The decisions to scrap some of the stuff?
There are two real extremes in this thread. One side sees Miranda one way. The other another. Only one side is "pleased" in a sense although not completly. I've been waiting for this side to appear. Others were completly astonished and hate the Miranda in ME3.
The best solution is a DLC that would flesh out her professional side. Something with Cerberus. That way everyone can get some semblence of what they want.
I don't have anything to lose if a DLC is ever made. Others do.
Hence the...animosity that frequents this thread.

The only thing Im actually upset about is that they cut her out of Cronos station etc.
There was no evidence she was ever slated to be there.

Maybe not in BioWare's thoughts, but her role was screaming for it.jtav wrote...

You could say the same for Jacob.

But that makes sense you see. After Thessia most things do not make sense. At all.
I mean, wouldn't you rather have EDI, someone who is only a few years old explain it to you?

I think your painting an overly simplistic picture there, tbh. There's been pretty widespread agreement from the beginning (by which I mean even from the time of the leaked script) that the romance stuff that's there is good. And most everybody seems to agree that there should be something more having to do with her professional side and Cerberus.
Something that provides that type of balance is really the main thing that's missing.
A lot of the disgreements really have more to do with the personalities involved, a lot of the time, I think. Or on questions of interpretation, authorial intent, personal wishlists, etc. A lot of which are a lot more hazy than, for example, the very simple idea that the role should be more balanced, we should see more sides of the character, etc.

Before the EC was released and I shut up I was well known for making Ieldra's Synthesis thread a mine field. Constant debate. Hair pulling, everything. And some of them come here, to this thread. These disagreements go well beyond this thread. My disagreements with some people in here go well beyond whether something is "OOC' or not.
Although I've pulled Ieldra's ass out of the fire when those debates go above and beyond stupid with certain people.
Personalties clash, as you state, and personal interpretation causes issues as well. People have some very different ideas of how things work. That's an unavoidable problem though. There isn't much you can do about it.
The issue I raise though, is that the Miranda that was shown in ME3 is here to stay. People who hate her in ME3 won't really be cooled off with Cerberus DLC.
I'm not angry about it. I simply wish it was fleshed out a bit more. I don't have anything to lose. Others do. If it isn't to their specifications the entire charade will begin again.
I understand different interpretations. I see it all the time. I may not agree with them but I'll always listen. The only thing is is that it begins to wear you down after a while.

Yeah, in my latest run, I didn't have Tali's loyalty but I was able to get her to survive.
It all depends on who you take with you to fight the Reaper. I took Miranda (of course) and Kasumi, since they aren't HTL stalwarts like Garrus, Zaeed, Grunt, and The Prize are.
You only need two people to survive the mission. If you bring those two loyal squadmates along for the Reaper you'll make it out.
But you have to kind of, suck to get to that point. Or do it intentionally.
I take Miranda and Garrus. An unloyal Jack survives. I send Mordin back with the crew.
My point being frail characters will die holding the line if you take two big squadmates to fight the Reaper. It happened to my friend. Tali died on him and she was still loyal. Hahaha.

What I'm opposed to in particular is the idea (suggested above) that everyone can be divided simplistically into two factions that can't be reconciled. I think that's nonsense, for one thing. It's obvious that there are many different individual few points.
It's also just not a productive way to think about things. (It's the same reason I don't really like Ieldra's breakdown of fans into two groups, posted a few days ago.)
Before my time on the BSN, so more than year ago, there was a "fanbase split" where apparently people got so polarized that they couldn't really co-exist amicably. You can still see some lingering animosity from that sometimes among some long-time posters.
Since the leak last fall, we've done a lot of things together as a group of fans, and that has been a positive thing. I'd rather not see a reversion to this idea of extreme factions. That's not the reality unless we decide to look at things that way.

I also completed the Multiplayer Challenge. So that's all set. Didn't get to ME2 today though.
The gentlemen I spoke to is a Doctor and will be here in about a month. He's excited to talk about Miranda with us.

Let me find (OR BUY) a microphone.
Unless you physically want to call me. I have a phone.

Haha okay man. Since you got Skype, I figured you had everything all set. You were always one to be ahead of the game, that's for sure.
Besides...Miranda is trying to call you, Taboo.

As it turns out I have something I could put down my throat and film with though. Why the hell do I have that? Why?
The rustling will have to wait.

You people have me running about buying everything.
It'll be easier to talk to me on Skype. Less vagueness. But I'll move faster.
Your rustling must be more severe.
