I wouldn't think of touching that cure if Wreav was in charge. The only way it really works is if Wrex and Eve are together. Their society prospers. Best. Solution.

I wouldn't give it a second thought if it was just Wreav though. Mordin agrees. And it it was Wreav and Eve I would probably shoot Mordin.

This. Killing Mordin though was....unpleasant.

If it puts the galaxy at risk with crazy Krogan putting a bullet in him is the best solution. My Shepard would feel about it but he can't jeapordize everyone if the Krogan will breed like they did before and start a new rebellion.

Especially if he picked Destroy. The galaxy would not survive.

The difference comes from being able to judge whether or not a situation requires a pragmatic solution or not. If curing the Genophage is a risk shooting Mordin is the best solution. You can't let emotions stop you. That is a KNOWN threat. Not a hypothetical. Especially with those odds.

That's why I play as neutral. God forbid you rely solely on pragmatism or absolutism.

That isn't a situation presented in the game. Not necessary. When it comes down to it you have to consider as much as you can.

Freedom. Choice. Others. The reality of the situation. That's what matters to my canon Shepard. If putting a bullet in you will save someone he'll do it. But he'll always do the Paragon Romance with Miranda.

The man who chooses to think for himself.

Glorifying as situation because it's pragmatic is wrong. Glorifying a situation because it is absolutist is also wrong.

Just saying if it was... then it would be hard to debate what is right shooting your own LI or doing what must be done to save the galaxy.

Bioware has a history of doing things like that. If I recall correctly Bohdi kidnapped your LI in Baldur's Gate II and turns him/her into a vampire. I don't remember what happens next but I think they are killed and can only be brought back with some...special thing.

I haven't played those game in years. I can't wait for them to be released in the remastered versions. It will be glorious.

Yes. On the iPad I think. The iPhone?

I think you might be able to play them on the PC though. I don't know.

I sure was excited. I loved those games.

New app! Romance content! Only $9.99!

Yeah having to have an iPhone to find out what Miranda is doing kind of blows. At least she's out there kicking ass.

It could always be worse though. Always.

Oh boy , thats what i keep telling myself, and it's the truth.

What if Miranda had to die, what if she pulled a Jacob and cheated on you, what if she betrayed you and tried to murder you...........

The horrors we could've got......

I'm just glad I didn't end up with something I resented like some of the people in here. I can't imagine how they feel.

Another testament to the goat **** polarization that is ME3. No one can really be happy and it frustrates me.

However it 1:00 AM and I should probably go to bed. I'll look for that mic tomorrow. Without it it wouldn't be the same. Your rustling must be more severe.

So somebody over at HTL community data mined the old leak, and Miranda actually was supposed to be available for end game after Sanctuary. Sanctuary was also supposed to be a hub world after you cleared it out, and if you played your cards right, Oriana took control and actually turned it into a refugee camp.

What the **** bioware. What the ****ing ****.

I don't know why this isn't common knowledge around here. Miranda being available for the endgame was a hopeful element of one version of the leaked script (there are three), as well as Oriana taking control of Sanctuary. I don't know where "Sanctuary as a hub world" comes from though.

I can only say: deadlines have ruined the story.

Suffice to say, with the exception of a slightly different romance scene, Miranda's current role was in the script. We were so sure there were one or two scenes missing. We were wrong.

As I said, there were three leaked scripts, with Miranda's role different in each of them. Miranda in a cage was part of the early version, Miranda "available for the game" part of the intermediate one and the interrupted romance scene part of the newest version. We got something close to the newest, but fortunately the romance scene wasn't interrupted.

Miranda in Cerberus HQ, the one thing *everyone* expected, even the non-fans, and which would have been at least as important as the encounter with her father (which we also didn't get in any meaningful way), that was in none of the scripts.

Err...how does it show that?

They changed this before the game was released. The other eccentrics in this thread got it changed before I was ever here.

Changes I attribute to the fan outcry:
(1) A romance scene that wasn't interrupted.
(2) The e-mail after Sanctuary.
(3) The datapad messages

I don't know about that. Miranda was in Cerberus for twenty years. I can't see her being excited about gunning them down.

Her involvement with Cerberus needed closure. She needed to confront what they had become in a more than implied way. We needed something like the following scene I posted way back in November after the leaked script came out:

Shepard and Miranda are exploring the Illusive Man's base. All defenders have been killed. In a large room at the center - or top - of the station, covered by a large transparent dome through which the sky can be seen, they find the Illusive Man's old chair, surrounded by the u-shaped holodesk controlling Cerberus' computer network. They proceed to hack it to get at the data within. Miranda has picked up a datapad, apparently lost in thought.

