Some of the best games ever have pre-defined characters. Deus Ex and The Witcher 2, for instance. Possibly countless others. And guess what: people play them! The Mass Effect universe isn't restricted to one kind of game. I'm sure a stealth-based game with Miranda would find many fans.Clonedzero wrote...

if theres an ME4 or anything, you'll be a new creatable person, like shepard.
could miranda show up or play a large role in it? sure. but you wont play as her, that'd be lame.
''No one'' Who are you to speak for everyone? You're in for some hell, if you keep that attitude up.
by no one, i implied not enough people to make creating such a game a priority, profitable, or reasonable.

Go talk about the Miranda deserving a spin off game that can be as long as 3 alpha protocols and say she's more deserving than characters like Wrex in the General Discussion forum. I dare you.
And why should I waste my time in the general forum with this. Wrex isn't an LI and as such doesn't draw haters who prefer someone else as an LI, so of course there would be less disagreement to your proposition in the general forum. But popularity doesn't make potential. Also, the kind of game you would get with Wrex likely wouldn't interest me, while the kind of game I would likely get with Miranda.
Now can we please stop talking about Wrex? I *really* don't like krogan. If I want a mercenary game, I'd rather have one with Zaeed.
While I really disagree with I won't push any further on this topic because I don't have the time and this isn't the topic for it. Continue talking about your fanfictions, Miranda discussions and the other things you normally do here.

Aye and, while it may not be like much like Tomb Raider series, still if we're thinking about sales having strong and good looking female character as main character, it does draw in some new people.

yes, but miranda is part of the Mass Effect IP. the mass effect IP is owned by bioware. bioware tends to have customizable player characters and are unlikely to deviate from that since their fanbase would hate playing a pre-defined character.Ieldra2 wrote...

yes pre-defined characters do great, but while miranda is one of my favorite characters, a miranda based game wouldn't make any sense to be made. niche market at best when tehy could make ME4 with a new "shepard" and do MUCH better.

They could give a license to Obsidian - the people who made Alpha Protocol. And yes, it likely would have less expensive VAs, fewer characters and less complex dialogue scenes than the ME games and save money in a few other aspects too, but then, different games are made for different player bases.
@Filuto:
A sequel to the ME games is problematic because of the widely diverging outcomes of ME3. I'm not sure it could be done without offending a significant part of the fanbase.

You mean like what happened with Knights of the Old Republic 2....even though that was great game in it's own right...even if a bunch of stuff was cut out of the original game( though i hear you can mod that stuff back in...I should consider grabbing that for the pc as well...LOL).

i highly doubt bioware would license the mass effect IP to obsidian, its too valuable of a franchise to be tarnished by obsidians buggy programing. also, miranda is not a popular enough character to warrent the investment in the development of her own game. if any character was to get their own spinoff game, it'd be garrus.Ieldra2 wrote...

a sequel is absolutely possible, throw it 100 years in the future where they have enough time to rebuild. allow for shepard to be "imported" simply for referencing sake. and bam, you got a sequel. not a large enough portion of the fan base would become offended by having a vague canon ending. by vague i mean "reapers died, and these races lived' thats all you'd really need to set as canon if you put it a couple decades in the future.

yes you are right something like this was mentioned in article that maybe it would be possible import saves from ME3 to ME4 and universe in me4 would be influenced by shepard decisions.. but this idea of course was not part of me cerberusIeldra2 wrote...

Definitely. As I said, different games are made for different player bases. A tactical shooter would likely feature Garrus, a spy game would feature Miranda.Seboist wrote...

What about a ME3 DLC featuring Miranda during her escape from her father,..
I'm behind on this thread, but I've long thought that DLCs - IF they were of LotSB quality - for various characters could be a cash cow they could milk for quite a while. I don't know what they spent on LotSB vs. what they made, but the platform is already there and all you need is more writing, animation and VA, plus the odd new weapon or enemy type and maybe some minor technical enhancement to the gameplay, and you have a $7 DLC, about 14% of the cost of the original game. If the story is good, it'll have appeal beyond fans of the character - I never played ME1 and wasn't a Liara fan until I played LotSB. I played it because of reviews that said it had substance and some great environments to play in.
Almost all of these characters have plenty of material waiting to be dug up. Might involve some minor retcons to their stories in the ME series but that's not a catastrophe.
