However, so far we have had a screenshot of Kaidan, one of Ashley, an AAP, confirmation of what at least two outfits for Ashley, confimation that the VS will be present since the beginning of the game and, of course, the Earth demo where Ashley appears and even talks.
Granted, it's not as bad as Liara or Garrus but I do wish Bioware would focus future presentations on different characters. Perharps someone from ME2?
I was with you up until this point. I agree that it should have been possible to refute it when Miranda says that just because Shepard is a great leader, he is the best humanity has to offer. However, I did not see the romance as being about that at all.jtav wrote...
Add in the romance and it's worse because it comes off as her not deserving the romance until she accepts Shepard's superiority. Sheesh.
First, there is already a hint towards it in the previous conversation. And second, the lines that lead to Shepard's "romantic" response are:
"Miranda: This is what I am, Shepard. I can't hide it. The intelligence, the looks, even the biotics... he paid for all of that. Every one of your accomplishments is due to your skill. The only things I can take credit for are my mistakes."
This is something that Miranda has been feeling all along, even before meeting Shepard. Granted, the newfound respect for the commander is mentioned but it is not the focus here.
