Why would the alliance have problems with Sheperd? He was totally their lap-dog and won the reaper war for them.

This isn't Hollywood krukow. The Alliance is going to suck up all that information and you know it. That's what organizations like that do.
They won't let Shepard waltz in there. And he sure as **** isn't going in there with Miranda.
A name for a space station. A name for a space station.
I'll have to go sorting through my mythology books again...

And besides, I thought they head canon was that they were still going to work with the alliance, just not FOR the alliance?

Yeah, but he's a war hero. And Admiral Williams respects him.

There are so many different head canons in here I can't keep things straight.
For example, Ieldra is doing his own thing with the memory shard and Shepard coming back. More power to him.
I'm still stuck at what exactly this group will look like other than the fact that it isn't a Cerberus clone. Similar idea, less...kookyness.
I mean given my penchant for taking names from things just like Bioware I'd like something unique. I want a name for a space station now. I'm moving up.
I think I have a copy of Bullfinch's Mythology somewhere at home. I'll need to look for it once I get back.

No ****. I don't want a Greek name. That's why I'm looking for something else.

Speaking of mythical stuff, that kind of reminds me. It's funny. The original Miranda was naive, emotional, and basically fell in love because of an enchantment.
...wut?
The original Miranda was a planet where the parliment killed millions of people and accidentally created the reavers.
What the hell are you talking about???

They'll have to start all over. I think that's best though given the context.
A new station. But where would the Phoenix be based?
Phoenix, Arizona
Miranda: Really, Shepard?
Shepard: What? There's hundreds of miles of desert in all directions and it'll take decades before the restoration efforts reach out here.
Miranda: You just want a base in the middle of the desert.
Shepard: Hey, there's a long and proud tradition of top-secret, black-ops groups being based out in these deserts.

You should name it svarog, after the slavic god of fire.
Why not name it after Min, Egyptian God of Fertility who walked around with a permenant erection?
I'm looking for something more relatable. People aren't familiar with Slavic mythology. At least most aren't.
Not to sound ****y or anything (LOL WAT) but it should be a real fit. Something that people think of and say "Yes, I understand."
And not in a silly manner either. It should represent something big. Something that all humanity can relate to.

He's talking about The Tempest. It's Shakespeare.

But it's project phoenix. Phoenix rises from the ashes or from fire. You're base should be named after something fire related.

People understand what a Phoenix is though. Worldwide. That's why I chose that name. Humans know what it is. It permeates culture.
I'm looking for something that people would recognize if mentioned. Everyone.

Hades maybe?
And, although you make it sound like that's all she wants to do, that is sadly a yes.
Miranda: Why do you say you can't cook?
Shepard: You didn't see me as chef for Ramen Night on the ST-1.
Miranda: O_o ...Its ramen. How the hell do you **** that up?
Shepard: ...very carefully....

If you have to look it up in a book, then it's already something that most people don't know.
You underestimate the amount of books I have on Mythology. I could have been a Historian had I not taken the career path I have now. I know Mother would have approved of that path.
But there has to be one other name. I mean all cultures share things to some degree. That's why you see similarities between some religions and myths. We all steal **** and make it our own.
