Hmm so this is a pure picture thread these days, eh?
Guess there's nothing more to say...
Incidentally, I seem to recall someone saying they finally made a mod for the black suit in ME3. Anyone play with it/have screenshots?

If you mean her black loyalty outfit from me2:

They shoulda've add her as temporary squadmate for Sanctuary mission.
They should've had her for Chronos
Too late for that ^ obviously, but I hope that Bioware realises Miranda's above average popularity and will consider giving her a role of some sort in a future ME game, preferably one that doesn't involve the safety and well being of Oriana.
Also, don't make her an Alliance rear admiral, that's just an invitation for childish humour...

She's my favorite squadmate, but when she mentioned her sister on my first playthrough, I had to say, 'not again'.

Yep, let's bring back Jacob Taylor: "Uh, Shepard... About my dad.. Well, he sorta escaped from the planet we left him on..." ![]()
and just like that the magic is gone ![]()
I found it strange that they didn't do much with her in ME3 beyond making her a potential bang.
It seems they invested tons of time and money into developing this character. Only to barely use her in ME3
Her roster of powers are godly: overload, warp, incinerate, and reave.
She deserved better than a mere 3 appearances. This is the extremely reliable woman that gave Shepard another chance at life. The least you can do is romance her.

not much traffic in this thread (to be expected I suppose) but I will be starting a new playthrough soon and Miranda is basically the canon romance for my Shep (romancing anyone else feels weird)
So I wanted to ask why do you romance Miranda? I know Liara and Tali are much more popular and have more screentime but I think that the romance is still pretty rewarding (especially with the Citadel dlc)
Well the first time I played ME2 my reason for choosing Miranda was a little silly one: first, I'm a sexual racist: I don't date aliens (except Liara, sometimes) so that leaves Jack, Kelly and Miranda. Jack I never liked, and while Kelly is very nice my idea at the time was that I am Commander Bloody Shepard, the hero of the galaxy: I don't date my secretary, I go with the alpha-female. ![]()
Now, many playthroughs later I got a little different point of view. Miranda doesn't start out very nice but she quickly becomes nicer from the first dialogue in her office on. Her reluctance to get involved with Shepard I think shows that she is afraid to loose something she cares about: 'just don't die, you promise me, damn it'. Which I think is totaly consistant with her story about cutting ties with everyone she knew when leaving her father, her unwillingness to get to know the simplest things about the guys she's bedding and her protectiveness of Oriana. It shows the presence of deep feelings who are being surpressed and hidden away behind a mask of though-ass coldblooded career woman. Also, I think her stance toward Oriana has something to do with her being infertile: her mother instincts have been diverted to her baby sister so now she's defending her with a flaming zeal.
One thing always struck me as odd: Shepards final argument to pursuade her. Miranda says: 'what bunch of idiotic hormones thought that now was a great time for love?' Shepards 'paragon' answer is basically: 'forget love, we're just screwing'. How is that a paragon answer? I thought it should be some bloated inspirational speech like: 'those feelings are what make us human, and isn't that what we are fighting for? Why we are puting our asses in the line of fire: the right to claim our place in the universe and be who we are, to love the ones we want to love.'
Instead I usually go for the middle answer now.
Anyway... In my opinion Miranda is an excellently written character and it was a joy to have her in the two games, although they could have toned down the ass shots a bit. Still, I think she kinda shows that there is no reason a female character can't be sexy and nothing beyond that. I wonder if Bioware ever realised her above average popularity (I mean she's certainly more popular than say: Samara, Jacob, Thane...) and maybe, just maybe, they did at the very end of the trilogy: after all, she was the one character (plus Traynor) who got two interactions with Shepard in the Citadel DLC.

^very detailed answer and I agree completely
I never got the hype with the Liara and Tali Romance (very overrated, especially Liara I never consider her the canon romance that many fans think she is) it feels weird they are more like little sisters to my Shep
with Miranda you have to work she doesn't start fangirling over Shepard (like those two) as soon as they meet but slowly you get to know her and develop a relationship
its more mature and adult she is also the closest equal the Shep I love how it develops
sadly very underrated Tali and Liara would always be leading in such polls
but looking back I'm still satisfied with the romance arc (although Bioware always tried to make me romance Liara) especially with the Citadel dlc its rewarding
btw I always thought the paragon answer was strange with sheps weird face what does he say if you pick the neutral option?
^ 'It doesn't matter. What matters is how we feel'... More of a paragon answer than the actual one, if you ask me...

Who wouldn't want to romance Yvonne Strahovski for one? She's drop dead gorgeous and has an incredibly sexy voice. Eye candy and sexual appeal aside though, Miranda also just comes across as strong, fierce, capable, and independent. I don't particularly enjoy women who are portrayed as damsels in distress and cannot take care of themselves. At the same time, Miranda does have a vulnerable side as well, and she'll only open up to you if you work at it.
Miranda gets a lot more hate and criticism than she deserves because of the gratuitous ass shots and her form-fitting gear, but she is by far one of the most well-developed and compelling characters in the Mass Effect Trilogy. I really wish she could have been a companion in ME3 rather than Tali who had already played a major role in the previous two games.
After her I would say Liara comes second, Kelly third, Tali fourth, and Ash at the end. I didn't care for Liara in ME1 at all, but grew to appreciate her in ME2 and then ME3. If not for Miranda being in the picture, Liara would definitely have been my Shepard's romance. Kelly is a given as she is fun, playful, sarcastic, but also serious and caring when she needs to be. I always saw Tali as a sister more than a romantic interest, so I never pursued that, and I liked her with Garrus anyways. I romanced Ash in ME1 because I found the girl next door personality to be refreshing, but BioWare butchered her in ME3 and made her into a barbie doll to try and make her more appealing I guess? I found her hairstyle to be out of place for the military and was dumbfounded by how her breasts went from being average to gigantic in the course of six months (in-game time)...

