I just think there needs to be a new rule. When someone says a line is OOC for Miranda, especially a ME2 line, their opinion is immediately invalid.

I mean, I know this is the internet, home of the know it all arrogant douche, but your interpretation of Miranda's character is not better than the interpretation of the PEOPLE WHO CREATED HER.'

So yeah, I will troll everyone who claims the collector base line is OOC from now on. It's part of her character, just as valid as every other line.

Good, we know how to troll just as well. And in case you haven't noticed, the writers from ME have been inconsistent with a lot of things.

By the way, you saying everyone who doesn't agree with on this matter is wrong automatically includes you on your arrogant douche comment. You can disagree as much as you want, but your opinion isn't better than others'.

...I've never claimed a line was OOC for someone.  Though I may have misunderstood your sentence since you omitted words...

And do your best to troll.  I dare you.  COME AT ME BRO!

...Babi is a girl.

Different interprations are fine, but you can't just ignore the stuff you don't like, or call that stuff a
"mutilation". Bioware created Miranda, they decide what is in character and what isn't.

Well, the second part of your statement is certainly true in the sense that it's Bioware's IP.

But, for the first part, people can use terms like that, if they feel that way.

It's not even that uncommon, really, for that type of thing to happen to characters. These are metaphors, but characters getting "mangled" or "mutiliated" or "damaged"... it happens all the time. One can always agree or disagree that it happened, but it's not out of bounds or anything, to use those metaphors. They are just part of the language of discussing these matters.

Flemm is a racist.  I will ignore everything about flem that says otherwise and interpret him however I want.

Yeah, that's pretty f*cking stupid.

Well, let's not mix everything together ;)

Fictional characters are not people, for one thing. When speaking of fictional characters, some interpretations are doubtless more valid than others, but they are always subject to "interpretation" in different ways than actual people.

For example, it's actually possible to have different versions of a certain fictional character. That doesn't really work with people.

Interpretations are mangled not the character. People's personal concepts are destroyed. The character is not.

There is no right or wrong answer. This allows a wide birth for things. No one person sees things the exact same way.

That's why they call it art.

Have you seen the launch trailer? Miranda isn't in it. Ashley is in it a ton, and gets a quick love scene cut.

No, but you claim you're right and everyone else is wrong. And if that wasn't bad enough as it is, you take things too personally, like calling us fascists.

I will, but I need to correct you, I'm a sister ;) Oh, since you never say something is OOC, do you remember the first game when Ash said she hates politics and pretty much thought the Council was a joke? How in-character was her accepting Udina's offer? I mean, we all know she's a hypocrite, but that was just too much.

Well, Miranda had a lot more screentime in ME3 than Ash had in ME2. Also, I'm pretty sure Miranda's content on ME2 alone is bigger than Ashley's in two games.

Also, I didn't know about this meme.

Dear babi,
I am not a fan of the political system in my country.  I feel everyone just spends their time badmouthing the opposition.  I seriously think both political parties are bull****, and rarely vote.  I also work as an analyst for my state's attorney general helping to prosecute medicaid thiefs and people who abuse the elderly.  Am I also a hypocrit, or someone disenfranchised with politics who still wants to help society?

Sincerly,
Krukow.

PS: do you have a newsletter I can subscribe to, because that was brilliant analysis!

Alas, me and taboo are discussing this.

It's because the developers are rather conservative. They need a Betty character as the LI.

Miranda is too dominant of a character. They don't want a character as good as Shepard, if not better, especially a woman.

Ashley is safe because she's strong, but not too strong, and has the homegrown quality many people, most people like.

Miranda appeals more to the alpha guys, the A-types. We have a lot of those in here. We want a competition and mystery as much as we want love. The sophisticated, icy, urbane woman.

And before you say Ashley is sophisticated and urbane, listen to her dialogue. She's a blue collar grunt who got noticed for her attachement to Shepard's name. She doesn't have any education past a high school diploma, nor is she intellectually interested in anything past her beliefs.

Miranda was meant to appeal as an unattainable woman of sorts, the kind that's way out of your league, even if you are Commander Shepard. And most guys don't like that because, lets face it, most of us haven't had luck with women I'm guessing. Or they remind you of the snbby girl in HS.

I would vote for it.  though as a fan it lacks certain things (Miranda, enough content for certain characters, a consistent victorious ending originally, Miranda), I think it is a really great game.  I've been playing it for months happily (since the EC at least).
