They can still be there together but they also can work. That sounds like a win-win to me.

Fighting another galaxy-threatening battle sounds more like a lose-lose.

Why must you ruin my head canon lilitheris?

I kid.

I never said it would be easy. I just don't see Shepard and Miranda retiring in a beach house for the next hundred years. I know you agree with me on that. I was concerned about what they were going to do after he recovered and the foundation of a new (proper) group was laid.

Now I know what I want them to do. Big task. Two of the best working on it.

Sure, but I’d maybe rather see them take on overpopulation—no, wait, that’s no longer an issue…

(Actually, sneak preview spoiler: Miranda’s new mission will have something to do with that…)

Well, to keep this on the topic of Miranda, What's her response to the 'Leviathans'? (Is there a better name because, I really hate that as a name for a species)

Edit:   Oops, wrong trilogy.  In a New Hope, the emperor is mentioned though, so no, it's not comperable.
You have to judge things by what's actually shown/seen in a narrative!

You hurt me with the things you say... Image IPB

I didn't ask about the Emperor. I asked about other Sith. He was not mentioned as a Sith in Ep4. Indeed, he wasn't even conceptualized as a Sith until Empire. The novelization of A New Hope references him as a frail old man, nothing more.

Care to try again?

Oh wait, I already said no further questions.

Topic's old anyway. Back to Miranda.

They are a threat that needs to be neutralised and once neutralised dissected for study.

They're literally nerfing the endings. Control will be up next, to my bitter disappointment.

They're not in the habit of nerfing endings already picked by only a minority. There's no pro-Synthesis agenda, that's a conspiracy theory. If anything, they're aiming for more balance. Example: DA2. They admitted they made the mages look worse than plausible because nobody in their test groups went with the templars.

They suck.

Just once, I'd like to see an enemy in Mass Effect that didn't have to be sympathetic.

ME1 and ME2 took the Reapers and gave them motives that lesser beings had no hope of comprehending. The clearest motive that could be made would be them representing order, while we represent chaos to them. They bring order to the chaos. Leave out the tech singularity, created will destroy the creators bull****. It cheapens them so bad. We have this massive cosmic scale apocalyptic threat that seeks our annihilation. And we don't know why. That's terrifying to me. Not knowing and not being able to ever know. All we can do is fight back and try to survive. The Reapers aren't invincible, but they are incredibly devious, cunning, ruthless, and intelligent. To prevent the civiizations from rising up against them, they destroy the foundation of galactic leadership and isolate each species. Divide and conquer. Kill the leadership first and the rest will quickly submit. They also leave their technology (Mass Relays) around so that the lesser races don't develop technology that could be a threat to them, because the lesser races don't take the time to figure stuff out on their own. That's the Reapers fundamental strategy, or it was till Mac Walters came along. Sovereign and Vigil explain to you that this is what they do.

It implies however that by standing together and preparing for a very difficult fight, the civilizations can overcome the Reapers. Which is how Refusal should still work.

But you know, art...

They might also be doing their best to clean up Mac and Casey's mess.

Why is there no choice in this DLC?

Because ME3 is a movie.

That said, I organized a convenient relay explosion on the way out of the system…

would that work? The reapers built the mass relays which means the leviathans must have developed another way to traverse the galaxy beforehand...

Quite possible. As an attempt to make it possible to accept the Catalyst as a character and judge its logic one way or the other based on a second source, Leviathan didn't do too badly.

But they could've done more by removing the remaining nonsensical lines from the Catalyst conversation when they made the EC.

Are you sure about that? First they made synthesis the most desirable option with the EC and now they're making destroy seem like a bad bet.

Bad bet? There are always hypotheticals.

It's foolish to believe that the galaxy will be a warm and fuzzy place afterwords. Even Ieldra has mentioned that the Leviathans will be an issue in Synthesis.

To be honest I'm not entirely sympathetic to a race that has done this much damage, if anything they need to dealt with as they will become an issue again. There will be no new thralls.

You know where they are. How they are dealt with is up to you. Google is your friend. There are lots of ways to **** up planets. It's water. Why not do something to the Ocean?

@lilitheris: No babies in the immediate future. That's just silly. There is no point in bringing a child into the world that is in such a state. Once things start getting better, say ten years down the road I don't see why the idea couldn't be brought up.

There are simply far more important issues at hand for the time being.

Another issue of the Leviathans is that they consider themselves the apex of organic evolution. Any species that is bold enough to make that claim is more than likely going to cause trouble.

Apex? They certainly made some very stupid mistakes. That's what this boils down to. Someone thought that they and they alone had the solution to a hypothetical issue and they attempted to stop it.

In doing so they killed quintillions of beings. What it boils down to is a cosmic tragedy. People don't take responsibility for their creations.

They state their intent on getting more thralls. I'd like to state my intent to do something to that planet before they get the chance.

They are plain and simple a threat. They view lesser races the same as the Reapers.

It's where the Reapers ego comes from. The only difference is that the Reapers are much more malevolent towards the races. The Leviathans believed in benevolent leadership. The lesser beings would serve them, and would be provided with care and protection.

Harbinger was made from them, so it is logical to believe that the Leviathans attitude was transfered to Harbinger, albeit in a twisted, downright evil manner. Harbinger saw that 'protecting and caring' for it's thralls meant harvesting them into another Reaper.

Great news though! New LI content in Omega!

And it's not who you think! Can you guess who?
