Nah I loved SR1 ever since Eden Prime. It's partially because I don't feel like I am on a ship when moving around SR2. The badly placed cinematics and loading screens do a great job at removing that feel. :?

I agree about the loading screens. And I miss the airlock scene of the SR1.
But when I'm on the SR2, I feel that I'm on a ship. Not a military ship, but still a ship.

Someone from Bioware (don't recall who) said they'll try to implement seamless loading, so there's some hope that the loading screens will be gone.

Yeah, hopefully. Also I saw no reason for the cinematic, where Normandy leaves a planet instantly, after you board it. Only to land again almost instantly, because you have more than one mission on that planet.

I think that miri could appear early in the game because as you can see in earth gamplay of me3 it begins on earth and reapers attacking .... shep is running with anderson and than normandy is shown to rescue them.... so based on what Casey Hudson said at comicon that game begins on earth and your friends are all over the galaxy so you must mobilzed them to fight reapers .... in the way plot will be similar with me2...... you travell across the galaxy and gathering your crew (allies) so i think it could be possible that early in the game miri recruiting mission will be available.

Of course she's in the game, I don't see why people even question that. The only problem is that she might be only for one single mission, which is nowhere near good enough for me.

There is no way someone as important as Miri will only be around for a "single mission."

BioWare would lose us for doing that.

We all want to see more for Miri.

@Filuto:
If I may repeat what is known so far:

(1) Miranda will be in ME3 if she survived ME2 (Casey Hudson)
(2) Her romance will have some kind of resolution (Casey Hudson)
(3) She will have "several scenes" (Mac Walters said he was going to review several scenes with her)

I hope, unfortunately he (or an another dev) also said that the squadmates system (temporary / permanent) will be different.

I don't think it will be a another "recruit your team" scenario. In ME3 it's more a gathering allies (factions, races) scenario.
I think some squadmates will join or leave the ship (even the VS and Liara), because of your decisions or some events during the story.

I wanted to say that the main objective of the missions will be to have new factions or races at our side, not to recruit new squadmates. I think there won't be recruitment missions in ME3, just opportunities for characters to join or leave the ship depending of circoncenses.
You will certainly have to help some of them because they will be involved in something important that can help you against the reapers.
I just hope Miranda will be able to join early in the game, and will remain with us for a long period.

If bioware dares to cast Miri by the wayside in favor of any other LI, I'll just download the game to slap them in the face for neglecting my favorite squadmate.

I hate it when the thread gets like this *waves Liara and VS flag*

I think Miranda will have a significant role. Cerberus is a major antagonist. She's connected to Cerberus. She's also one of two people alive (TIM being the other) who understands Lazarus. Will that translate into squad status for a significant period of time? Maybe, maybe not.But she won't have a five minute cameo either. I'm more concerned about her being transformed into something unrecognizable.

Well yes, I like ME2 Liara better, too, but you must admit that her change was too drastic to be believable, and that her ME1 personality wasn't compatible with being the Shadow Broker. She only got the job because she can't die, and that I resent.
And now they put her on the ME3 team as a central character in spite of her job as the Shadow Broker. That is really blatant favoritism.

That's another possible problem, yes. I can wait that out more easily than the other, though. I do not believe that saying "She'll be present for more than one or two missions, given the right decisions" would be a big spoiler.

Considering ME1 Liara was my most hated character in the entire game and she's now my second favorite, I don't care. I realize this makes me a hypocrite. Lack of screentime is something I can mentally fix fairly easily simply by imagining her doing something interesting when she isn't with me. I can't fix her being something I don't like, except by killing her.

If you really want to play to ME3, I don't understand why you would not buy the game.
Considering what I saw, ME3 will certainly be a good game. They don't deserve that players don't pay to play the game.

Like I said, if there is something that bother me too much in ME3 (lack of screen time for Miranda, for example), I don't play to the game.
I don't do this to "punish" Bioware, and it would be ridiculous considering all the Mass Effect stuff I already buy (ME, ME2 digital edition, ME2 CE, DLCs, lithos, posters, action figure, t shirt ...). I do this because I don't want to play to a game I won't enjoy.

Well, if they ruin a franchise for me, then they'll deserve exactly that. Though I see no reason for DLing it either, if you don't enjoy it. So it is rather pointless, but would they deserve such thing? I think they would.

This sort of proves the point about her change.

WIth Liara, Bioware have certainly proven that they're willing to sacrifice character integrity if it suits their plans better. I can understand the anxiety. It's the same for me. Only her character development would be a big spoiler, so I don't find it annoying that they won't reveal it now. With her team member status, I find the lack of information annoying. Also I want to see her in the presentations and demos instead of that !&%$ Garrus.

What gets me about Liara in ME2 (LoTSB)>ME3 is that they are making her a squadmate, and presumably a Normandy teammate/squadmate as well. Now, what happened to Liara being the Shadow Broker?? All of his/their resources, intel, contacts etc on SB's ship which Liara herself says she wants to use, but is now brought back into the fold of Shepard's team for the finale...that just sounds odd in concept to me.

Why build up a character so much, albeit a supporting character, get them where they want to be, give them their resolution...then by the next major events in the new game scrap all of it and put her back on the squad...I mean I would understand that decision better if by the beginning of ME3 she has built up a remote connection so to speak to SB's network, that would work but not if they bring her out of SB's area completely.

Wait for ME3. It can happen!

Seriously though, I do want Liara and the VS in my games. They're in the upper tier of characters as far as I'm concerned, and I don't kill characters I like because I'm jealous of their screen presence. That's reserved for characters I do not like when I'm annoyed with their presence.

@GuitarShredUK:
That's exactly the point. I wouldn't mind a completely NPC Miranda we could only interact with at her base if she had a role as big as being Shadow Broker. But Liara's fans have their cake and eat it: she has a big role in the plot - the biggest after Shepard - but she's also, against all plausibility, a permanent team member.

Fortunately the trilogy is soon over, if they just finish it in a proper manner, I can happily move on to something else entirely. As long as Miwi gets a proper ending I am happy. I am starting to like Shepard less and less, as time goes by, but I hope that'd change in ME3 as well.

I wouldn't be too surprised, if they somehow had the Shadow Broker ship destroyed or dismantled by the Alliance, though that would be quite hard to keep as a secret, after which they'd have the interface installed onto the Normandy and za zing... There she'd be, with Edi taking care of the things, while Liara was groundside.

I'd probably take care of Liara in ME2, if I could. I don't like that characters, that I am not too fond of,  are being forced on me. And the fact, that she's awfully mushy mushy with Shepard by default is just... weird. I liked her in ME1, but in ME2... Not so much.
