Well, for some reason I'm quite confident Miranda will be featured in a big way in Omega DLC. Or maybe it's just because the opportunity is perfect to feature her more.

It could make sense. But, at this point, I'm not sure that's a strong argument in favor of it happening

We'll see B)

Guys, writing the Sanctuary section is hella confusing. I have no idea how Miranda found time to stop and record messages...

"Things got complicated when Reapers showed up. Far too much background noise. Sheesh..."

Well, the messages was the point wasn't it?  Wasn't she making sure that no matter what happened, people found out the truth of sanctuary (can't stop the signal Mal!)?  It's not like she was stopping to write in a diary, the messages were part of the mission.

I think?

Yeah, I was only half-serious. Just that things got pretty chaotic, yet she still found the opportunity.

Plus, I'm looking at the fact that they may not be in exact chronological order. Tying myself up in knots here...

just drink the kool-aid and enjoy the ride

as krukow said, she seemed to be just trying to get the word out, warning ppl to avoid and telling anyone that needed to know about her father i guess, they were only 20 secs or so, so she didn't take a coffee break or anything

You mean like we were confident that Miranda would appear at Cerberus HQ, even after the November leak? Like we were confident that the scene at the end of Sanctuary as it appeared in the script was incomplete? Because, you know, the opportunities were perfect...

People here seem awfully sure that having Miranda on the Cronos mission would have been great...why, exactly? What exactly is she going to add to it? Liara was great in LotSB because of the character and story developments that came with it. And her. The mission was about her. But...what is Miranda supposed to do to make the mission any different? Cerberus is finished. The station is being pounded by Alliance guns and probably falling apart.

And to be honest, the problem extends beyond that. Everyone here wants more Miranda. That's great. I approve. But I haven't seen anything better than "Miranda guns down Cerberus."

Sanctuary

Phantom: Sir, we've found Miranda Lawson.

Kai Leng: Alright.

Phantom: Sir, she's just standing there making voice recordings. Don't you want to do anything?

Kai Leng:  (pulls a sandwich out of a Blasto lunchbox)  I'm on break.

Phantom: With all due respect sir, we're in the middle of a warzone here!

Kai Leng: Sorry, It's my scheduled mid-morning break. Union rules.

Phantom: We're Cerberus agents! We don't have a union!

Kai Leng: Well that's your problem for not joining the Transgalactic Union of Assassins.

Unfortunately the ME3 experience has made me very pessimistic. I expect Miranda to not appear, i expect Petrovsky to be an indocrinated boss and i expect no choice in returning Aria to Omega rulership. Obviously i hope it turns out completely differently from my pessimistic outlook.

It's an honest question. Does anyone have any ideas other than Miranda shooting some Cerberus troops?

Well, you could have explored her history with cerberus (including her work on lazarus) via video clip.  You know, kind of how you got to explore EDI's history that nobody cared about?

Seriously, miri was dumped so I could find out EDI was a moon base that shot at me.

I expected:
(1) Miranda to help Shepard on the way into the station (that would be offscreen, most likely)
(2) Miranda reflecting on her time with Cerberus and how it all went wrong etc..
(3) Miranda making a decision (influenced by Shepard) to either leave it all behind or take up and repurpose what remains.
(4) Miranda's story arc ending exactly at the place where it all began in ME2.

Miranda should have been on Cronos to confront her former boss, the organisation she'd worked with for years to explore her work on Lazarus etc.

Really it is like excluding Mordin from genophage arc or legion from Rannoch arc. An atrocious omission.

No. Bringing back a character solely to develop their past without pushing forward is not a good idea.

If it's an honest question, maybe try phrasing it in a less antagonistic way.

It's like krukow said. She had an extensive history with Cerberus and there are logs on Lazarus: the very project on which she worked. Instead, Shepard has some sort of existential crisis with only his teammates there to say "I had no idea you were that dead." Plus, Kai Leng shows up again.

hey edi was a valuable character that was vital to the mission. you know the whole venting of airlock if she didn't come, because there was no way around that . totally wasn't wearing a helmet and didn't have mag boats that were introduced prior to that .

@ Krukow

not that it matters since you keep ignoring me:crying:

Generally, confronting the past is part of moving forward. In fact, that is almost always the case.

Why?

That seems awfully…traditional.

This partially ties in with the apparently prevalent conception that “the Cerberus that Miranda joined” was a baby seal rescue operation that somehow got “twisted to evil” or whatever. It’s hard to come up with any sensible story from that apart from “confronting her former, now-evil boss”.

Hey, woah, that stuff is awesome if you romanced Ash or Kaidan(I assume) since they finally get to understand what happened to you in your time apart.  It's total closure on that conflict.  It's important and i shan't let you mirimancers besmirch it!

It's the EDI stuff that's useless.

@Ghost
I'm not ignoring you.  I love you!
I disagree about EDI though.  We've been hacking things all game, and she could have hacked it from the ship.  That was simply plot related super-hacking designed to force me to be glad she's there (she's the equivalent of the blue key you needed to open the blue door, even though you have a rocket launcher).  Her story-related content isn't that great either.

First of all, I liked EDI and was happy to have her.

Secondly, Miranda's relationship with Cerberus has never seen a source on conflict the way Mordin's relationship with the genophage has been. She confronts the Illusive Man at the end of ME 2 if you bring her along and she quits. What more is there to say? A big complaint with Miranda in ME 3 is that she was focuses on problems that were believed to be resolved in ME 2 - her sister, and her regret for being ruthless. How is this any better?

Thirdly, the idea of Miranda taking control sounds like a lower-quality rehash of LotSB. Even if Cerberus wasn't crippled at the point, I don't think Miranda is going to be able to convince whatever is left of Cerberus to switch sides if they haven't already.

Ah, well, yeah. I don't mean to detract from what is there. Sorry.

I just meant that having the project lead try and explain it all could've been interesting. Especially if she'd been in the logs as well, perhaps sounding a little doubtful in the early stages or questioning the project. Like looking at her past self. And there could have been some different dynamic, if you weren't exactly fond of Miranda and she survived?

Bring closure to her Cerberus past ?

I think that's a good and necessary idea
