I bashed Synthesis before it was cool.

And hot_heart, I found a version of that Batarian in a dress and it sparkles. I can't find it NOW though.

In an honest defense, I headcanon a High EMS Refuse/Destroy combination victory.

. How?

Bioware's canon sucks, so I say **** you to their idea and substitute my own.

. Nice

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

. But the art I say, what about the art?

My favorite ending is Destroy.

You probably haven't heard of it yet.

Oh no. I made one of the first Synthesis hate threads and it went rather well in that regard. And then Ieldra made his Synthesis thread and I followed him there.

If I wasn't talking about art I was talking **** about Synthesis.

I don't care anymore to be honest. Since they told us what it does I backed off. Ieldra's interpretation is still better than Bioware's though. He deserves a lot of credit and praise for it.

. In my opinion, Syntheis is the worst conceivable option in ME3.  That hate thread still alive?

It wasn't so much a hate thread as much as it was a thread that simply asked questions. But they were ugly ones.

I think it's an interesting idea in the wrong story. It shouldn't be there.

I don't think Socrates could rationalize Synthesis to me.

It all comes down to how you see things. I feel that Destroy feels more natural to the story. Flawed and pragmatic.

That alone makes it more interesting to me than whatever Hardcore Science Fiction is going on with Synthesis and Control. That isn't the story I wanted told.

And I'm pleased so it all works in the end. The endings are still awful though.

Same here. I hated synthesis from the moment I stumbled into the beam the first time I played it.

LoL. Well, it seems to be the ending the writers hae settled on as the "preferred" or "best" ending, oddly enough.

I find that a little strange, given that most people don't seem to like it, and because I don't really see why they would try to sell one ending as the "best." Unless they are thinking about future games, and need to pick one ending as canon, but... other than that, I don't know.

Come on guys, we shouldn't bash Synthesis. Not here.

There are some people that like it and we should respect them.

Just like we wouldn't like if they bashed destroy.

Agreed, of course. I'm certainly not bashing it. I can understand why it doesn't sit well with a lot of people, but it does have some interesting aspects. I just think it isn't very well implemented. Ieldra's ideas on the subject are very interesting, though.

I'll stick with my own ending...

The Crucible is a weapon to destroy the Catalyst, and to free te reapers from its control.

The Crucible still can be use to destroy, control or force synthesis. During the cicles the ideas of destroy and control were conceived by previous civilizations, and of course synthesis is the idea of the Catalyst.

During the talk with the starbrat the time stops, everything around Shepard is frozen (including the Catalyst). A new figure appears, what it seems to be an hologram of a reapers. It's a Leviathan in fact, and it present itself as the avatar of Harbinger.

The avatar explains the problem betwen synthetis and organics, again. He also tell us about the construction of a Reaper, harvesting the species isn't he only thing. They also need the most destacable individual of the species to create the mind of the Reaper (this should be endorsed by Harbinger and the collector's interests in Shepard during ME2).

The avatar says he was the leader of its species, little by little more holograms appears around Shepard. The avatars of all the species that were harvested by the Catalyst. A Prothean, Keeper and Inussanon can be seen betwen the avatars.

Harbinger told us that to destroy the Catalyst, and free the reapers the relay network must be destroyed. The Catalyst doesn't inhabit on the Citadel. The Catalyst is inside the relay network, a place betwen and outside of the galaxy.

Shepard will ask about their plans when they are free of the Catalyst control. Harbinger tells Shepard that they'll help the current species in the reconstruction of their homeworlds, and they'll teach them how to build relays. After that some avatar will visit their homeworlds again, others will leave the galaxy, and travell to another because they lost their place in the milky way eons ago, they'll go to another one to prevent the errors commited in this galaxy.

New explosion unlocked choose yellow to destroy the Catalyst and free the Reapers.

Well, enough of the endings. For now Destroy and Control are my least horrible endings for now, just for the slides of Miranda doing something.

Most people don't have balls of steel though. I've come to realize that. The personalities in this thread are so strong it's difficult to not critique at some point.

At least no one hates the flashback.

*snip*

One of my main problems with the endings is that I feel like BioWare went with their big, elaborate "deep" endings just to be big, elaborate and "deep."

I feel like the original endings would have served my needs beter.

Destroy the Reapers, and hope the galaxy can figure out the dark energy threat with the little time left vs. sacrificing humanity, hoping that the ends justify the means.

It's not anything Earth shattering, but it certainly would not have pissed me off like this covoluted mess we have now.
