'm merely offering my opinion. I simply need more than a Youtube video to make an opinion on something.

If they had scenes showing Miri with an M8 Avenger (Especially in the SM when she leads the 2nd Fire Team), why couldn't BioWare just....I don't know....let her have Assault Rifle Training?!

I was doing Garrus' loyalty mission earlier and she has an animation where it looks like she's holding a shotgun.

Whether you agree or not, Bioware was trying to push synthesis. I understand your argument, but Bioware wants synthesis to be the chosen ending.

I'm a destroyer. And I want to see the Leviathans burn too.

Perhaps you are right, maybe it doesn't ascend Synthesis, but when the Leviathan said they can control the Reapers themselves - there goes Control. If they get control of the Reapers + their own powers; game over, pal. I'm not sure BioWare could even come up with a way for Shepard to stop thi--oh wait, HE'S DEAD.

Leviathan says they plan on making organics their thralls again - there goes Destroy. The galaxy will be depleted, and here comes the Leviathans to take our brains from us. Hell, the Leviathan wants to keep Shepard as a thrall until you convince it otherwise.

Now that I think about it, Synthesis is the perfect option for the Leviathans. Makes it easier to control both synthetics/organics now.

It certainly doesn't make the endings any better, but it's not like it could have gotten any worse.

There are not hundreds of them.

Synthesis wouldn't do anything about that situation anyway. If they breed in Synthesis we're ****ed anyway.

We don't know how they breed either.

Shepard knows where the Levis are, all he needs to do is to drop an asteroid with nuclear heads on the planet and goodbyee levis.

As I said, the leviathans are a threat that needs to be dealt with sooner or later.

Did you miss the part where the levi took down the reaper, effortlessly?  I'm pretty sure Control is not as safe as you think it might be.  Did you play it yet?

If you mean in your cannon, your sheps going to take some reapers to kill them off? Again how?  They just flopped the reaper out of the sky?

;)

From what I gather the levi's wanted to be left the hell alone.  So they in turn better just stay in there little hole and not bother interfering again...

But true, if the levi' think of controling the lesser races again. Well, ****, they'll be taken care of, I hope.  But from the EC slides there is no indication that they'll be trouble makers unless it's in the future in another game?

:?

I don't imagine they're just going to sit there on that planet and wait for Shepard to bomb them back to the Stone Age. They led Shepard on an all-time wild goose chase, I'm sure they could continue to do it.

This sounds like a job for post Destroy Shepard and Miranda.
