Old timers? Since I got here all we've done is attract a new gaggle of ghouls.

But it isn't my fault people left. It's Bioware's.

We're simply taking over.

Some people haven't accepted the way Miranda's character went. I think it's unbalanced. Others are convinced it's an imposter.

3 months away and I haven't really missed much. Btw, where'd all the old timers go?

So who qualifies as an old-timer we scared away?

Some of the people think her character has been mutilated because they want her to have no soul and be all pro fascism.

Really, she just grew and had certain aspects cut for time (all the non-family stuff).

People's interpretations are their own. It's none of my business to hark on them for something they have a right too.

I saw the character going this way. Others did not. And here I stand today.

I can only assume others had other ideas for the character and those were not met. They left becaus the character is no longer the one they saw.

**** happens.

No, Ashley is the space racist/facist, remember? Those aliens are the source of our problems!

Am I the only that just thought "Oh boy here we go again..." in the first conversation with Miranda and she mentions Oriana is in trouble? Like I knew that's EXACTLY where everything was going to go from that point on in... <_<

Meh.

I think you're really distorting people's views there. I don't see any reason for everyone to agree, but there's also no reason to misrepresent what people are saying like that.

Nobody is interested in a version of the character with "no soul" or anything like that.

YOU HUMANS ARE ALL RACIST!

(I'd laugh if Ashley were there to hear it)

It's gotten pretty ugly in here. I wouldn't use the word Fascism myself but it's been pretty out there. And I'm talking REAL fascism not just aesthetics. I could have talked about the latter last night but I chose not to.

I wish people would stop bringing certain topics up in that regard. It will never lead anywhere good.

Dude, people who say that the "seeing it in person, it seems like a betrayal" line are not being misrepresented at all.  Even if you disagree, saying that line ruins her character is just rediculous to me.

I can take your ashley jokes all day, but sometimes I have to take a break from this thread because some of her fans are ruining her character for me.

The arguments stem from two aspects of the character. Depending on which said person reacts to and by how much you're going to have different interpretations.

Some people react to the person on the surface. Others the one underneath. The latter has taken over the thread. The latter is also the one that was shown most in ME3.

I don't care how people choose to interpret a character. There is no right or wrong.

If your point is that they want Miranda to have "no soul," then you are certainly presenting a distorted view of what they are saying.

There are two competing considerations there: one which has to do with concern for the people that died at the base, the other with the potential lives that can be saved by preserving it.

Both are moral considerations, which is why both sides have been argued in actual historical circumstances. Some people feel that Miranda would more likely favor the second consideration.

Agree or disagree, but that argument is in no way "fascist." It just isn't.

I think it would have simply been better to have NOT brought up Auschwitz at all.

The issues began there. It was a terrible comparison.

People WERE messaging me asking me what the hell was going on.

People are very aware of what goes on in here.

No it wasn't, it was more character mutilation.

You obviously don't hang out enough in here...

People in here are very strong willed just like our favorite lady. This is why fights break out. Depending on how you see the character any number of things may become an issue.

I think some people in this thread approach the character in an emotionally sterile manner. They would say that I approach it with too much emotion.

No one can ever really agree on anything because there isn't one right answer. If I disagree I'm going to let you know. Not out of a sense of false authority but out of debate. People in this thread take everything so seriously it's hard to be level headed.

Well, I believe BringBackNihlus brought that up, though I wasn't in the thread at the time, and there was really no reason to make a big deal of that.

It's been brought up before as a point of comparison.

Not because the two things are *equivalent*, or comparable in any way, which of course BringBackNihlus was not
suggesting anyway, but because some of the questions involved did surface after those events, as they have after some other historical events.

They aren't comparable. It's best to not bring those kinds of things up because it will lead to nasty words being used.

There is a difference between an aesthetic and the whole thing. That fastest way to turn something into a ****storm is to bring up the Holocaust.
