Ok topic of discussion.

Let's say Miranda encounters Jacob before priority Earth. How would she react to Jacob deciding to be a family man?

Be happy for him, I guess? I dunno. Seems to me like that would be her reaction.

I don't care what ending someone picks. I've been pretty clear on my reasons for Destroy and they are not the same as a vast majority of the Destroy supports.

I chose to tell the people everything in Deus Ex:HR by the way. They deserve to know.

I've never played the first one. I should probably do that...

Well to be honest, I've only been in this particular thread for the past seven or six pages. Mind clarifying your reasons? I'm curious as to how they differ.

It isn't about "Us vs. Them" to me. It's about choice. All beings have a right to choose how they wish to develop. Synthetics are the unfortunate collateral damage.

There will be no AI Overlord policing people. There will be no rewritten genetics.

All life may develop as it sees fit. Even future Synthetics, which will be rebuilt at some point.

They are free.

So correct me if I am wrong, but what I am understanding is - you believe in the whole natural selection ideal? If we build synthetics up to a point where as we cannot control them anymore, it's our own damned fault - and that our fate is in our own hands, not some AI with genocidal tendencies?

Hmmm.

Fascinating topic, this one.

I don't think she would be very surprised, and I think she'd be quite happy for him. It always seemed like Jacob was interesting it that kind of thing; he never literally says anything or implies about being a family man, but it always seemed like has a grounded dude who would want that type of life.

That's just the thing. The Stargazer scene has been proven to take place ten thousand years in the future. Mac Walters stated this. There have been no Synthetic attacks for a very long time. Certainly not within the time frame the Catalyst states. My Shepard is long dead. So is Miranda. And ten thousand years is a long time to develop technology.

The scene is there to canonize all Sheperds, regardless of the end choice they make.

All of the endings are valid now. There is no "best" ending. There is only the one that's right for your particular Shepard.

Where from Australia do you think Miranda is from? My vote is for Darwin

I'm going to go with Brisbane.

I have no idea why, I'm just guessing. I imagine the accents tend to vary in different parts of the country, so that may be a good way of telling where she'd be from.

Her Accent is the same as Yvonne's, and I believe Yvonne was raised in Sydney.

. Do Australian accents vary as much as say English or American accents?

I believe so, depending on the area in Australia.

. Would not surprise me, i know some accents from the same countries are radically different.  I'm from the American south east and I can't understand people from New England

Being an actual aussie (and yes, you lot all post that much that in my periods of trying to catch up on this thread while at work, I'm almost 10 pages behind again!) I can let you know that it isn't so much the accent tht changes - though there are some minor differences - it is more the terminology that changes from state to state. Given that, as MEFanforlife said, Yvonne is from Sydney, she and Miranda have an eastern states accent (Victoria/NSW/Queensland) which are all very much alike.

OK, back to work and trying to keep up again...

I very much agree with you on that. I like your view on the take, it is very similar to my own. Thanks for sharing it!

Of course. I'm always willing to talk. Ask anyone here. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you.

We need...another picture. I'll post my favorite.

Am I the only one who chooses Barrier as a bonus talent just to watch it during cutscenes?

instead dooming more people to die than would have if you'd just take up a little responsibility and end the war.

Just to reiterate, I fully 100% support destroy. From the content that is currently in the game, that is the best choice.

But I'm just going to quickly respond to this before I head to bed...

I don't believe that by choosing H-EMS refuse (should the option be available)  is "dooming" anyone. I think its showing faith that we can win this war on our own, which we seem to be doing a hell-of-a job without the crucible. I spent the entire game doing everything I possibly could to gather resources and unite the galaxy. And at least from my standpoint, we're winning. I don't need to commit genocide to win a war that is already winning on its own.

Of course people are going to die , with or without destroy, its inevitable. Its the reasoning behind their deaths that makes me believe as I do. If people are going to die, I would rather them die with honor, fighting for a future for everyone, not because I shot a tube and disintegrated them.

It's always amusing though. Always. There was some guy last night who got drunk and was posting about having to shoot Dr. Eva and he couldn't pass it because he didn't have enough time to shoot her. He had to reload.

He made this huge post about how pissed off he was because he had to restart the entire Mars mission.

Simply typing this has brought tears to my eyes from laughing so hard.

Don't fret.

I bet most of my posts make me seem like I'm a raging alchy, and I don't even drink.

Wait, why did he have to restart all of Mars? O_o The one time I actually did allow Eva to kill me, it just popped me back to when she bops out of the shuttle.

He didn't have enough loaded (only like 2/5 rounds to start) ammo to kill her, so he always had to reload.  You don't have time to reload and shoot her the 3-4 times that is neccessary.

...this has happened to me sadly.  Especially since I had a harrier drawn when the cut-scene started...

Even with a high EMS, that casualties rate would be catastrophic. We could win without the Crucible, but at a very high cost. For me, choosing refusal is like a child's way of saying, "Well I don't like your choices so blah!" - and I don't mean for that to come across rude.

You made the Crucible for a purpose. Use it. Don't squander it and put even more lives at risk. Yes, you'll possibly lose some more individuals in it's activation, but it's small in the comparison of how many lives you'd lose in a dragged out war with the Reapers.

His pistol needed to be reloaded. He had to do it when Eva began to charge him. He didn't have enought time to reload and finish her off. He was stuck in a loop.

He edited his post but here it is.

Correct. The death toll for using the Crucible in Destroy is far less than not using it. If you don't the deaths would be much higher.

And if the Geth are already dead above Rannoch you have no excuse.

Damn it.

I thought about going into that thread a while ago, but I never did. Now it's gone.
