. Why Is Miranda's sterility such a big deal to everyone here?
It's a non issue. I'm less interested in that than the other parts of the dossier.

1. There has never been anything as bad as synthesis. The black death was better than synthesis.o Ventus wrote...It's only a big deal to the people here who treat it like the worst thing since Synthesis (whom I won't name).
It's hardly the worst part of her dossier, however.
Funny, isn't it? How every other dossier has at least 1 enjoyable aspect, while Miranda's is almost universally garbage in it's own fashion.

Actually it was Katcrave's comment that stuck. haha

(2) Because it makes no f*cking sense given the level of medical technology in the ME universe.
(3) Because it's one step into making her care only about family, removing her ideals about advancing humanity from her.

Yeah i don't like the implied genetic engineering is bad by suggestion vibe.
The condition is silly and as Ieldra points out should be curable.
As a plot point as of itself i don't really care as there are so many ways round her infertility Genetic engineering/surrogacy etc that Miranda will have a child if she wants one.

I think you all assume too much here. Medical science is so far beyond where it was 1,000 years ago that it would seem like magic to someone from then.
We still have diseases we can't cure.
It's perfectly rational to think there are things we can't do in the future.

Edit:
I wish the Synthesis hate wouldn't intrude here. Can we *please* stick to Miranda? To think I used to feel rather at home here.... Perhaps it's time to leave BSN. I feel the motivation to put up with the crap leaving me.

Yes but infertility is something that, effectively speaking, we can cure today (surrogacy, artificial insemination, in vitro fertilisation etc). Or at least make it a non-issue. Given the technological advancements made in the ME series, having someone affected by such a problem doesn't make sense to me.

Infertility is not something we can totally cure, though it is rare.
And in the future, the conditions may have changed. She could be exposed to things that we aren't exposed to living on earth. Or the human genome could have evolved to allow different defects.
Hell, we can't even heal the scars on Garrus' face.
