I'm getting the infamous "not available in your country". Youtube hates me.... if anyone knows a way around that I'd like to know.

Just picture the trailer where the guy in the Tower of London says basically, "OMFG the Reapers... if Shep doesn't bring help soon, we're all dead" or whatever, then cut to TIM on the dance floor on Omega with an asari, waving his hands in the air, with the flashing caption ***shoulda kept the base***, ***shoulda kept the base***. That's pretty much what it is.

In combat I guess it would work basically like a flash grenade, but more powerful.

"Hit the left trigger for a refreshing Paragon Punch today!"

"Paragon Punch....OH YEAH"

"Paragon Punch, part of this complete breakfast!"

"I'm Commander Shepard and Paragon Punch is my favorite drink on the Citadel."

.......ok, i'm done.

So, as per watching the video mentioned a couple pages back...is anyone else just freaking pumped for the 'deep romance' he talked about? Because personally, when it came to romance (or at least topping off the romance), I think ME1 did it better than ME2.

I romanced Ashley in the first game, and the buildup was choppy, and kind of random until they had their almost kiss 'I want you to be happy moment', and the sex scene before the suicide mission personally felt like it meant something.

In ME2, the build up with Miranda was ten times better (as was the fact that I was with Miranda) but I feel like the sex scene (though hot) wasn't enough. The fact that just out of the blue after she practically said she loved you, she chooses the Engine Room, of all places, to have sex just threw all of the romance and time taken to build up to this point out the window.

Dammit! Bioware promised me tears! I EXPECT TEARS! (Even though it may not be because of the romance...I just kinda wanted to add this in somewhere)

I think the ME1 romances are vastly superior to ME2. You have the locker scene. I can cheat, but it's because I have a specific story running in my head and not because of what's onscreen.

I don't know... I prefer the tasteful suggestion of nudity in ME1 to the dry-humping in ME2, but otherwise I prefer ME2 on essentially all counts.

For example, the ME1 romance with Liara actually cracked me up. You talk to her like twice and she tells you that she finds you fascinating and can barely keep her composure.

As for the choice of the engine room, the motivation for that is open to a lot of different interpretations, which is probably reason enough to choose it over her quarters. Most basically, it might be just a way of keeping a bit of distance, not making it too emotionally intimate too fast. There needs to be some in-depth follow-up in ME3, of course.

All and all, I really like the romantic dimension of these games, it adds a lot of soul that would be missing otherwise, but there is plenty of room for improvement on the depth and details.

That's what I mean flemm (as per the first part). The 'suggestion of nudity' as you put it, is something I wished we had in ME2. It seemed (or it actually is) every romantic scene between Shep and a character is like "Let's see how hot we can make our latex and rubber suits from our dry humping" XD

Yeah, it's not what I would prefer tbh. But I suppose there may be some constraints or ratings issues at work.

Yeah, I understand that. But a 5 second span of skin (that isn't even terribly bad) wouldn't be so bad after kicking butt and splattering face blood of your enemies all across the place.

They got paranoid from all the flak they took for the sex scene in ME1, so they toned it down for ME2. Nowadays there's plenty of games (even some EA games) with full on nudity, so they could probably get away with more, but time will tell.

I agree 100% as far as what I would personally prefer.

I think it;d be better if they went fade-to-black and spare me the embarrassment of dryhumping. Put those resources into better romance build up.

^^ I agree. (to the post above the one I pointed too. XD)

Standing alone, just watching the scene without playing the game it's sexy (as I fell in love with Miranda, as well as Miri and Shep, before playing the game) but after going through the motions of romancing her, the scene is a total let down.

The most touching part was when he snuck up behind her and just held her with his hands on her stomach. The rest is just Miranda taking her shirt off (which, I won't complain) and a whole bunch of romance fail!

The Romance scene wasn't a let down to me. Every Moment with Miri was romantic, amazing, and worth it to me.

Though I share your ultimate and obsessive love for Miranda, the romance scene could have been ten times better.

And why bring it up to her first? What if she was to bring it up herself?

Some fans migth not like the idea which would then lead to a very awkward Renegade dialoge option. Better to leave it to the player.

I have no problem with it. I had no other LI's in the past. ME2 first. And when I saw the scene I was shocked in a good way. I couldn't wait for that scene. And the more a progressed with Miri, the more excited I was for the culmination.

As per the Miranda bebeh, I feel that she would be practical about the situation (like scary practical). I feel like she might have wanted a kid for more or less a safe companionship, instead of the alternative of actually...ya know...loving someone, and I'm sure the news of her infertility would come to her as an 'Oh well, onto the next assignment', though, that might change with Shepard, though, (like many people have said) only if Shepard brings it up.

EDIT: And not during the game...
