Hi all, am new to these forums but thought I should give my support towards the cause, so go easy on me! I hope Miranda gets a prominent role; the more frequent the better!

Welcome to the thread!

Despite those limitations they still gave us a nuanced, intriguing character in Miranda Lawson... but I do think she would benefit from more 'face time' in ME3 to tease out some of the stuff that could only be gleaned through implication in ME2.

It depends what you compare it to, I guess. I thought the character development in ME2 was generally better than in the prior game by a pretty wide margin, largely due to loyalty missions and more extended dialogue chains for the romances. 

Part of that added development was universe-building, especially where certain cultures are concerned, such as the quarian and krogan missions, but overall I thought it was a step in the right direction.

As for getting more in the next game, well, sign me up, obviously

I select the hair area, lower the saturation to zero, darken the lightness, then erase around the hair. I had to do more tweaking with it in this one than the first one because of the lighting, and I had to tweak around with her skin, but it's simple. You do the same thing with the eyes, just change the color and enhance the saturation so they're vibrant, then erase around the irises. I think it's a lot easier than taking the lasso tool around it and going from there.

Got it now just have to upload it. I didn't make it though, just found it online one day so you may have already seen it. It's the only miranda-ized one I've seen so far.

Yes, I'm optimistic too, but that's more because what the Bioware people said. They may let themselves be inspired by some of the ideas brought up here (hopefully), but very likely our numbers and activity has meant very little for deciding about Miranda's presence. The Miranda fans active in this thread are inconsequential in number compared to the hundreds of thousands who had her in their squad often (she was the most used squadmate in ME2) or who romanced her. As far as popularity has had an influence, they would've looked into the gameplay statistics.

Having said that, I wonder if they will release romance statistics at some time. Not now - that would only fuel the shipping wars - but some time after ME3 has been released. She must've done pretty well, given that Miranda and Tali are the only LIs with their own fan articles.

On another note, I thought of all of the LIs Miranda's was the most well written but like most of the overall character development felt rushed/ undeveloped. This is evident in some people stating that her resignation from Cerberus felt 'out of character'. Basically I'm afraid that if they use the 'Shadow Broker style' they would create that same 'rushed' feeling.

Yep. That's the main reason why I think she should have a longer presence on the team - more time for interaction and more time for her story arc to develop. And squad banter, of course. It would be a shame if all that potential between Miranda and Ashley or Kaidan went to waste.

Miranda has to be one of the most romanced. I mean, I can name 5 of my friends right now that bought ME2 just to romance Miranda cause they're kinda pigs and she's beautiful  I know my first Miranda playthrough, I was already a fan of Yvonne Strahovski and told myself "Miaranda's hot so lets try it". Then I got to love the character.

And I'm sure there are other people out there who thought the same. Most players that started with ME2 romanced Miranda. I do not know for a fact but I think it's a safe bet. At least for their first playthrough. People who don't know the story or any of the characters will 9 times out of 10 romance Miranda if playing ME2. Let's face it, CoD players who try Mass Effect 2 are going to chose to have sex with a "perfect" woman over of an alien with big hips.... just saying. One of my close friends that I got in to ME thought that and after actually playing the game, he fell in love with Miri and got hooked to ME and all his playthroughs are Miri romances except for one with Liara cause I told him to (I'm a Liara fan too )

That's interesting anecdotal evidence, xlI ReFLeX lIx. I didn't know people went that far as to buy ME2 just to romance Miranda, . Did they come to appreciate her as a character at some time?

I know the other part well though - romancing Miranda in every maleShep playthrough. I cannot stick to my ME1 LI with any maleShep and romance no one in ME2, and Tali and Jack don't appeal to me as LIs. Tali is a good and dependable friend, and Jack....her writing outside of the romance and her voice acting is so good that you can't avoid appreciating her at times, but as a character she's not my cup of tea. Liara I've romanced with one of my femSheps in ME1, and I'm glad she has become so interesting in ME2.

It's probably not even close tbh. There was a Dorkly poll around Valentine's Day on this topic, which registered Miranda above 40%, Tali around 25%, and third place was "Nobody" at 13% or so. Not that those results represent a definitive assessment by any measure, but the votes were in the thousands (6 thousand or thereabouts), so a bigger sample than you would find in a poll around here, for example.

Her hair color is not too dark, and her eyes have not been recolored.

Seriously why recolor her eyes with an awful blue, whereas she has the same beautiful blue-gray eyes.

Agreed, Yannkee. This is by far the best "Miranda-ized" Yvonne. One question though: In ME2, Miranda's eyes are exactly the same color as Yvonne's, right? It appears that way to me from a superficial look, but I never checked.
