And Ieldra already joined just as I was posting. Synchronicity...

You'd better share ideas.

Bowie did lots of covers. There's a rare one out there of him covering John Lennon's Imagine. Hoo boy is that good.

I'd like feedback on the Phoenix thing, obviously it's still in the beginning stages. All are most certainly welcome.

That means you Ieldra. I want to hear your ideas.

Indeed it is. Wake Up (and Arcade Fire in general) was already an awesome song; throwing Bowie into it only amplifies the awesomeness. He also had a great performance of "Life On Mars?" at Fashion Rocks 2005. You had better pepper your angus, because this is absolutely chilling.

I'd give you some ideas, but it's late, and I have nothing for you. ^_^

You'll get them. May have to wait a day or two though. Work...

So much for now: I'm thinking of writing up a mission statement, something like the Cerberus manifesto. I've always liked the "explore the dark places" metaphor and I think exploring where others fear to tread - in science and in space - should be a major focus of the Phoenix Group (and no, I don't mean atrocities but simply risky ventures).

I'm not so sure about the "protecting humanity" aspect. I think under Miranda's leadership, the Phoenix Group would be less humanity-centred than Cerberus had been, and gain an aspect of "protecting civilization from unknown threats out there", but the former aspect shouldn't be lost completely. How would you balance these things?

Perhaps I should also post this in the group.

Edit:
I also like the quote.

Don’t worry about it. When I lived in LA, I was constantly exposed to the kind of Hollywood wannabe patois that the guy exemplifies. The place is chock full of them, and they all talk like that. Vague allusions, suggestions, hints at insider knowledge, powerful friends…almost always BS.

Sort of like your posts. You're intentionally making direct personal attacks with the intent to provoke and insult. You do it in other threads as well.

A troll.

And if you actually read the post, you'd know that he's talking about something completely different here.

If you're going to insult a person, then I'll say that my hometown is a lesser place knowing that it was disgraced by your presence.

I make it a humanity focused group that works with other backroom organizations of other species. It doesn't take active steps against any of the other races, but its not going to let humanity be left behind in the dust either.

It's the same in that it works to promote human interests in the galaxy without necessarily causing harm to other races goals.

And with the alliances and friendships that Shepard has brokered with other races (and the favors and services that he has also done for them), he's going to be taking actions that are of mutual interest with other species.

He's a big proponent of bucking the current system so that everyone gets their fair choice. The last system nearly let the galaxy burn.

Provided she still lives, the Salarian Dalatrass will be the biggest threat to Shepard and his organization.

It will be much smaller in size though as a group. About the size of Carmichael Industries for the Chuck fans out there.

Sort of like something completely different? That’s not a particularly good segue into what you wanted to say. I never intend to provoke, just insult.

A troll.

One more person who doesn’t understand what trolling means. Color me shocked. You can ask Taboo-XX for a clarification, he claims to be one himself.

And if you actually read the post, you'd know that he's talking about something completely different here.

Yes, yes, without you actually defining said different, I’m sure the case is whatever you imagine it is.

If you're going to insult a person, then I'll say that my hometown is a lesser place knowing that it was disgraced by your presence.

Aww. It’s true. But that doesn’t change the fact that they all, in fact, do talk exactly like that.

LOL.  She was a horrible b****.  But like it or not, she can have a point depending on how the Tuchanka situation plays out.  You have to live in the galaxy you save, and living in a galaxy with a cured krogan horde led by Wreav is not my idea of happy fun times.

. But in all honesty how many people had Wreav not Wrex?

I <3 Wrex. Wreav was Thresher bait.

But yeah, had Wreav been in charge, I wouldn't have cured the genophage. But I'd still be okay with offing Linron as well. For being an insufferable ****.

I wouldn't have cured it either. Worse yet is if Eve is dead.

But with Wrex and Eve the Krogan have a much brighter future.

I'm sure Miranda would be hesitant though.

I tried to kill Wrex for science and couldn't.  But just because most people didn't make that decision doesn't mean it shouldn't be taken into consideration.  That way lies the graveyard of Thane and Jacob <_<

She shows some hesitation in ME2 when you talk to the injured Krogan in Mordin's loyalty mission. And she does have a point.

What if they do cure it and go on a rampage again?

But I think that she'd come to accept Shepard's decision if she knew Wrex and Eve worked so well together.

. I think that's a reasonable assumption, not to mention there's nothing she can do to stop it now

The slides show that if Wrex and Eve are in charge all you have are babies so it's safe to say we don't have a Genghis Khan scenario at work.

And Wrex would be a great ally to have for Shepard post war. Miranda would certainly understand that.

Miri's usually cautious when dealing with unknowns.  For example, she recommends salvaging Legion and sending it to Cerberus rather than waking it up.  Can't really blame her--something as big as a renewed krogan population will always have a dramatic effect on the galaxy, and there's no guarantee it'll be positive.

A fair point.

Shepard's judgement is paramount in ME3 though. I'd think she'd learn to accept it once she learned that the right people were in charge.

But I also know she'd understand shooting Mordin or talking him down.

I think she'd favor curing it if Wrex is leader, not so much if Wreav is leader
