I gather there is no mention of Miranda in Leviathan at all. Not even a stray one-liner from a squadmate referring to how she'd feel about Shepard doing something crazy. Seems like that would've been extremely easy to put in there. Bare minimum, even. An infinitesimal effort. To make us feel like the ME2 LIs actually exist, even if they cannot be with us.

Sigh. I wish BioWare had never introduced the ME2 love interests.

better to think of the trilogy as 3 separate games, which in effect they have become.

That kind of falls apart when you consider that the Fave Five got continuity across multiple "separate games" but the ME2 lot got only one.

Awesome picture! Catches mood of in-game relationships. Deep blue...

I was actually considering this point for my next full playthrough. How they made romancing in ME2 almost pointless.

Anyway just did a full Ash romance all the way through. Liked her much more in ME3 than ME1. Likely due to her hospital stay. If only I could have Miranda help me retake Earth...Sadly I'd pay ridiculous amount of money to have Miranda in Omega DLC, and stuff added for Miranda to help me retake Earth properly.

1 extra game because they were introduced later. And even then continuity is forced: you didnt have to recruit garrus in me1...

In terms of plot, characters and story there is little continuity at all.

Like, does she have a long wrinkley future, or will she age like Dick Clark?
She'll age at 2/3 the rate of course. Anything else wouldn't make sense since aging and death by old age are related (do I really need to mention that?). A regular human in the ME universe who is 150 years old looks like an 80-year-old today. Miranda will look like that when she's 225, and at 150, she'll look like a 55-year-old today.
That doesn’t really make sense when you link aging and death.

Wow and I thought I was grim. Can't you enjoy the fact that she's there at all?

That she can have a future?

It's getting as bad as the story forums in here.

You die of old age because you have been getting older and certain processes in your body have decayed too much for you to live on. It doesn't make sense *not* to link (biological) aging and death by old age. .

@Taboo:
Rest assured, I'd rather have had Miranda for 1.2 games than not at all. ME2 Miranda still exists. If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't be here. And yep, I like that she has a future. If she hadn't, I wouldn't be playing ME3 any more.

Of course she is. I wish people would recognize that here.

I just wish everyone was less reactionary. She could have ended up like Jacob.

Not every interpretation of the character will me met. I don't mind what I saw in ME3. At all.

I DO mind that that's ALL I saw.

I still hold ME3 Miranda in contempt. If I wasn't already attached to her, I'd make a point of killing her off on the SM every single time. Obliterate her from the universe. But...I'm cheap. Toss me an email and a few neat slides and I can tolerate her continued presence.

I'm hearing a lot of "Miranda made a normal life for her so she hasn't got any training". But has anyone ever asked Oriana what *she* wanted? I'm playing with the idea that she didn't want to be normal and went to do something exceptional on her own on the side. On the surface, she's working in colonial development as told in ME2, but behind the scenes she's also something else.

I think she wants in on the action as well. It's a nice contrast to Miranda maybe wanting out or at least wanting the normal life.

A few months back when we were talking about Oriana, it inspired me to write a scene with that very thing in mind. I never finished it and looking back it probably won't fit into any canon. But I can brush off the cobwebs, finish it and see what you guys think.

It isn't her fault. She's a non existent entity. It was written this way. Mac Walters didn't put her into the main plot more. Therefore she had to exist within that confines of a smaller role.

I'm not surprised by her plot developments, as I've stated ad nauseum. I've been expecting her to warm up for at least two years. I am surprised that this was all we saw.

That lack of focus makes her appear unbalanced. She's always going to want a family, a husband, everything. That's here to stay. That doesn't bother me in the slightest. Being exceptional and wanting normal things is not weird. She's human. She has basic wants and needs. That's human psychology.

But that doesn't mean something shouldn't be added to balance her out. She needs something pertaining to her past with Cerberus.

I have a question about some haters:

Why do some of them relentlessly claim that Miri looks like Michael Jackson? I do not understand why they make such a ridiculous and hurtful claim. Where the HELL is there proof? Are theylooking for some random excuse to troll? Are they jealous because our LI looks prettier than there's, and that our LI is a better character? Are they trying to ruin Miri for us? Are they trying to **** up our minds? Are they just plain morons? A flock of blind ****s? How do some of you just shake it off and not react negatively?

I severely apologize for bringing this up, but some this just pisses me off. I mean, lots of us here don't even troll, so why are we attacked in such a ****ed up way?

I kill characters I despise. I want then to go away and not infringe on my enjoyment of the universe. Miranda in ME3 comes perilously close to doing so. Were there no email, I probably would have made a point of Gibbing so that she died. The email saved her. The slides even more so. I really am quite easy to please. But the mindset behind her base game role needs to die.

Fortunately, I think there's already been a shift. See the Control slide where the personal and professional dovetail in a satisfying way.

Great picture up there! ... reminds me of how busy I am that I can't do more myself...

To your question Luis: To cause exactly your kind of reaction.

I spent three hours talking to an old professor of mine about this and we came to the same conclusion. Her role was reduced (he plays games too) but not destroyed. She's still there in every way. She simply had to exist within limited parameters. We talked about just about everything in those three hours and came to the conclusion that it could have been much, much worse.

Those ideals of hers are still there. The love for her sister is there. Her love for Shepard is there. In the end I'm frustrated but not bitter. I don't hate her. My Shepard doesn't either. He adores her.

At the end of the day her presence only serves to make the ending brighter.

Luis it's really simple. She isn't real.

I've seen real women treated far worse where I work. I'm more inclined to get upset over that and I do. I get furious.

Ask me about the bathrooms vigils sometime Miranda thread denizens.

Better yet, I dare someone to send me a PM about the Burritos. It's absolutly disgusting.

I realize how weird that sounds but believe me it's ****ing nasty.

Yeah I know she is only data, but it still feels as if these haters are trying to manipulate the mind.... To ruin the character for you. In one of my threads, a hater posted a picture of mj, saying that it was a pic of Miri, and then another user saw it, and said, "You (or that) just ruined Miranda for me." I admit I am weak minded, but I do not want to end up like that other user.

Of all the things I need to worry about Miranda looking like Michael Jackson is not one of them.

If you didn't react none of this would happen. People are bating you.
