LOL, that gif is hilarious, FABULOUS

Where is that from ?

That's something Bowie did in the nineties for HBO. He essentially plays a parody of my worst nightmare on the job. An awful film director.
His name was...Sir Roland Moore****. =]

Here's a few clips if you're interested.

I was a fool yesterday (and very tired). When kratos asked who you would romance if Miranda did not exist, I said Ashley. Much like ME3, I almost forgot Jack existed. That would be my choice.

Ha, a shame, you probably made Krukow happy for a moment.

I think i'd take Jack as well. Interesting because when i first played ME2, i hated her, so much. But after many playthroughts, she grew on me, and i found her eccentric instead of annoying.

Not surprising.  Jack is, much like Miranda, a big bag of crazy.

Seriously, I'm suprised this has never come up, but I'm pretty sure Miranda is going to need years of therapy to lead a normal life from a relationship/family stand point.

. And Shepard  won't?

I'm not talking about the war.

I'm talking about her upbringing.  There's no way she knows how to have healthy long-term relationships.  She barely knows how to have friends.

Ha, thanks, but I wasn't being too serious there. I just feel a bit silly for completely forgetting Jack. I guess my brain went 'No Miranda = no ME2 people as well?'

I was more worried that it sounds like I'm implying only an idiot would romance Ashley...but I'm sure not everyone is like krukow. ;)

Ooh, I know this one! His eye was damaged in a fight with a friend over a girl, when he was a teenager or around that time.

He's also had a lollipop get stuck in his eye a few years ago, when it was thrown at him during a concert.

Ah yes but I can be more specific! :P

He was punched in the eye when he was fifteen. Said person was wearing a ring. It left his eye permenantly dilated.

He had a lollipop thrown at him on the Reality Tour.

She gets along with her sister, Shepard, Jacob

Getting along still doesn't mean you're healthy. On her Loyalty Mission Shepard can outright tell her that this behavior is unhealthy and she attempts to justify it and she can't. All she really has is her sister. Should you pursue her as a LI she'll have two people in her life.

That's why she gets so upset if Shepard leaves her in ME3.

And perhaps this would explain...something. :?

Possible head canon. =]

You mean like why she dies if shep breaks up with her?

Miranda is suicidal if she gets dumped?

That's an interesting interpretation Taboo...

No no no. Nothing like that. Banish the thought.

I'll think on it some more and get back to you.

I'm simply working with what Bioware has given me at this time.

I think the assumption that keeping a distance from most people is unhealthy is wrong. People are different in the kind of contact to others they prefer. At the same time, not keeping a distance is not by itself healthy. Miranda is perfectly fine as she is with only one or two people she's close to. It only becomes a problem if she seeks contact and can't. Which is why I encourage her to speak to her sister. Not because it's "healthy", but because I can see she wants it.

I seriously HATE this widespread assumption that being introverted is a problem. *fumes*

How do you get that mod to run? I've heard ME3 and Texmod don't get along.

Edit:
Seeing that mod....hmmm....it seems there's another ME3 playthrough in the making.

She prevents all sorts of contact though. She states this IN game.

The response is "That's unhealthy."

And it is.

The issue is not introvertion. It's the inability to connect at all. Her character arc ends up just like Jack's. She really benefits from Shepard's influence.

Always nice to read your work.

On the subject of Miranda dying if you break up with her:

That isn't what I meant. I was being vague again.

It has nothing to do with her dying. Give me some time to formulate my thoughts!

I'm sorry, but "That's unhealthy" is ONE possible response. Not mine. Also, she never expresses a preference, except with her sister and Shepard. If she doesn't see a problem, I don't see why I should insist it is one. Really, the level of loathing I have for this kind of assumption cannot be expressed in words. It's just the same kind of thinking that says Miranda softening up means "humanizing" her. Staying distanced is just as human, damn it, and it's not better or worse than being the gregarious type. DAMN IT!

Agreed.  All you said was that she's suicidal if Shep leaves.

It works just fine, especially with the batch file to automate the file swapping. The hires thread has one.

Upset ≠ suicidal. But could be crucially important in some cases. Remember the whole thing in ME2 about dealing with stuff to get the squad’s heads in the game?

I'm actually just trolling taboo because his vague postings get annoying sometimes.
