It's a conspiracy! The writers want her dead! Run for your lives! rabble rabble!
*throws hat away* Wasn't even mine...
In all seriousness did you:
a) Import with Miranda loyal?
give her the resources?
c) warn her about Leng?
d) do the interrupt on that snivelling weasel we're told is her father or shoot Oriana in the leg?
e) continue the romance if romanced?
If yes to all and you are still having trouble, yeah it's a weird bug and you should seek help immediately (i.e. Gibbed)
lol you know, I never bought the "Oh the writers want her dead" thingy. But now that I look back at all the bloody things you have to achieve to make her survive, it does feel rather ridiculous.
But in the end there might be hundreds of different reasons why the writers decided this, we can only speculate and will never know. Might be an interesting question to ask the writers if ever possible.
On PC you can use Gibbed's ME3 save editor to check if you really did everything right. The guide posted has plotvariables you can check to make sure. http://forum.bioware...complete-guide/
If you simply want Miranda to be alive after Horizon
Set plotbool 20687 to TRUE
and plotbool 20278 to FALSE
Quick howto: Plot tab -> Manual -> Bool get/set
I'll get around to looking at my PC saves at some point in time. Pretty curious about it, but I won't be setting no plot variables. If she died in the playthrough, she died.
It also looks unnatural: it doesn't fold the way hair is supposed to fold and not a single hair goes a different way, like they're all glued together...
The "I will hunt you down" option is probably my favorite renegade dialogue in the game, if not the trilogy. It's especially good for me because I RP a more paragade Shepard who tries to be diplomatic when possible. Only here, Miranda and Oriana are involved, so Henry Lawson made it personal when he went after somebody close to Miranda (and put Miranda in danger in the process). There's no diplomacy, there's no talking it out. If he lays a finger on either of them, he will get crushed into a puddle of bloody pulp and fed to the husks.
1. First meeting in the Citadel with positive outcome (ask her about her situation and promise to help).
20182 True 20183 True 20741 True 22698 True
2. Second meeting via Specters terminal - we do not have the data yet, so if you do, please share. 3. Third meeting in person on the Citadel - give her the resources she asks
21872 True 21873 False
4. Miranda BreakUp: finally, thanks to Jereee, we have PlotIDs for breaking up with her in ME3. If you did break up and you have changed your mind and want to keep Miranda alive, set
21751 False
My Plot Flags:
20182 True
20183 True
20741 True
22698 True
21872 True
21873 False
21751 False
In addition:
2. Second meeting via Specters terminal - we do not have the data yet, so if you do, please share. set to True. When I did the comparison I found the following changes from False to True. 20184 21085 22700
And also Int: 10491: 3 -> 1 (this number is 2 in my save before the tower).
And my plot flag:
20184 True
21085 True
22700 True
I didn't find the Int value. Not sure where that's in the Gibbed.

lol, I pretty much RP the same thing. Shepard will always seek peace, but anything concerning Miranda and her loved ones, he shows zero tolerance, zero mercy.
@niniendowarrior: Rofl, if that's the case, then I guess your game was corrupted by Jack =p
After reading much, I'm thinking the integer variable must be the missing link.
variable: 10491
I don't know where this is on the gibbed save editor. Any help?
Found the flag (Row 462 in the Int table) but I don't know which saves coincide to which part of the game. I did find saves before Admiral Koris was saved.
Value was 5.
Somewhere after, the Value was 4.
I had taken some save near the end game. Value was 1.

I suppose we can say it's likely the writers were going to kill her and realized their mistake too late. The resulting mess is... well problematic for a lot of reasons.
Did you miss me?
Hmm, I like the cut as a concept but this shot does look a little strange. I think the face textures clash with the hair. Maybe in different lighting. Miranda and lighting seem to have frequent disagreements. Besides, loyalty outfit=instant win as far as I'm concerned.

Meh, that's just Tuesday for my Shep. Threaten him or anyone he's deemed his (even crew) and he will end you. Painfully. Efficiently, but without mercy.
Ok, seriously, it's great to see people are still here.
Many memories eh JB? Not all of them pleasant. But good times overall. If anyone else is still kicking around, let'em know. This place lives.
I know right ?
Some things just can't die:
Pfft. Miranda conquered death. Should we do any different?
Man I remember when ME3 hadn't come out yet. People kept spamming, hoping the devs would read their posts, believe that was what the fans wanted and wrote her like accordingly. Ah, the naivety of youth.

I do too, though I'm waiting to replay the Trilogy.
First I want to see what they have in mind for the next Mass Effect and also they might (probably) release a definitive edition of the trilogy.
It's funny because as bitter as I am with Mass Effect 3, it did teach me a great lesson regarding expectations and was a great reality slap in the face. It really taught me to read between the line of the developers.
Also you raise an interesting question: should writers ever follow the desires of the community on how should the character behave or should they stick to their own vision ? And how can they know what does the community want since people have very different perspectives on the same character (rofl, remember our....."civil war".....oh Lord).
