Just finished LotSB in my ME2 replay. If only Shepard and Miranda taking down TIM had been in ME3 and been like this. That's what I had considered possible until the leaked script.
LotSB is a DLC, so maybe. Want to talk about LI injustice? Try Liara without LotSB in ME2. ME2 Ash/Kaidan go without saying… all three of those are far worse than what anyone got in ME3.
(As always, this doesn’t mean I’d not love to see improvements—just that Miranda fans certainly aren’t uniquely put-upon here.)
Hm........ yet she was in ME1?
Anyway, that's not the point,
ME3 was supposed to be about everybody. Not just Me1 crew nor ME2. both.
Yep this. Such a biased limited roster imo.

The problem is that you if you bring squadmates back for a single combat mission like LotSB, you have to build animations for all of their attacks and such.

You have to write and code an entire set of combat dialogue. You might have to make idle animations and such. The same amount of work for any other squadmate, but it might feel like a bit of a waste if it's only for one mission. And it might feel like an even bigger disappointment if the squadmate doesn't return to the Normandy after the mission or missions are completed.
LotSB, and Arrival?
And every character shares the same animations regarding powers. They have the same animaton in the cut scenes.

Garrus: Hey Shepard, I have an entire task force trusting mewith the reapers problems. But I think it should better to leave them and join you.
Tali: Oh my knight in shining armor, I'm an admiral now, with lots of responbilities, there's thousands of people who needs my "leadership" skills. But I can abandon them to join you in your crusade against the reapers.
Miranda:Hey Shepard, Ori is safe now, nothing can hurt her anymore. Bye bye.
bioware, just WTF?!
You didn't even give a reason for not havung Miranda back, but you ignored reason for some characters to not join Shepard.
Yep was thinking this myself.

Yes, I was definitely sick of more Tali (some say she was only a permanent squad because of fan demand) and even Garrus (as much as I like him, he didn't really do anything plot wise). And Vega, who was there to please possible new players, old players be damned, I'd throw him out the airlock in a heart beat if I could. BioWare was always biased to their favorites characters or in Tali's case, they couldn't deal with the pressure of bunch of crazy fans.

Don't forget Wilson and Jenkins.
Too bad Vega didn't follow bw's tradition.

But Tali? Sure.
It just feels lonely. I would argue that my Shepard was closer to the ME2 than the ME1 one.

. I think having Tali and Garrus was fine you needed some people who were there for it all. That said Miranda should have been a squadmate even if only for a few missions. Vega was meh, his hair it wa just like Soap's not so subtle prod for CoD fanboysBabi_Siha wrote...

Vega: I'm not leaving Earth! I'd have to be loco in the coco to do so!
Shepard: ..Alright, have fun. Joker, move out!
Vega: Okay Reapers, you want a piece of me?

The whole game had a purpose to draw in a lot of new fans, many of which were from CoD.
It was being marketed at the wrong people.
New gamers want to play Mass Effect? Great, give them a copy of the first game and have them start from there.

I understand Thane, Legion, and Mordin dying. Jacob was not a dynamic enough character to really get my attention. And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Miranda the hardest person to kill in the SM? Even Garrus and Tali have more opportunities to die...I think.

You're being misleading. He wasn't there to attract new players, he was there so (in weeks' words) the new players could have someone dumber than them. He allows a lot of the back story you missed out on if your new to be exposited. Like the discussion of the genophage he has with Garrus on Paloven's moon.
And I like James, he got bit by a zombie head!

As nice as it is that Miranda is the hardest to kill in the Suicide Mission, I think it's more for mechanical reasons than any long-term plans, unfortunately. Though I'd hate to think fan reaction is what tipped the balance with some of the more controversial characters... Wasn't around BSN then, though.

Disagree as i think Tali/Garrus should have been temps. I'd have liked Miranda on squad sure, but the least there should have been was at least one ME2 exclusive on the main squad. Ideally i'd have liked various temps to be available at various stages of the story.

Why not? That's fifty thousand credits in my pocket and the Geth are going to die anyway. From a meta gaming perspective it looks like the Geth VI is betraying you on Rannoch.Interesting role playing mechanic. Also it make the Geth's destruction tragic and not silly. Which is more art for arts sake.
**** yeah art.
