I think the why is very important, especially in the long run—and I suspect you do, too. It’s important because exposing it, if you will, can affect future games both at BioWare and elsewhere.
I believe, to Americans, it means 'irrelevant', whereas Flemm actually meant that it is open to debate or speculation.
So, yeah, he does believe it is important.
