Something that caught my eye while looking through the achievements a second ago...I noticed that Miranda is labeled 'The Prodigal'...and Niket says in her loyalty mission that she has been taking her father's money for years. I wonder why they named her that, unless BioWare had some sort of plan to follow the Parable of the Prodigal Son and ultimately have her reunite with her father; though that seems completely unlikely considering her severe hatred for the man.
^^Interesting DLC material right there.
Prodigal actually means wastefully extravagant. I wonder, is that really about Miranda or her father? She tells us a story about how her father is such a douche and test tubed himself 2 daughters (while somehow stripping away evidence of their mother). Which is funny considering they're GIRLS, so I wonder how accurate Miranda is in that assessment.....maybe she will go back one day.....

For what it is, your story is good. You avoided the common trap of focusing entirely on the dialogue and the brief glimpses we got into Shepard's psyche were rather well done.
I especially liked the backstory you gave him since it matches most of my own headcanon. There is a lot that could be written about Miranda and a Colonist Shepard who failed to protect his little sister.
Niket said: " You took his money for years." This implies that she no longer takes any money from Mr. Lawson.LexieTheT-Rexy wrote...
I don't think it does refer to the time she lived with her father. The whole story comes together with repentence.
And Miranda said: " I threw away everything he ever gave me when I ran." Not much point in throwying away stuff that could be sold if she's just going to steal his money.
Besides, "The Prodigal Son" doesn't necessarely means "repentance". It's much more commonly and simply associated with the return of a child who ran away from Home.

He's spot on. It seems everyone on this thread is starting to find any inch of info they can possibly get their claws on to try guess what ME3 is going to be like! Not that I blame anyone, i'm dying for more Miranda related news and we haven't been 'fed' with info in quite awhile... Hope it is worth the wait:blink:

I know. D: I don't know how much longer my patience can last.
I recognize the textbook definition, though I suppose I romanticize the story more so than simply resolving to believe she was wasteful. That's no fun.

While it's true, as you point out, that the term actually refers to extravagant, wasteful spending, I think the connotation here is mostly "a child who has left home," from the biblical parable. EDIT: I see others have already suggested this, sorry.
Still, it's an interesting thought from Lexie.
If there is a deeper meaning, I doubt it has anything to do with money. The main "resource" or wealth Miranda received from her father were her genetic modifications. Also a curse, perhaps, in certain ways, but certainly a valuable gift. So, it could refer to Miranda's use of that gift, which, to her father anyway, might seem wasteful.

In any case, Miranda still has alot of unfinished story arcs; Cerberus, Oriana and her father. Without a doubt her story has more potential then any other character from both Mass Effects... I'd be extremely pissed if they don't do a good job about it or make her an insignificant character, but hey... thats just me lol

and if miri doesnt have a part in the main story or like 50 side missions to resolve all her story arcs and a romance option and a permanent/long temp squad status then all of her potential will have gone to waste.
BTW Who here killed Vega at the citadel or Illium i forget which one

But I agree. Miranda has so many stories behind her that need to be resolved. Hell, BioWare could create a game just around her character for all the crap she has gotten into. XD

Lol, I hope so. You know how one comes to the realisation that Miranda is such an awesome character? On the one hand you have people who love her to bits, while on the other hand there those that hate her guts. It's quite interesting that she seems to be the most loved and hated character thoughout the bioware community; at least she gets the attention she deserves
