For when people return to the thread, would Miranda approve of saving the Rachni queen twice

I'm not sure she'd approve of it once.

You don't know about the reaper threat the first time, so really there's no reason to allow them to live. She's pragmatic (right?). Why reintroduce a threat to the galaxy? Especially since she's cerberus at that point and interested in furthering humanity's future.

. (I agree with you)A counter point.  Wouldn't the Rachni make an excellent ally to humanity?

I agree.

. The reason I say twice is because she wasn't there in ME so it has no bearing, but as a squadmate in ME3. Would she think it a good idea

Well, but why trust them?  They already drove the galaxy to near ruin, why take the chance?  It's not like wiping them out was a galactic mistake, it was neccessary.

I mean, if you could trust them, sure, but there's no reason to think you can.

I personally always think that killing the queen is pragmatic, and freeing her is altruistic.

Miri's not that altruistic...

I think she'd let them go both times. The queen is the last of her kind, and I think compassion would move her to avoid genocide. And the second, the queen is restrained and helping the Reapers against her will. Rachni trump Arlakh.

. The Krogan are a known entity.  The Rachni are an unknown and I doubt Miranda would make this decision out of emotion

I feel we just had a huge debate over this and Jtav was on the other side of the ledger...

I didn't mean the rachni, I meant Miranda letting emotion cloud her decisions (coughcollectorbasecough).

Miranda is capable of compassion, and I think she'd feel a certain kinship wuth another creatyre that was also singular. She'd grumble, but I that's her line.

Oh, I just didn't want you thinking Rachni was an old debate.

I'm actually quite curious to see what the regulars think about miri and the spiders...

I disagree about the second time and don't really see how anyone would consider releasing her then.

Everyone that's spent any amount of time in direct contact with the Reapers ends up indoctrinated and trying to kill you. Seriously. Every damn one. The only exception is Shiala through unique circumstances we can no longer replicate.

There is zero reason therefore to believe that the queen is free of Reaper influence in a cave filled with Reaper tech and actively producing reapified rachni. And given that they're blaming the Rachni Wars on Reaper influence we know she's not magically immune.

I let the queen go the first time. She either blew it, or just had incredibly ****ty luck. But then, who hasn't (especially with these endings amirite?)

PS: She also looked bluer and more glowy the second time around. I thought it was Reaper tech.

She would approve of taking the rachni queen for study at a cerberus black lab, nut certainly not releasing it on the galaxy.

Nope.

She already now the rachnis are too smart to experiment with them.

Guess what! It wasn't her decision. I haven't drunk nearly enough tonight to hear debates about hypotheticals.

I agree with lilitheris about the Alignment change.

Drink drink raise your glass, raise your glass high! Drink to the men who protect you and I!

BUT, BUT listen to this. At the end of the day we can't really agree. There is no way to really prove anything. It's like a Fellini-esque circus in here. All we need are a few clowns and a large woman with huge breasts who can sing. And Marcello Mastroianni.
