I think there are a lot of good members here, and it's sad to see it tarnished by a few bad eggs.

I'm sorry

The "Fade To Black" was probably the only problem.

I think that's very gracious of you, and I certainly applaud that.

However, I'm not trying to point fingers or call anyone out. Half the time it's not even direct attacks but, by now, I think we should all be aware of Luis' condition and should be better equipped to adjust our own reactions. We understand that he has a tendency to take even the slightest disagreement personally, but that is where it should end. Any further attempt to correct, clarify or explain - no matter the good intention - tends to exacerbate things. Best to just drop it and move on. We can't help him, he has to seek help on his own.

Besides, he's not any more annoying than any of us here, myself included, as long as he is not provoked or harrassed. He comes and goes, shows his support, says his piece, asks questions, shares pictures and stays on-topic; all things that are beneficial to the 'aim' of this thread.

Anyway, I hate to sound preachy. I just wouldn't want the thread having a bad reputation, especially when it's obvious to outsiders. If anything, it hurts the character's cause.

I am 'OK' with the fade-to-black (obviously, I would have wanted more). It's the abruptness of the apartment exit that bothers me. Though, that may be what you mean when taken altogether.

I talked with you people for three hours last night. Three hours. Funny that someone here predicted I had an accent and how it sounded.

Regardless I think that the Apartment Scene is fine.

Yep my main issue is more the absence of an outro closing sequence and the use of the immersion breaking being kicked out of the door.

An afterglow scene would have been perfect. I don't know how feasible the "naked" model would have been, but just the two lounging on the bed, making plans and cuddling.

No idea. I never played that way but since siding with Jack ends the romance I don't think there will be any difference.

Does it end the romance completely? Even if you later convinced Miranda?

Yes. You get the loyalty back but never the romance. You need to use charm or intimidate or side with her in the conflict with Jack to retain or unlock the romance.

I wonder if Miri would even like us (our Shepards) calling her "Miri?"

This is in the realm of headcanon. In my ME universe, I never find out because Cyrus Shepard never calls her that.

I don't honestly think my Shepard would call her anything but Miranda. Or Miss Lawson.

Especially the latter. That is SO in character for him it's not even funny.

Thank God he didn't derp those conversations in ME3.

In my headcanon, Alex hears Miranda was called Miri as a child and calls her that to annoy her (the don't get along at all at that point). After her LM, it's "Lawson" or "Miranda"

Fascinating. I mean that. We have so many interpretations and occurrences for our own games. Isn't it wonderful?

Like I said, I wasn't out to point fingers.

If you felt some remorse, then I appreciate the sentiment and self-awareness.

If you weren't being serious then whatever...best of luck to you.

I think it's best we try not to take things so seriously in here. This is an internet forum after all. We're all in this thread for the exact same reason, we simply have some very strong differences of opinion.

I feel remorse for dragging stuff out with him to the destabilization of the thread and the other people in it. I shouldn't target him for that sole reason alone. And it's a lost cause I know. I'm sorry about that.

I do generally try to ignore him. When he spams and gets pissy, he needs to be reigned in.

But this is also a statement of self-awareness when I say I'm not sorry to him personally. I mean what I say when I say it to him. I'm not out to insult him personally, but I do feel the need to call him out for his crap.

If the guy romanced miranda and still got her killed in SM, he should have played on the lottery O_o

Lottery? Loyal Miranda can't die in the SM. This is all very deterministic.

What you can do is this: delay Jack's LM until you got all of Miranda's romance scenes (except the engine room scene, naturally), then do Jack's LM and side with her in the conflict with Miranda. Miranda will become non-loyal and can die in the SM. Of course you won't complete the romance in that case.

well, never tried that. Obvious reasons
But every journal i read, claim that even unloyal Miranda is almost impossible to get killed in SM. I'm not doubting you, no way! It's just that well, people do tell that it's pretty much difficult to get that done!

Now,
I wonder,
your idea makes sure that the romance is not completed. But that would still result in the video jtav posted? Hhhhm..... oh damn you curiosity

Miranda cannot be killed before the final stage of the SM, but if you know the mechanics, it's easy to kill her there: (1) Take unloyal Miranda with you to the final boss, or (2) make sure she's the only unloyal team member in the hold-the-line group and that the average hold-the-line score is below 2. Best way to ensure the latter is to take two of (Garrus, Zaeed, Grunt) to the final boss.

I never do that, in case you've wondered, but I know.

I don't think so. The game only flags the romances as active or inactive. There is no romance state "was once active but now isn't."

There is a MirandaBreakup flag, but no idea what it's used for.

I'm just using the videos I linked so I can romance Jacob with a straight face.

Yeah, I understand. I know he can be annoying but, unfortunately, his behaviour can't really be helped. He's not doing any harm to anyone anyway, so it's best to just let him be.

For the apartment scene, I imagined that Shepard left her sleeping afterwards because he didn't want to disturb her. Obviously, he had to leave some sort of message though, so he didn't look like a total jerk.
