So, temp or full? I don't think we're looking at less.

That will not please those who hope for a s/s romance. They can't go back to ME2 and romance her.
I know, and I would be more than happy to have the option to romance Miranda in ME3, regardless of ME2, doubly so because the existence of that option would likely mean that Miranda is in the game and on the squad a lot. I'm not holding my breath for that at this point, though.

So, anyway, yes, absolutely, s/s love for Miranda! Woot! Whatever it takes to get her on the squad LoL.
The s/s romance possibility is something I already added in my list of reasons why I want Miranda as squadmate during a long period.

F/F Miranda AND permanent squad member. I love it when good things come in packs.

Hard to say. The vibe I'm getting is that there will be enough dialogue for a longer presence. On the other hand I also get the vibe that Miranda will be focused somewhere else than Shepard's team. So we probably won't get "permanent after acquisition", but how much less than that I don't have the slightest idea.jtav wrote...
Not to mention the possibility of "damn it--you're right leading somewhere."

I will say this: if she has a large role in the game and new players can't romance her, then expect some disappointed new players.
Only an idiot, would jump straight into ME3 without going through ME2 at least. They deserve it.

Oh I don't know, that seems a little harsh. Not eveybody is on top of these types of things.

This. Too bad Miri is not with us at the beginning. Running and escaping while Earth is under attack. During the entire beginning of the game I'm going to be wondering where Miri is.

Incompetence shouldn't be rewarded, since it only breeds more incompetence.

My Shepards who romanced her will also be worried about her. I wonder how they'll explain her leaving. Likely it's because she's still wanted by the Alliance for her time with Cerberus, even if she resigned.MASSEFFECTfanforlife101 wrote...

Whatever, it's a video game franchise. Anyway, I was mostly offering that thought as perhaps an encouraging notion for those who want to be able to romance Miranda starting in ME3, s/s or otherwise.
She's a character that players are likely to want to romance, new or not. So the option might very well be there, unless her role in the game prohibits it completely for whatever reason.

I hate to be crude flemm, but I'm going to have to agree with Melrache on this. Seriously... who in their right minds would wait until the very last game in Shepard's story to experience this trilogy? It would be like if the creators of a famous and strong TV series suddenly decided to make huge sacrifices in favor of bringing in new viewers, while at the same time angering their long and loyal fans who've been watching since the beginning. Who in their right minds does that? This is probably my first and only complaint with BioWare so far.

Well, tv series do that kind of thing all the time, actually, where a show is repackaged or whatever to try to rope in new viewers every few years.
Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a discussion of whether or not Bioware should try to appeal to new players in ME3. I understand that is sensitive because longtime fans are looking for a big payoff (as am I).

If they're that freaking stupid, that they can't even come up with 15-20 euros to buy at least ME2 ( for PS3 players), then they shouldn't be catered to in anyway for ME3. Trilogies are a package, if you want to jump in from the middle without experiencing the first chapters, then you better be ready to pay the price.

If you haven't known Mass Effect so far and want to jump in, it makes sense that you would want to start with the currrent game since it's the most polished, instead of the technically outdated ME1 which is somewhat clunky in certain aspects, and only play the whole trilogy from the start once you've decided if you like the concept of the universe and the story.Shepherd10 wrote...

I agree with this sentiment. ME3 is not coming out for a system that neither of the first 2 were available on. ME1 & 2 were available for the 360 and PC. ME2 is available on the PS3. There's no excuse for not playing at least ME2 if you want to play 3. Though I do feel Miranda should be available as a new romance for FemSheps. I've been of the idea that since their VAs have to act out the romance, they should have a say in whether or not their character is bi (unless canon directly states otherwise).Melrache wrote...

As for Miri's role, if she's not going to be with us for the whole game, I'd want her to be away at first doing something to contribute to the war effort, then join us later on and stay for the rest of the game.

Not to mention it can be difficult to find older installments. You wouldn't believe how hard I had to look for a PC copy of ME1.
You can get digital version of ME2. It's not that hard to get... Seriously, no point in trying to make it harder than it is.

There are many good games and tv shows out there that I have never tried because they just don't fit my schedule, or I just don't care (yet), because I haven't gotten around to trying them.
ME3 will be the introduction to the franchise for many. So it is an important design consideration to make their experience as enjoyable as possible. As long as the experience of returning players is not sacrificed and the big payoffs are there.
We might be surprised at how different the experience is this time around for new games as opposed to imported games.

Yes, she was. Apparently there's some unused recorded or written stuff in ME2 for that.ViSeirA wrote...
Wasn't Miranda intended to be bisexual at the early stages of ME2 development anyway? that's what the wiki says.

Not necessarily. Male and FemShep use the same script. And I kind of doubt they seriously intended their cover girl to be bi. But because Shepard initiates everything, she plausibly could be.
