I can't imagine Shepard fallling to anything but a surprise attack.

I can imagine. I know that my Shepard wouldn't be able to figth at his best if it was Miranda attacking.

There are many players who would disagree with you. Mainly, about everyone who didn't romance Miranda.

Arrival was bad enough in that.

What? Reaper tec, it does everything.

Yes, but it wasn't the Reaper artifact that did the knockout in Arrival. That only gave Kenson time to draw her gun. She should've had no chance against Shepard. Had he been knocked out by the artifact it would've been OK. But no, they just had to insert conversation for the sake of drama and ruin the scene through it.

The knockout was a good setup for the Amanda Kenson chase. The Second knockout was some Bull, but they had to weave it in there I guess.

We are talking about a character trailer ( I think) of a returning squadmate and romance option. Those are done mostly for the fans of said character.
And in gameplay, they could just make it an option. Like the Renegade interrupt to shoot Kenson.

I'm not followying you. Shepard is knocked out twice during the DLC. Once by Object Rho and then by an explosion.
Are you referring to the second one?

Wondered if people think the Miranda/Jack confrontation will flare up again in ME3?

Also how did people play it first time round in ME2? First time round i went the paragon interrupt but everytime since as i often if not always romance Miranda I end up siding with her. A because she's my girl and B because i completely think she's in the right and Jack is being a nutcase.

I'd love to see them working together to take down Cerberus with Shep running interference to make sure they don't kill each other.

Lmao, I'd actually want them to work together at some point.   Those two are actually more alike then it seems.

I don't like the interrupt dialogue lines so I usually side with Miranda. If I want to keep Jack alive that's easy enough even if she's not loyal.

Also I don't think it will flare up again as seriously as in ME2. At least I hope it won't. I think Jack was more in the wrong than Miranda, but both didn't present themselves from their best side.

What I do depends on my Shep. I think it's split roughly even between all options.

First time around I defused it with the Paragon option.  More recently, I didn't have a high enough Paragon score (shocking!) and I wound up siding with Jack, then talking to Miranda afterward.  I found that I liked going that route rather than essentially saying "Please wait to kill each other, mmkay?"

I still think the chip was immoral and a violation of human dignity. And the stakes are irrelevant if the act is intrinsically immoral, as this is.

I was surprised she dropped that on Shepard in the first actual conversation. I was like gosh I appreciete your honesty, but I'm glad TIM was calling the shots.

As for the Miranda and Jack stuff. I don't think it will escalate, but I bet they still verbally taunt one another.

I wonder if ME3 will acknowledge if you picked sides or defused the conflict. Sure would be nice.
Can't even get Jack loyal again. Both options are terrible.

I wonder how ME3 will acknowledge the amount of casualties you had in ME2. Say 2. What will happen?

It depends what characters died in ME2, and their role in ME3. For example, Mordin will be clearly substitued by some other Salarian (my bet's on Kirrahe on Maelon) if he died in ME2.
Though the main outcome of the casualties of the SM is that no squadmates of ME2 will (probably) be permanent, if there are permanent squadmates.

Kirrahe and Maelon can both be dead along with Mordin....

It'll probably be some other Salarian STG member that served with Maelon and Mordin during their genophage missions.

I'd like to see a no holds barred cage match between the two.

As far as Miri/Jack goes, I've always taken the Paragon option to diffuse the situation. Though I've always come extremely close to taking Miranda's side. If I knew Jack's role in ME3 isn't important, I'd take Miri's side and risk killing Jack off.

You're right, I didn't think about it. At this point I agree with the STG member theory.

I doubt that they'll be replaced. Zaeed doesn't have an important roly, and while Jack could be relevant for the Cerberus plot, I don't how they could replace her. Another Cerberus experiment? Not very possible. And we already have in the team someone that doesn't like Cerberus much (VS).

It's possible that any squaddie who's dead simply won't get replaced. So the scene in the demo where we had Mordin helping us out might just play out without STG assistance at all. Shepard gets a tip that the Salarians are holding a fertile Krogan female and just has to go it alone. I doubt they'd come up with a Wrex/Wreave pair for every squaddie.

I like siding with Miranda, then telling Jack she's losing her edge, so later she can yell, F*** OFF!
