If there is an option to keep her on the Normandy, it will be for those who romanced her (or want to romance her, don't forget the new players).

It would be ridiculous to lose her as a love interest because you need her at your side to defeat the reapers.

It's a hypothetical question. I don't think Bioware would honestly do this but lets say they do for whatever reason regardless that Shep or Miranda is acting out of character or whatnot. You are sitting there with this question. What do you do?Yannkee wrote...

As you can't predict what's coming next, I would keep her on the Normandy. And when there is the unlikely scene when she ends the relationship : I stop playing the game and I throw the box by the window.
See, when I see that top picture, I once again think there is something slightly off with the way they rendered Miranda's face. But I still can't quite put my finger on it, because nothing is really wrong.Yannkee wrote...

Of course I would let her go. No question at all about it. I would do that even were there no LI status to lose, as long as it's made clear to me she does better work on her own. I do have confidence in her abilities and her doing things independently from Shepard is something I've always wanted to see.MACharlie1 wrote...
So a serious question for the Miranda fans:
At the end of Miranda's storyline, she has the option to continue a project that would be helpful in the long run in defeating the Reapers. You are faced with two options:
1. Let Miranda take over the project but she leaves your squad and Shepard having confidence in Miranda's abilities secures her as a love interest.
2. Keep Miranda on the Normandy without the project and essentially lose her as a love interest since she feels that Shep is trying to control her like her father but retain her squad membership.
What do you do?

You mean in ME2? As a rule, stick to the middle options unless you know the others if you want to avoid StupidShep. One option where he comes across smart is the Paragon persuade in the Indentured Service mini-assignment on Illium. That really sticks out. Almost out of character, in fact, if you consider the rest of the game. Also: get Tali exiled. I like the tone Shepard takes in the Renegade persuade, but his arguments in oth the P and R persuade are 100% pure bullsh*t. And take the Paragon persuade in the Tali/Legion conflict and side with Miranda in the Jack/Miranda conflict - the persuades are rather unconvincing.jtav wrote...
So my rewrites and the fc I'm doing have left me with a romantic urge? Suggestions for options to pick to get a smart!Shep and keep my blood pressure down.
I've always thought that the Renegade romance puts them on a more equal footing. She still says "You're the best humanity has to offer" and the "All I can take credit for are my mistakes", but they challenge each other more, there's some banter and she gives as well as she takes. Also there's "Don't get cocky. I'm the one who put you back together remember? And I do damn good work." which goes a long way in offsetting the other lines.jtav wrote...
Thanks. Is it just my imagination, or is the Renegade romance more tolerable in general? No "I don't have what you have" and the kiss, while cliched, is much funnier. She seems to spend more time bantering and less beating herself up. Not quite ready to eat my words, but I'm softening a bit.

I hope you're prepared for Miranda getting less screen-time then ME2...there isn't any way Miranda will get equal/more screen time. Keep in mind that Miranda was in ME2 like 90% of the time. And this time, she won't be in the "trinity squad" (i.e. Kaidan/Shep/Ash, Miranda/Shep/Jacob, Carth/Revan/Bastila, Alistair/Warden/Morrigan...get my drift?) I'm not saying that she won't be recruitable or anything like that - it's just highly unlikely she'll be around after every major mission like she was in ME2.
Unless Bioware does something great (I almost used the word awesome then I remembered awesome button...) and makes her recruitable from the get go on your first mission and the post-mission debrief scenes consist of the entire crew where she is herself and very vocal ala Ash in ME1. But even then, she would lose about 10% of her screen time being missing from the Earth/Trial sequence.

Yes. Take the middle option in the first exchange with TIM at the CB to avoid Miranda's dreadful "betrayal" line. It is also the most intelligent response, asking for some clarification before you decide.jtav wrote...
So my current plan is to renegade the kiss convo as much as possible, do LOTSB before the romance is finalized and avoid *that* line, not recruit Tali until the last possible second to avoid Miranda looking like a jackass for choosing her work area for sex and pretend damn it--you're right was the option chosen during the last coversation. Other suggestions?

Loved it. The sexual tension was off the charts.