Because she's slutty. irl I either go for the slutty ones or the sweet feminine ones.
My choice was largely based off of who was available.
Liara was my Shepard's bang in the original game. She had a very feminine mystique about her.
Ashley was extremely annoying in the first game with her try hard LOOK AT ME I'M A STRONG WOMAN attitude. Miranda has a cool confidence that comes natural. Ashley still has her challenging attitude after she gets banged by Shepard in ME1 and is hanging out in his room. Watching that scene on youtube made me think good thing my Shep didn't have to live through that experience, and I'm an idiot for not saving Kaiden. Ashley takes the entire female empowerment thing way too far, and she has no feminine charm because of it.
By the time ME2 and ME3 roll around Liara largely losses her feminine mystique. The years of being a hardened career woman begin to take a toll as she becomes androgynous. tbh my Shep still banged her in LotSB for old time's sake despite being with Miranda. Liara was the one to recover your corpse after all.
Jack is the badazz tomboy you might hang out with every now and then. She's too crazy and angry for my tastes. These girls aren't worth the trouble irl.
Tali was a dork. You know all those jokes you hear as a kid about putting a paper bag over her head. Well, I wasn't going to let my Shep bang someone with a mask over her face.
Miranda falls for Shepard but is also totally cool with just being your little ****. There's that dialogue exchange where she admits to loving you. You can respond that you need to pump something, and it doesn't phase her. She even clears out the engine room, so a dirty little bang can happen.
Mir isn't emotional but cares the most about you out of all the romance options. Only one to cry if you dump her. She cares so much that she can't help but die without you in her life. Personally, I get annoyed by girls who can't help but make all these dramatic declarations of love.
If MILF madness is your thing, Miranda is 4 years older than Shep.
In order of preference:
Besides, Miranda has nobody if you don't go for her. She obviously won't do her sister. Jacob has a baby mama. Mir is sterile to top it all off. She did a lot for you. It's time to give her a lot in return.
Liara likely has Prothy. Jack doesn't seem to need anyone. Tali has your bffl. Ashley has Jimmy

Question to others who romanced Miranda:
Am I the only one who think that her death on horizon is a more fitting end to the romance than her lazy goodbye in London?
I don't want her to die but I thought the scene was done very well and full of emotions in contrast to that the goodbye scene sucked..
Is there some way to do the Citadel Party with Miranda before Horizon? maybe through a save editor?
thanks for any help
I believe Genghis Khan once said: 'nothing is worse than death, for with death all hope is lost.'
Anyway, while the death scene is a rather good one, its unfortunate implications are that, one: Miranda was defeated by Kai Leng - come on: Miranda's designed to be an übermensch, she can take on a silly space ninja - and two: Shepard didn't care enough to respond to her hails or grant her support. So in that regard: no I don't think it makes for a better romance story.
I also find the goodbye scene not so bad: Miranda still shows reluctance to get emotionally involved with someone who is likely to die, but Shepard as always takes a firm stand and will defy the odds: 'sure, things will change, but on our terms'. I also like the image of Miranda staring towards the Milky Way, knowing that it owns it's existance to the man she loved and that he might still be somewhere out there - it's my pc's current wallpaper in fact.
One more thought: when Shepard's turned into a charred piece of charcoal in the red ending: who's the obvious person to put him back together as she has done before? ![]()

hmm I see your point after the goodbyes with Liara and Tali hers seemed so cold so I watched the death scene and rather liked
it but you are right freaking Kai Leng shouldn't be able to kill her
Well that of course is part of the larger problem of most Me2 characters getting the shaft in Me3.
If I could make a wish for the next-gen remastering of the trilogy then it would be to have all those characters be selectable squad mates (temporary or not) in the appropriate me3 missions - such as Mordin in the Tuchanka missions, Legion on Rannoch and Miranda on Horizon and Cronos station, as was most likely Bioware's original plan.
I'm not so fond of that picture ^^, the face seems all wrong...

one can only hope
well at least her citadel content was amazing
That picture is terrible. I prefer the image of the real person I linked.
All of the ME2 character, with perhaps the exception of Mordin and Thane to a lesser extent, really lost out in ME3. There were just too many characters for BioWare to juggle and not enough time. I would have been fine if James Vega, Javik, and even EDI to an extent not being added as new crew mates. To me ME3 was a last chance to truly culminate everything that happened in the last two games, and I would have preferred BioWare focus on the extensive list of companions we already had. What's done is done though. Hopefully Yvonne Strahovski will make an appearance in a future game given Miranda's extended life because of her genetically perfect body. Anything is possible.

I agree but they really screwed over the ME 2 characters especially Miranda its such a shame it was like you said the final game and instead of going all out they shafted the complete ME 2 crew
I just saw this pic: http://fc04.devianta...ack-d5n2j2f.jpg
with Miranda in it and damm this is how it should have been
^ Aahw! That selection screen looks so gorgeous! - Also because it has both Ashley and Kaidan.
