The Reapers have Indoctrinated one splinter group per cycle. This has been their plan for over twenty years. Cerberus is a result of TIM's contact with that Reaper device in Evolution. Once he started implanting himself with Reaper tech it was all over. That was the last straw. He was too far gone at that point.flemm wrote...
I think it would probably have been a better choice, yeah. For one thing, it would have prevented the focus from shifting too far away from the war against the Reapers as the story's main focus.Steelcan wrote...
Cerberus being too far gone was another bad idea. They should have maintained Cerberuss grey morality, not make thm space ****s
That's one issue with the narrative as a whole.
They even wanted the same thing as the one in Javik's cycle. Control.

I understand that bit of backstory, but it's really not that relevant to the point I was making.
One issue with the main story in ME3 is that the Reapers become almost an afterthought until suddenly... whoops... lots of exposition. Cerberus becoming essentially the main antagonist is one reason for that.
Yes, the exposition dump in the falling action is atrocious.
But we needed something other than Reapers to fight and Cerberus was one of the only other things that was left. It's a story telling device. It's lazy but that's what it is.
I'm interested in seeing if we ever have anything new. The Adjutant? That was the name of the thing in the Omega comics. That would be interesting to see.
People keep talking about the Collectors. They modelled new ones for ME3 (you can see them in the Javik flashbacks in From Ashes).
Who knows. After seeing this **** with the Rachni I wouldn't put it past Bioware.
"Turns out you missed an entire Collector outpost!"

Well, fighting Cerberus some of the time makes sense. But it should probably be more in the role of secondary antagonist or sometimes fragile alliance, depending on your choices.
That would allow more of the main story beats to be related to the Reaper war and prevent the wtf? aspect of the endings.
Obviously these are big revisions to the main story, but, arguably, or almost certainly, it needed some pretty major adjustments to really work.
A lot of the main story beats are Leng-related for example. But... they don't really add much. He's just some guy you're fighting.

I agree with you. I think they were overused far too much as an excuse and then we have this "WTF" moment as you state. I simply don't see much of a work around as quite a bit of the game is simply too unbalanced. It's just bad.
I can only hope that Reapers become more of a focus in DLC simply because it really is necessary. Although that seems unlikely as Omega has been taken by Cerberus...

I would rather Miranda, if she ever gets some DLC have something just for her. Or with Jack. Nice combo there.

Not sure how feasible that is though? Maybe she could dissappear right before Horizon chasing a lead, or be a required squaddie?

No it isn't feasible. They are simply too many variables involved. She'll never be a permenant squadmate.
She can be temporary though. Like for something Leviathan-esque. She could even be on the Normandy for that amount of time.

We should be able to get Miranda after Sancutary for Cronos. She could spend that time on the Normandy.

Cerberus aiding you but secretly performing experiments on husks and other assorted crap makes a whole lot more sense than them trying to kill you with two friggin' divisions while they kidnap civilians for lab rats. The whole premise of Cerberus being an enemy in Mass Effect 3 was a lazy, sloppy and just horrible plot device to give you an extra few levels of shooting stuff.

Is it just because of her current content? Because Kasumi was added to ME3 after the fact and that worked alright...

Kasumi had things on disc when the game shipped. No such content exists for Miranda. She has what she has now. Could more be added? Sure.
But she'll never be a full-time squadmate.
The best you can hope for is DLC that will satisfy some of the more dishevelled people in here. I don't need much. Others need an arm and a leg.
If it does happen my hope is that it will put an end to some arguments in here once and for all.
But I'm sure there'd be new ones...

Most likely not as a full-time character, but she has huge potential to be in future DLC. Bioware knows how much people want everyone back, it's up to them now. Our job is to make sure they don't forget that that's what most of us are waiting for.

No one else has the energy we do. This is the most active thread in this area.
I got the #MoreMiranda thing started but that's all I've done.
That's only half true actually. Everyone in the story forum knows what I want.

I agree with you there
On the whole, it's really up to the devs to figure out the when and how. I'd like to see more, so... I'll just keep asking for that, and see what happens

#MoreMiranda
Basically our movement to show our appreciation of the character and hope Bioware recognizes it and works on more Miranda content.

But good job igniting it, Kay and Taboo!
