Oh, I can't stay mad at you ghost. You gave me Jacob and KFC.

But Kai Leng is a truly terrible villain. He should have been one boss battle.

One.

Retribution KL is badass. Don't get me wrong, it's not a good book, but he's at least a credible villain.

It's pretty decent actually. Not Karpyshyn's best (the Darth Bane Trilogy holds that honor) but a fun read.

And Kai Leng isn't too shabby in it.

I dicided to Hold The Line. Since I am a Dedicated Mirimancer/Mirimaniac, I will not leave because others dislike me. I will stand my ground.

Oh stop it. And Mirand would most certainly lose to Kai Leng, since he's been upgraded with Reaper tech. I kinda like his armor tho. Wish my vanguard could wear it.

I don't believe you Ghost.

I do believe that Oleg is supposed to be a little less insane than people like Kai Leng correct?

Read "Invasion". Oleg is even less of an extremist than Miranda in the sense that he is not as willing to sacrifice people.
Oleg Petrovsky is a calm, collected, intelligent and cultured man with great knowledge of military tactis of old Earth. He believes in protecting humanity without showing any indication of xenophobic beliefs. He shows respect and care for all he comes across, humans or aliens, and attempts to minimize casualties whenever possible going so far as to forbid certain strategies due to the danger they posed to both his men and the civillians of Omega. However, when backed against a wall, he was willing to destroy Omega level by level (after evacuation, of course).
His faith in TIM is shattered during the course of the comic.

In resume, Oleg Petrovsky is ridiculously awesome and I hope Bioware shows this character the respect he deserves if they do write him into the DLC.

Agree wholeheartedly

Would Miranda be able to beat Kai Leng in a fight. Not just survive but beat him

Hmm...genetic engineering vs. cybernetic augmentation w/Reaper tech. Both strong biotics. No, the best we can hope for is a draw, and that's almost what ME3 gives us.

Prison for TERRORISTS!!~

"My blood is the same colour as yours and what I do, I do to protect Earth, same as you. You don't like how I do it, that's your prerogative. But there are things going on our there that you know nothing about. Threats to the human race that no one ever hears about. Because we stop them. There's dangers all around us and whether you like us or not, Cerberus may be all that stands between you and the abyss."

Very good. Is that a quote - because I don't recall it - or have you written it?

He was already resurrected.

One more asspull won't make it any sillier.

There was a corpse with an intact brain.  He was regrown, remember?  We've discussed this.

In C and S, there is nothing left to regrow.  He's been completely atomized.

Also, the extended endings monologue takes place over events months to years in the future, and Shepard is still dead at those points.

He's dead.  Get over it.

Your lack of imagination is disappointing.

In Control, the Control entity refers to Shepard as "the man/woman I once was". Which means there is continuity of memory, which in turn means there is continuity of identity. It's an ascension. As I said in my Synthesis thread, in any ascension worth the name something gets lost, but it's not death. It's perfectly plausible that ControlShep has a body constructed and inhabits it as an avatar, and this will still be recognizeable as Shepard by those who new them, but also changed in weird ways. Metamorphosis, not death.

In Synthesis, it's perfectly feasible to headcanon that Shepard stores his memories in the echo shard given him by Javik and leaves it behind on the Crucible platform before enacting his decision. Shepard's body can be reconstructed from cell samples and Miranda's files from the Lazarus project.

The endings are open in many ways, and they are open on purpose. I might as well take advantage of it to reunite Miranda with Shepard whatever ending I have chosen. That one or both might end up transcending their previous existence in Control and Synthesis makes things more interesting.

Well BioWare has confirmed that they will in fact develop another Mass Effect game. They have not detailed when it will take place in the timeline, but I'm terrified it will be ME4 with synthesis as canon.

why would they use an ending selected by the minority?

That's bad business.

Like, I know here in the Miri thread we love MacHate and conspiracy theories, but that just dumb from a business pov...

. Jessica Merizan has said that Synthesis is supposed to be canon for future ME games, whether or not Shepard instigated it, my fears are justified

I would get upset that it meant Shep is in fact supposed to die, but Synthesis was my original preference in the first place.

I'd be more upset about Liara being named canon LI.

Wonder whom the new protagonist will be. I just hope it doesn't take place during the Prothean cycle. Nothing like playing a game where all your efforts are doomed to fail.

I like to think that a bit of Shepard lives on in the races of the galaxy. He did after all bring peace and understanding between synthetics and organics.  And Miranda can look at the new galaxy and remember the man she loved rather than cry for the man she misses, yes?

Can anyone give me a link to where Jessica Merizan said that Synthesis is supposed to be canon for future ME games? I think it would make sense for it's the only ending where they wouldn't need to explain Shepard's absence, but it would be a strange decision and while personally I'd approve of course, I don't like the idea of a canon ending.

As for Shepard being confirmed as dead....well, no. It would confirm Shepard as gone. Absent. With no visible role in the galaxy, at least not as himself, and quite possible presumed dead. That's fine with me.
