I don't need to hear his side. He's a dead man.

No wonder TIM assigned her to the Normandy, she has your Shepard wrapped around her finger!

Cap didn't have an abusive father who treated him like a prize horse. Miranda is a pretty much textbook case of an emotional abuse survivor.

Captain America was used as nothing more than a tool for combat and rallying the people. It wasn't his dad treating him like a prize horse, it was his country and he was proud to be that horse. I would say the difference between the two is the motivation behind the two "fathers" but the treatment was not much different.

Shepard? No. But I take a very dim view of abusive parents. "First he kept" was all I needed. Either he;s a monster or she's a lying sociopath.

So, you believe there is a justification for creating children, treating them like objects, emotionally abuse them and then discard them if they are not perfect enough.

Again, we just have Miranda's word for it. The man is innocent until proven guilty!

The man sent armed mercenaries to kidnap a young woman.

Miranda is the one who did the kidnapping. The man was just trying to get his daughter back.

No he isn't. Every genre has its conventions. In BW RPGs companions are generally honest about backstory. They may lie about one or two points, but they almost always reveal this within game. Miranda lying about her father would invalidate her entire backstory.

By sending armed mercenaries? Hey, here's an idea:
If he was scared of Cerberus protecting Oriana, then use Eclipse as bodyguards and approach her. Explain what happened 19 years ago and attempt to extablish a connection.
Instead he sent armed mercenaries to bring her by force. That proves he has no consideration for the feelings of his daugther, who is already an adult mind you, which matches the description Miranda gave of him.

Your point? I want him dead because he's scum. I don't care what Shepard thinks since he's the other person I want to die a slow, painful death.

He's a DEAD MAN! One shot and rush of biotic power are all I need! >:(

He treated Miri like a tool, treated her like trash! >:(

And tried to kidnap her sister.

What about Miranda? The whole thing was about what she wanted not what Oriana wanted, who didn't even know Miranda was her sister until the end of the mission.

Mr. X's side of the story needs to be told before I pass final judgment.

I like the squad mates and some of the world building and the combat is fun, but I hate Shpard. Idiot Marty Stu with the emotional depth of a teaspoon thanks to ME2. Lazarus destroyed any connection I have to him, so I want to put him out of my nisery.

Woah! Are you a Miri fan or not? Miri wanted Oriana to be safe. She RESCUED
her.

She saved Oriana from a cruel man. She didn't want Oriana to go through the crap she went through because of that ass of a father!

He was the one trying to kidnap her.

You can counter and say that what she wanted was to get back at her father. Even so, there had to have been something to motivate Miranda to act in this way.
She ran away from her father, the richest man in Galaxy, at the age of 15/16. We know that Miranda wishes to make a difference which can be much more easily accomplished with enormous amount of credits.
Something wrong had to be going on.

who didn't even know Miranda was her sister until the end of the mission.

Irrelevant.

She had noble intentions but she didn't factor in what Oriana wanted who's the one who should ultimately decide whether or not to remain with the father. Regardless the law is on Mr.X's side.

The problem is that Mr. Lawson also wouldn't take into consideration what Oriana wants

Regardless the law is on Mr.X's side.

That depends on what he did with the ones that came before Miranda. And the CPS would probrably want to have a word with him.

I believe in this case, it all comes down to what the father wanted, with no concern towards either daughter.  In my perspective, Miranda did the right thing because she lived through 15-16 years of a terrible life and not being able to achieve anything without it going towards the path her father wanted.  Think about it, if you were in her position, you would assume and think the most likely outcome for Oriana is what Miranda was put through during her life.  I believe, being put in that position, Miranda did the most logical thing.

Or so we're told...

He probably put the others up for adoption. Nothing funny going on there.

Or... you might not actually know the whole story, maybe Miranda's perception of the situation is slightly unreliable like Jack's was with Teltin.

And if you encounter Mr. Lawson in ME3 and he tells you his side of the story would you trust him instead of Miranda?

We're back to this? Sending Eclipse to bring Oriana back to him by force is not proof enough for you?
