I guess it's even possible she might be dead. Given her association with the Lazurus project, I suppose that is possible. Perhaps she leaves Shepard with instructions on how to bring her back. Could be pretty epic, actually, especially if romanced.

I think seeing her vulnerable at times could be beneficial for her character, and for the overall story of the game between her and Shepard (if you choose to romance her). These are some of the most touching scenes in the game, and they make it seem a lot more real. I'm not saying she has to be a complete and total puss, (which she will never be), but everyone has times where they are vulnerable.
This all the way ... her having a vunerable moment does not make her weak just makes her human and a lot stronger character. That end of the her Loyality was perfect example of this and rank in my top along with
That Scene Ranks up with one of best Strong character vunerablity Moments one tops along with the Lightning and Snow scene in FF13 on Gran Pulse talking to and about Serah.
Gotta love it!
It would be romantic, but I doubt Shepard has two years he can stalk around a lab, and billions of credits to require everything needed to bring her back to life.

True, that had occurred to me, but a lot of that time would have been research, trail and error, etc. It might not take as long again, especially if Miranda prepared for it in advance, knowing TIM would be seeking vengeance.
In a sense you are being truthful as well. The chances of survival were indeed slim. Fortunately it's a miracle to see everyone that everyone survives, including Miri and Us (Sep of course).

Miranda is weak--possible signs of torture--but still functional. She asks you to do what you do best and shoot things to provide a distraction while she escapes. Oh, and there's Cerberus data in it for you too.

I agree. I love these moments.
I can see such moments again in ME3, maybe even more touching.
The problem is to not add too many moments like this, so the character doesn't appear too weak.
Exactly, but I think Bioware gets that.

When will we see a screenshot of Miranda?
Response was a feign about whether she is alive in ME3...and he backed out of answering it.
And
How will NOT bringing Miranda to the final section of the SM affect ME3? Will she still be allied with Cerberus?
He responded again as before BUT he said something along the lines of she will tell you her motivations in ME3.

He meant as if she survived ME2.
He found a loophole to get out of answering that question and he used it

I could see that - more of twist - she gives herself up in order to not protect Shepard because TIM always has somethting up his sleeve. To which Has to march into Cerberus hideout #6 and get her out. Reminding that her life is not as worthless to them for her to think that she can throw herself to wolves to save them.
