Just finished LotSB in my ME2 replay. If only Shepard and Miranda taking down TIM had been in ME3 and been like this. That's what I had considered possible until the leaked script.

LotSB is a DLC, so maybe. Want to talk about LI injustice? Try Liara without LotSB in ME2. ME2 Ash/Kaidan go without saying… all three of those are far worse than what anyone got in ME3.

(As always, this doesn’t mean I’d not love to see improvements—just that Miranda fans certainly aren’t uniquely put-upon here.)

Here's an interesting question.  Even if she was on the Normandy when Shepard was about to attack Cronos station, do you think she would have had enough time to recuperate from her "scratch" and using her biotics to the extreme on Sanctuary?  She seemed to look very "blue" and worn out.

I don't think I'd be okay with having her fight another battle on Cronos after doing so on  Sanctuary. I think she needed some time to rest up and deal with whatever "scratch" she had.

By the way Hot_heart... looking forward to your next chapter.  "No pressure..."

Hm........ yet she was in ME1?
Anyway, that's not the point,
ME3 was supposed to be about everybody. Not just Me1 crew nor ME2. both.

We can't bring back 20 people as squadmates, Asakawa.

Are there any suggestions on what to do with Miranda in ME 3 aside from her gunning down Cerberus? There's not really much development in that. Something to add on to it, perhaps?

It is, if you’re comparing Miranda in ME3 with LotSB. Liara’s actual game appearance was far worse than Miranda’s, but LotSB was pretty good. So, maybe another DLC will be the fix again.

ME3 was supposed to be about everybody. Not just Me1 crew nor ME2. both.

It was. Poorly.

Eek, thanks! Not sure when that'll arrive. Gotta give it its due attention. Plus, I'm still trying to get back into the groove, having lost it for a week.

@lilitheris

Ah, but you were always going to have LOTSB. liara_dlc was found very early. Parcelling out content like that may be dodgy, but Liara was in the same situation Aria is now. Jack/Miranda/Thane fans have no such hope.

well, I for one, never, in my 3 playthroughs have raced to the Cronos right after Sanctuary... I always took time to do all the side missions I had left, before going to Cronos.. So she would have had enough time to recuperate between those two missions :P

The short answer is a lot of problems crop up when writing and coding dialogue for numerous characters who may be dead. I would have brought back one or two ME 2 squadmates in addition to Garrus and Tali, but no more.

Because Miranda/Jack aren't writers pets like Liara. Garrus and Tali are fan favorites. Ashley/Kaidan were probably only included because of the backlash from their ME2 apperance - recall that they were going to have them commit suicide. Then you have James, EDI and Javik. Javik is the obligatory new exotic species. James is there for when you have no one alive from ME2 and EDI is there to further the synthetics can/can't be trusted plot.

They could in theory add ore but then we'd lose out on banter and character development...not there was any in ME3 anyway.

Even if they weren't squadmates, some of the ME2 characters did get sidelined. You can tell the writers favored the ME1 crew more.

Now it wouldn't be simply gunning down Cerberus. We would see development in Miranda talking about the organization she once believed in, and how she feels betrayed by their current motives. Her development would've been in the dialogue wheel she should have had, and her actions on the field.

Helping to take down Cerberus would show the side of the character that was lacking in ME3.

Not quite.

It's more about the fact they don't want to devote lines and story arcs to people who may not even be there b/c of ME2's final mission.

I hate to say that it makes sense, but it does.

That being said, I wish they'd allow you to pick and choose, say, 6 characters from the previous two games as opposed to giving you 3 completely new characters.

EVEN if they said one or the other (like Ash or Kaidan), I'd be OK with it... some hard choices, but that's what ME is all about.

precisely.
and besides, you don't need all squadmates 100% of the time. You could have them at least for a mission.

Garrus: Hey Shepard, I have an entire task force trusting mewith the reapers problems. But I think it should better to leave them and join you.

Tali: Oh my knight in shining armor, I'm an admiral now, with lots of responbilities, there's thousands of people who needs my "leadership" skills. But I can abandon them to join you in your crusade against the reapers.

Miranda:Hey Shepard, Ori is safe now, nothing can hurt her anymore. Bye bye.

bioware, just WTF?!

You didn't even give a reason for not havung Miranda back, but you ignored reason for some characters to not join Shepard.

It gets exponentially harder the more characters you bring back. Three is four is doable. But six or seven? No way.

Being able to pick six characters just would not work.

However, bringing back squadmates for a mission or even several is definitely doable.

I think she'd be fighting fit enough to join in Cronos imo. No power in the verse could stop her from going too. Just such a shame she vanishes at end of Sanctuary.

Easier to work with characters that have plot armor + those that are fan favorites (Garrus and Tali).

And yes temp squadmates for missions would work but requires more time & resources.

well, Garrus and Tali could have been dead too

-Miranda would have been integral to the Cerberus sub-plot, so Bioware goofed that.
-Thane is even close to dying, so he's a no-go.
-Most fans didn't miss Jacob.
-Samara is a possibility, they could have worked on developing her more. She was a little bland in ME2 for my taste.
-Legion and Mordin's part in ME3 were great as it is. I wouldn't change anything there.
-As VD said, Garrus and Tali could be dead.
-You don't have to buy Javik's DLC.
-You can kill the VS in the coup or deny them aboard the Normandy.
-James is there to stay.
-Grunt would have been a good squadmate as well.
-Pity Wrex can't come back as a squadmate, but he's too busy leading the Krogan. (I love Wrex Posted Image)
-Zaeed and Kasumi could have come back as squadmates, but they're avoidable as well since they're DLC.
-Jack is debatable, but her students need her, I feel.

So your story could've been as morphable as you wanted it.
