Miri is my main LI as well.
Wrex, Garrus, and Grunt are my other favorite characters in addition to Miri.
But I like Legion, Kasumi, Zaeed, Mordin, and Thane as well.

Ah how could I forget Garrus? Sheps one and only bromance :D

Thanks for the warm welcome all!!!

Her training is about the same as mine as a soldier and an Officer. While I am exceptional, I would not call myself a standout soldier. She is neither. She becomes a Spectre because Udina needs someone he can easily manipulate, plus it is a political boost and a morale boost. She really has done nothing to warrant that kind of promotion. I have a list of special skills and achievements I've made in my career: Combat Action Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Marksman Qualification Badge, and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (in Bronze). Ashley likely has her timelines equivalent and they do mark her as a standout soldier, but she simply can't compete with Miranda.

Miranda most certainly has training. She mentions this herself. She is a Cerberus field officer after all. She most likely knows more advanced forms of fighting and combatives. And her biotics are indeed very powerful for a human. She's not the most powerful, but she could hold her own well enough. She doesn't have the raw power like Jack, or Samara's advanced Justicar training though true. In the former's case, she was experimented on to make her that much more powerful, and Samara is nearly a 1000 years old and has had Justicar level biotics for the Asari (Who are all talented biotics naturally) for over 400 years.

Miranda would win in a fight. Ashley would put up a good one, but she just is out of her league there.

Ashley is a spectre!  She's part of the most elite special forces in the history of the galaxy!  Miranda was basically an administrator half the time!

I get that you love your waifu (I clearly do too), but you're delusional if you think she could defeat a spectre with way more training and battle experience than her.  Miranda is a tactician, and a great one, but only a decent combatant at best.

let me put it in terms you can understand:
Ashley=Michael Jordan
Miranda=Phil Jackson

Spectre is a title, one that Ashley is unjustly given.

I've seen ****bags who got the Ranger tab. And I'd beat em' as a soldier any day of the week.
They're a disgrace to the tab, and only got it because west point connections got them into the school.

As I've said, Ashley was made a spectre because Udina needed a puppet that was easy to mainpulate.
She was perfect for that role. She herself is only known because of her association with Shepard.

She's a good soldier. She can definitely ruck more and take on the **** more in the field.
But that doesn't make her a standout. It just means she's doing her job.

Miranda isn't an administrator so much as she is a head cell director or officer. And Ashley's training is not that expansive. And I bet Miranda has just as much experience fighting as Ashley. Not battle experience in direct action combat, but Miranda is trained for espionage, biotics, and she is a very capable shot with a handgun, being able to precisely shoot off a mech's head at 100 yards (quite exceptional for a handgun). Her training as an asset make her much more valuable at infiltrating and dismantling from within.

And Miri doesn't need to be a Spectre to prove herself. She's done that quite nicely already<3.

Ashley hasn't been a Spectre for that long at all. She hasn't gotten that much training as one.

To be fair, I'm not sure you're giving Miri that much credit either.

Dear FiendishChicken,
Ashley is a spectre. It doesn't matter if you think she's deserving. In the game, the council makes her one. The 75% alien council. Also, Ashley is much more battle tested than Miranda. She helped kill Soverign (an actual reaper) with a smaller squad, while Miranda helped kill a reaper fetus with a larger squad. Also, Ashley was on the front line with Shep fighting the reapers in ME3. She's actually fought and killed brutes/banshees/harvesters, while Miranda played hide and seek with "cerberus assassins". Ashley has better training, as she has been trained for combat from beginging to end, whereas a lot of Miranda's training was in the tactics/scientific fields. It's why she was overseeing a science project for 2 years. She's very much a renaissance woman, capable of many things. However, one of these things is not being a superior fighter to Ashley. I have never seen Miranda crush a mech with biotics, or shoot one's head off. I have seen ashley kill Atlases though.

I know you will respond that Ashley isn't as good as her titles, but that is your opinion completely divorced from the reality presented in the game. In the actual Mass Effect game, Ashley is superior to Miranda in combat skills, and it's not even close. This does not invalidate Miranda, it's just an honest and fair comparison.

Regards,
Krukow

From what we know about Ash career...

