Seriously though, I do want Liara and the VS in my games. They're in the upper tier of characters as far as I'm concerned, and I don't kill characters I like because I'm jealous of their screen presence. That's reserved for characters I do not like when I'm annoyed with their presence.

I said this to show that those who don't like Liara can't even kill her.

I also want Liara and Kaidan in my games (even if Liara is not one of my favorite), but not at the expense of Miranda.

I am still crossing my fingers that no squaddie will be a forced permanent in ME3....am hoping and praying we (each gamer) will be able to choose our own permanent squads out of the ME1 & 2 squad pool...that would be awesome...

Regarding character integrity, it's not just Liara. Anders and Aribeth were also very different. It's almost a certainty that if a character has a large role in two installments of a BW series, they will be very different. Which is the other reason I can't get upset about a small role.

As much as I like DAA Anders, I'd prefer if he wasn't present in DA2. His character development was horrible (in my opinion).

About Liara, I liked her more in ME2 than ME, but I liked her in ME too. And I can understand her change of personality, both for what happened after Shepard's death and for the fact that she was young in ME.

Not necessarily, you can have to take decisions which can impact the fate of entire races, and you could be forced to kill one of your squadmate (like Wrex in ME1). The Quarian/Geth conflict can also have an impact on Legion and Tali presence.Concerning Miranda, I don't know ... maybe she will join if you decide to use Cerberus ressources after taking control of the organization, and she will leave if you make a decision that threaten humanity survival.

Alex is pro-Cerberus, anti-Council, and (when ME2 rolls around) anti-Alliance. It'll be interesting to see what kind of galaxy he gets.

Miranda as victim would be truly unfortunate. I consider blackmail considerably more likely. I don't consider a resistance fighter scenario likely. And I think a great many players and Shepards are going to want her dead when the truth about Lazarus comes to light.

I'm not a fan of the damsel in distress either. If it was similar to Garrus' recruitment I wouldn't mind I don't think, but if she is stuffed in Kai Leng's dungeon only to be rescued that would be disappointing.

Ugh. I hope that's not the case. I'd hate if something happened during the Lazarus Project that causes me to get angry with Miri. I doubt that could actually happen, but I'd hate to be so turned off that I wind up romancing someone else (*cough*Ash*cough*) even when Miranda still manages to have a large role (as the only way I think I could bring myself to romance somebody else is if Miri's role in ME3 is insignificant).

Why? The ends justify the means since Shepard is the best chance to stop the Reapers. I think most rational players would realize that a messy chance is still better than no chance. I find the idea of her understanding and applying Reaper tech that fast to an unheralded experiment incredible.

I have read various snippets that seem to indicated that the VA is holding out or has not confirmed returning and MAY not be back for ME3. Is this true, has it been resolved, or is it just a bunch of internet BS?

If Shep is stuffed with the kind of Reaper tech that would enable the Reapers to utilize them as a weapon of their own, that might not only make me upset with Miranda, but may be enough to be a game-breaker.