Shepard: What have you found?
Miranda: The old Cerberus manifesto.
Miranda (in a choking voice): Damn it.
Shepard: What is it?
Miranda: I told you I joined Cerberus to protect my sister. This....is why I stayed with them.
Shepard: I've never read it.
Miranda: I was...captured by a dream. To illuminate the dark places, to search out the knowledge out there to benefit humanity. That's what I could get behind, a proper use for my genetic enhancements.
Miranda: And if we had to compete with other species - well, I've always liked a challenge.
Miranda (thoughtful): Was it ever *his* dream? Or was I duped right from the start?
Shepard: I don't know. Perhaps we'll never know. But I do know that you don't need to justify your enhancements.
Miranda (smiles): I know, now. And you had a part in making me believe it.
Miranda (more thoughtfully): But am I naive that I still want this? That I want to continue what he betrayed?
Shepard: Don't you think there's some knowledge better left alone?
Miranda: No. Not even in the face of....all this. What have you been fighting for after all? Wasn't it the knowledge we need to survive?
Shepard: And for you.
Miranda (exasperated smile): Don't be absurd. You'd have done fine without me.
Shepard: Duty and obligation are dry masters. I don't know if I could've done all this without knowing you were out there, somewhere. Didn't even matter if I was never to see you again. Just knowing was enough.
Miranda: You're a hopeless romantic, Commander.
Shepard (grins): Someone has to be, Ms. Lawson.
*they kiss*
*some time later*
Shepard: So...what would you do with all this?
Miranda: You know what's infuriating? That everything we....they...ever achieved could've been done without all this horror.
Miranda (looks around): I'll copy everything we find here. I don't know what I'll do with it, but I won't let it go to waste.

Some people found it so fitting that a week later, it appeared somewhere else on the net as a scene from the game. If only...

Problem is im always tempted to kill wrex off now:

Eh....how do you get that? Just by killing Wrex? I've done that often and never came across Kirrahe's speech. Or does it require you to cure the genophage as well? I never do that with Wrex dead.

*on some beach with Shepard and crew, Miranda and Shepard escape from the others around sunset*

Shepard's arm slowly wraped itself around Miranda as hers did the same. The pink sand looked beautiful against the teal-blue ocean and orange sunset. It felt warm and nice between their toes. Miranda's hair flew gently in the late afternoon wind.

Shepard stopped when he'd gotten a signifianct distance from everyone else. They were still in eyesight but far enough away that the two could have a private moment on the giant beach.

"Miranda, There's something I need to tell you." He started, looking her in the eyes.

"There's something I need to ask too." Miranda said, she seemed a but uneasy. Shepard knew the feeling; he felt exactly the same way.

"Then ladies first." Shepard offered.

Miranda put her arms around Shepard's neck and leaned in close. "Two years ago, I was alone. The only family I'd ever known was my father and a sister I had never planned on speaking with. Now, my sister is living with me-Us" she corrected herself. "My father is gone, and I went to hell and back with the man of my dreams. I owe it all to you."

"I love you so much, Joesph." She never used his first name unless it was important. "And I think its time I asked you something."

Miranda bent down and got on both knees before Shepard. Shepard smiled as he fought back tears and a bit of laughter. She took a deep breath and put her hand out infront of Shepard before opening it.

"Will you stay mine forever?"

In her hand was a simple silver band. It looked like something was engraved inside.

"Yes" Shepard said without thinking. "Yes, I will" he said again.

Slowly and gently, Miranda grabbed Shepard's hand and slid the ring onto his finger. It fit perfectly; just as Miranda and Shepard were a perfect fit for eachother. A tear of happiness slid down Shepard's cheek. His smile was the most honest he'd ever been.

Extending his hand, He pulled his bride to her feet. Miranda was doing her best to fight her tears

"Now, There's something I need to say" he said with a sigh. Shepard pulled Miranda close to him; her head resting on his chest. "I'm not sure how to follow up to what you said, but" Shepard started.

"Four years ago, I died. Two years ago, I woke up from death's grip and I saw the face of an angel". Shepard could hear a small sniffle from Miranda. He put his hand softly to her head and rubbed gently. "It made my heart stop. This face I saw was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen". Miranda could feel Shepard's heart pounding in his chest. She could tell from that alone that he was as nervious as she was.

Shepard stopped hugging her and looked her in the eyes. "It was your face that I saw. Ever since then, I haven't stopped admiring your body; your mind; your persionality; everything that makes you you".

Miranda could no longer keep the tears from rolling down her face.

"And now," Shepard bent down on one knee. He pulled a metal case from his back pocket.

"If you'll allow it". He pulled back the lid of the box.

Inside was an intricate silver ring holding the most beautiful diamon Miranda had ever laid eyes on. Looking closelu, she could see that the surrounding metal work supported smaller additional diamonds. The ring shone brilliantly as it caught the light of the sunset.

"I'd like to keep admiring you; forever." Shepard finished his proposal.

Miranda was at a loss for words. She could barely breathe. For once in her life, She had no idea what to say. The ring; Shepard's proposal, her emotions; everything hit her like a truck.

"Y-Yes. I do" she sputtered. "Forever".

Standing up, Shepard put his arm around her waist. He slid the ring onto her finger. Miranda looked up at Shepard; his smiling face still expressing a million different emotions.

"Stop smiling, damn it, and kiss me" she ordered playfully. Shepard complied. They closed their eyes. Their tongues explored the other's familear mouth. They showed no interest in anything around them, just eachother.

Their kiss was followed but a sizable applause. It quickly opened the couple's eyes in more ways than one. The entire crew stood near by watching them. Shepard and Miranda turned a bright red. Had they watched the whole show?

"Congradulations Shepard" Garrus raised his bottle in toast. Most of the crew nodded in agreement.

There wasn't a single thing wrong with that day. The entire thing was...

Perfect.

Felt like bringing this back.

Not including Miranda in Cerberus HQ is a choice i will never understand. It simply makes no sense whatsoever.
I can't think of one valid reason for this choice.

it's a storytelling nonesense. What if Tali or Legion weren't there during the Rannoch arc. Or if Mordin or Wrex were ignored in the Genophage arc.

It's something so obvious and needed.

@Lancesolouse: thank you again for that read, it's really great :wizard:
