And anyway, I think Miranda's accent is quite subtle, when you compare it to what it could be.

Also depending on how you look at it, some people in the thread are so defensive about their opinions and get offended too easily and I'm not referring to anyone in particular.

So it's not just me. That's a relief.ViSeirA wrote...
I also notice the tone of her voice far more than the accent, which almost seems non-existent.
Imagine her speaking with an accent as heavy as Donovan Hock's. *shudder*

I would like to see her that way, too, but I hope the danger of indocrination never materializes for Shepard. If Reaper technology was used in the Lazarus project, I'd rather have the uncertainty hanging over Shepard's head. I still hope there wasn't any though. I want this to be a genuine and original achievement.jtav wrote...
Ieldra, I agree with you. I'd love to see her defiant and defending her choices even as she works to prevent Shep from being indoctrinated. That would be the Miranda I fell for.

Same, I live in rural United States, so her accent is very distinct for me even if it is subtle.

I stand by you to be yelled at, if it comes to that. I agree 100%. There are few tropes I hate more than the "Power of Love", and the thought that Miranda needs redemption I find....extremely disagreeable.jtav wrote...
Would you guys like to yell at me some more? I've been doing some more thinking about the romance. It's interesting how a couple of traditional things are subverted. Miranda is older and more experienced. Shepard only has a few months of experience when it comes to galactic affairs (see ME dialogue) while Miranda is well-traveled. She was born to a higher social class, and is likely still better off. Games aren't really the right medium, but it's something I wish they'd touched on more. And it's one reason I'm keeping the base--to prevent this from becoming a story where Miranda is redeemed through romantic love and keep it as something that subverts the white knight fantasy.
Let her stand by what she has done. Let her defend her choices. Apart from that, I trust her so far that the reasons for her choices were rational.

We've seen that in action with the Jack romance.
Bioware really doesn't like "renegade" romances for some reason...

I agree with you on the fact that Miranda doesn't have to redeem herself, especially because of love. As Seboist said, this already happened in Jack's romance, and it wasn't that good in my opinion
Though I don't see how this is linked with the decision on the CB. She resigns even if she doesn't have a romance with Shepard.

Anyway, my larger point was that Shepard can't offer the things we traditionally expect a romantic hero to offer. Protection? She can take care of herself. Money? She walked away from more than Shepard will ever see and can still support refined tastes. Purpose/community? Cerberus already provides that? She's insecure, but that's it. This is not a woman who needs anything Shepard can give her beyond what any person gets out of loving and being loved.
I agree with you. The way I see their relationship is between two person that are equals. Miranda is capable to take care of herself without Shepard's help. We already have in ME a female LI that fit the "white knight" romance stereotype (Tali). I don't want another one. (I'm not bashing Tali or her romance. I just want that the various ME romances follow different paths).

Same. To me, Miranda has a pretty strong accent, just not on the Hock level.

Miranda likes taunting femshep with something she can't have apparently.

Um, would anyone be interested in tweeting the devs to confirm whether or not sleeping with Miranda is necessary for the romance to import in ME3?
I don't use twitter, but I think it'll not be necessary. From ME to ME2, the romance with Kaidan, Liara and Ashley is imported even if you didn't finish all the dialogue with them. I don't see why they should not let the romance been imported in ME3 without the sex scene.

The conversation progession indicator (apparently 1 to 6) is imported, yes. But for the flag "romanced X" to be set, you need to progress past a certain point. I believe it's the last romance conversation before Ilos. Once you are past any possible romance conflict the romance is "fixed", so to speak. Perhaps ME2 works the same way.hhh89 wrote...

Only one playthrough with a romanced Miranda? HereticSeboist wrote...
I've been progressing through my Mirandamancer playthrough I've given my Sheploo black and yellow Cerberus colored armor (like I do all my Sheps) and as an added bonus I decided to give him the Archon Visor so he could resemble Miranda's AAP2 armor more.
Since I have no Archon Visor I opt for using the mod that removes the visor from Miranda's AAP2 armor. They are a perfect match in most of my games. I've posted the screenshot often enough that I don't have to repeat it....
