Sorry to intrude, but I figure the Miranda fans would be the most in the know about this. I have read various snippets that seem to indicated that the VA is holding out or has not confirmed returning and MAY not be back for ME3. Is this true, has it been resolved, or is it just a bunch of internet BS?

I haven't heard anything about holding out, or anything saying Yvonne won't be back, but they haven't said anything really at all. I'm personally 99% sure she will be back voicing Miranda.

Yeah, I haven't heard anything like that either. And I don't think any of her current films give her as much coverage as ME2 or possibly ME3. I see no reason for her to be holding out. :innocent:

If Shep is stuffed with the kind of Reaper tech that would enable the Reapers to utilize them as a weapon of their own, that might not only make me upset with Miranda, but may be enough to be a game-breaker.
I don't think that is really her fault. I could see the hate of her not telling Shepard, but I think that is more of a writing/plot issue than Miranda's character.

I'm not a fan of the damsel in distress either. If it was similar to Garrus' recruitment I wouldn't mind I don't think, but if she is stuffed in Kai Leng's dungeon only to be rescued that would be disappointing.
It's not because we have to rescue her during ME3 that she will suddenly become a damsel in distress. She can still show that she's capable before or after this.
Of course I would prefer that she appears stronger than anyone in ME3 ... but she's human, and she can fail or make mistakes, occasionnaly.
If Cerberus decides to chase her, because she's considered as a traitor, I hope she will able to save her sister but I can also imagine her falling into a trap while doing so.

Yvonne is the ONE AND ONLY Miri.
I didn't mean to imply otherwise. It would be odd for her to have another VA, especially since she is also the physical model.

Why? The ends justify the means since Shepard is the best chance to stop the Reapers. I think most rational players would realize that a messy chance is still better than no chance. I find the idea of her understanding and applying Reaper tech that fast to an unheralded experiment incredible.
You forget the significant chunk of people who think anything Reaoer-related is evil by default. I think it may have been stupid, depending on exact circumstances but not evil, and I won't resent her. But there will be knee-jerk hatred.

If you are refering to her tweet some months ago. She only said that she's not allowed to talk about it, nothing more.
It would be stupid to hire someone else, since she's also the face of Miranda. And she's a very talented VA who has been nominated during VGA last year.
Unfortunately, she's very busy right now because of the last season of Chuck. So she won't be able to go record her lines soon.

Odd yes. And also absurd. I don't want Yvonne to be replaced.

I agree, and I can see a situation where she bites off more than she can chew like Garrus did. I just don't want her to be Princess Daisy if she does.

I wasn't around these forums until semi-recently, but how did people react to Liara handing your body over? I know it isn't as extreme, but they are comparable situations. Did people lash out at her and blame her for you working with Cerberus, despite if she didn't risk anything you would still be dead? And yeah it could end up being ruined by something stupid. I'm not ruling that out all with the writer's track record and Cerberus.

I'm not worried. Even if she's softened a little bit, Miranda would not appear so weak.

And Yann is right. Even if she's softened a little bit (I <3 her character development), Miranda would not appear so weak.
If she is captured, she can most definitely find a way to escape while we are finding her.
I can see it now. While trying to save her, we are ambushed. Then Miri comes out of nowhere and saves us instead. Telling us the we are late. And so comes the wonderful reuinion scene we've been waiting for.

Yeah, possibly, if they try to have an episode to air during the holidays.
But anyway.. If she's not the VA.... Well....

Casey confirmed to a fan that she will return as Miranda. Keep in mind that I don't think Yvonne is filming Chuck every second of her life. Recording sessions can go up to 4 hours. There's plenty of time for her to record. And it's not like they film in Australia - they film Chuck in LA which is where one of Bioware's recording studios is located.Melrache wrote...

They changed Liara's french VA in LotSB. (I'm glad I don't play in french)
I can't imagine they would do something so stupid for Miranda.
Miranda without Yvonne's voice is not Miranda anymore.
