Maaan, LOTSB didn't damage Miranda. ME3 did, if anything.

Damage? ME3 did it. LotSB only furthered Some Weird Sin.

ART.

As for Miss Gainsbourg, she won't be doing much either. Thankfully no screen grab from either of those scenes exist. No block of wood to Dafoe's nads and no pair of rusty scissors to her...

Thank God.

Citadel DLC is coming after Omega. If there's no Miranda in Omega, then the Citadel DLC is another chance for more Miri: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/13910521

ME3 didn't do much damage IMO. She's just sidelined, but her character is okay thanks to email and other things Taboo has mentioned.

LOTSB made it easy to troll you guys that she cheated on Shep (she didn't, just saying).

The subscribing to barefoot housewives weekly and canceling the science journal was the worst character development ever.

Okay, second worst (ME3 Jacob).

It did. Read the damned dossier. It was almost as if they wanted to tell us what to expect from Miranda in ME3. And everyone hated the dossier for various reasons, so it's not as if Bioware didn't know what we didn't want.

QFT. I *really* hate that part.

She was looking for connection. That didn't surprise me.

However it was done is of no concern to me. I was simply bothered by the time line. I resolved that issue by going through the game again. It didn't happen during the game. Dialogue proves this.

However two of the emails do take place during the game. And that hits me right in the feels.

THE ART. THE ART.

I read the dossier. Just that people choose to interpret it different ways. I see it more as fleshing out the character than suggesting a direction. I can't help feeling that it's been blown out of proportion.

Anyway, we've gone over this enough, so it's not worth rehashing it.

The dossier and ME3 are of a piece. The same philosophy of normal being good and Miranda craving family and that making her tragic and discarding her professional ambitions is present in both

You know, it's less that I hate the dossier and more that I hate all the negative reading into it being done around here. I'm starting to think it may be worse than even that Collector Base line...

She doesn't cancel her science journal in ME3. She eventually forms a fighter squad to help the war effort (late in the game, but still!) and her slides show that she still likes science and does stuff.

LOTSB shows a Miranda who is sick of that book learning, and just NEEDZ AH MAN!

I mean, why cancel the science subscription? She doesn't make enough to subscribe to two magazines??

There is zero evidence of discarding professional ambitions. None. Show me precisely where she discards her ambitions.

There is only the absence of visible proof that she still has said ambitions. Which just begs to ask: why do you assume she doesn't have them anymore?

Cleary the problem's on your end.

She's exceptional and wants normal things. She's human. Humans have basic needs. The need to feel loved. The need to feel accepted. One discontinuation of a magazine is not the end of the world.

She can be accomplished both at work and at home. I see it as more offensive that people think she can't have both.
All I see the dossiers doing is adding a human element.

This Miranda was always there.

But that line was written by Walters.

So it isn't OOC.

Nobody thinks that =]

For example, in ME2, everybody loves the Loyalty Mission and, generally, most people seem to prefer having Miranda talk to Oriana.

So Stephen Hawking doesn't read work done by other physicists?

You people are doing some awesome mental gymnastics.

The intent of the dossier was clear. And stupid. ME3 actually undid some of that damage...

The level at which she is playing professionally, you cannot succeed without a 24/7 effort.

So she doesn't sleep?  Because that would eat into that 24 thing.

I think you're being a bit hyperbolic...

She does not have allotted hours in which she can sleep, no. 24/7 availability is required.

Edit: let me clarify so that this doesn’t end up like last… she does sleep, but she cannot rely on being able to sleep at a certain time or for a certain amount of time.

Well, nobody is settling down while this war is happening. As a longer term thing, sure. Some type of balance would be appropriate, as it would be for most people.

It doesn't really matter though in the end how you look the the dossiers though. What matters is what happens next.

And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make.

^ lolololol

I apologize in advance for that. I couldn't help myself.

But she doesn't have to work the whole 24 hours, just be available?

Because I work with police officers who are available most of the time, due to the needs of various investigations, and they're perfectly fine parents.
ER doctors are in a similar position.  Esp surgeons.

I think you just don't want her to have kids/family.  And that's fine, but stop pretending it limits her ability.  The freaking president of the US has kids yo.