- Saved by Shepard on Eden prime. Before that she only was given ****ty work.
- Saved by Shepard on Virmire (I think the best for she is to be nuked, that way in ME2 she becomes the first human to receive alien condecorations).
- Saved by Shepard on Horizone.

After that she's Udina's puppet in ME3. She didn't deserveed the tittle..

Shepard earned his tittle because of his background (hero, butcher or survivor) and the recommendation from Nihlus. Saren earned spectre status because he was succeswful in the Turian arma at very young age.

Ashley doesn't have enough merit to even be considerted as a spectre.

Now, let's see Miranda. We don't know much about her previous operation, but we know she mas trusted with the more demanding and dangerous Cerberus operation in the past.

She has a lot of more training and experience than Ashley (Henry might started her education and training when she was a child, after all for him she was a project, not a daughter).

Miranda has 20 years of experience, and we can see what can she do against an asari commando with hundred of years of experience. Ash with luck has 7-8 years of experience.

So krukow, Mirnada can win a 1 on 1 against Ashley any day. She could handle Leng (a top and ruthless N7), besides Miranda has the brains too, she might be 5 moves ahead from whatever Ash might do.

that's my 2 cents...

Quoted for epic fail xD.

Shepard and his squad killed a reaper larva, we know that. But you forgot about all those cruisers, frigates and fighters firing at Sovereign. I never saw Ashley or any squad shooting it from the winow xD.

Miranda was busy romancing Jacob and TIM. Miranda admits her biotics are not that good in ME2 and without Shep that Asari would have killed her. In fact, without Shep

Miranda would die in the sm.
Miranda would die by KL.
Miranda would die by Aliiance.
Miranda would die by Asari b*tch.

Dear Krukow,

Ashley did not fight an actual Reaper, just a puppet controlled by one. Miranda did fight one, yes it was a fetus, but it was a HELL of a lot larger than a drone controlled by one. On what basis are you saying Ashley is more battle-tested? Before ME1, she had never had a post that wasn't on a backwater world. Yes she is a frontline soldier, but that does not make her an expert at combatives. And Miranda has been training for longer, in many more fields simultaneously. I don't think Miranda could fire a rifle as straight as Ashley, or ruck 30 clicks, but those are honestly the only advantages that I would give to Ashley. Better Training? Miranda herself has stated she has the best training money can buy. Trust me, there's some training that is a lot better than military training. And Ashley is not a special forces qualified soldier. Miranda isn't either, but she has a lot of the training and capabilities. Miranda excelled in training for all fields. She states this. Ashley is only very proficient in one, as a common Infantryman. Miranda's training is as an operative, a trade by which she must be incredibly proficient in hand to hand skills and small arms, as well as infiltration and other espionage related tasks. Her biotics alone make her that much more formidable. And she is one of the best.

Yes Miranda can do all of those, because that's where Cerberus needs her. I have no doubt she could carry out a wetwork mission alone or with a small team as a Field Operative. In fact I think she already has done all of that. And I say that Miranda can do that because she states she can. This makes it in game canon. She is a Renaissance woman, excelling at everything she works at.

The scenario's you refer to are gameplay, and they are meant more for balancing issues. They are invalid.

And if you are doing that, I can say the same, with you denouncing Miranda for all the skills that is told to you in the game. Ashley is a standout, but not what I would call above the rank and file. And think about why the council would approve another spectre. They are at war, a war that is likely to lead to galactic annihilation. The councilors have more important things to worry about than a potential Spectre. And humanity just had their homeworld blasted. Why not give them the morale boost. Ashley was in the right place at the right time. She is not a truly exceptional soldier like Shepard.

And being a Spectre isn't the absolute end all beat all. Remember how easily Tela Vasir went down? Or how Jondam Bau was outsmarted by Kasumi and nearly strangled by a human thug? You're putting to much emphasis on the title. I'd put Thane in his prime above any Spectre except for Shepard and maybe Saren.
And Samara. I'm sure Zaeed, Legion, Mordin, Grunt, Jack, and Miranda could do it too. It's mental as a well as physical. Miranda would win by virtue of simply outsmarting Ashley.

Sincerely

The Chicken

P.S.
