agreed.
And everybody needs to calm down. Your waifu wasn't the one bioware destroyed.
JACOB was the waifu bioware destroyed.
Even if you don't like it.
He was at least a loyal LI.
Jacob cheats on you and knocks someone else up because, what, he's black?
Seriously, compare Miranda (I wanted to break in there and see you) to Jacob (well, you weren't around, so you know, whatevs).

She wanted to break into an Alliance base to see him and she could have done it too.
That line is SO Miranda.

And that's the part I don't agree with.Sable Rhapsody wrote...
I think people have a right to complain when one character was clearly the dev's favorite and allocated additional resources, whether it was their favorite character or not. I understand that all NPCs are not created equal--Miranda herself had extra plot importance in ME2, and dialogue to reflect it. But allocating so much to Liara when other LIs like Thane or Jacob weren't even considered important enough to bother with is certainly grating.
I do agree with your last point, though. I really like Liara--she's one of my favorite characters. I honestly feel a little bad for her--she's strong enough a character to carry her weight without the dev coddling, and the preferential treatment only breeds player resentment.
If you feel [insert character here] got screwed because not enough resources were allocated to them during development, it's certainly valid to voice your opinion, and yes your displeasure at the situation.
But turning around and hating on [insert popular character here] because "they're the favorite", is no longer justified.
The first case, you're an understandibly upset fan. The second, you're just a jealous ******.

And LI who cheats on you no matter what.
That's just completely rediculous, especially considering the few choices straight femshep has. I mean, there are literally no straight humans for her to pick from...

She'd have played the role of the temptress indeed.
Instead she fell in love with him. How nice.

Mostly because there really isn't much of a character.
Lack of character=/=bad character.
The Allers hate is again mostly based on jealousy. "Why is Allers in the game instead of [Emily Wong, Shiala, other random NPC from earlier games, more Tali etc...] How dare Bioware spend time mocapping Chobot instead of working on my character?"
Hating Allers makes no sense, because there is literally nothing there to hate. It's a dead end.

Apparently I wasn't clear. I absolutely do not think resenting a more popular character simply on the grounds of "being the favorite" is acceptable behavior. I'm just noting that it happens a lot, and it hurts the character in question.

Would that have been worse than her dying no matter what?
I mean, they both would have been terrible, but would that actually have been worse?

Considering her behavior in ME2? Yeah it would have been worse.
She'd have looked...inappropriate.
Instead the one who ends up being heartbroken is Miranda if Shepard leaves her.
