It's quite interesting that she seems to be the most loved and hated character thoughout the bioware community; at least she gets the attention she deserves Image IPB

Yes, well, she is designed to be provocative in a variety of ways. Sexy, overly objectified according to some, allied with the contraversial Cerberus organisation, somewhat cold and ruthless (at least initially), very prominent in ME2 at the expense of ME1 characters (in the minds of some), etc.

Also, loving and hating the character are both built into the game itself, which is fairly rare among the squad members. You could say that the game promotes the character, which I think is definitely true, but the opposite point of view is also written into the game, via Jack and other, more minor characters, such as the merc on her loyalty mission ("I was waiting for you to finish getting dressed"), and so on.

So, it's working as intended. Personally I enjoy that somewhat contraversial aspect of the character.

I love Miri's character development. Miri's LM and my Romance with Miri are a main part of my Mass Effect story, not subplots.

ME2 serves as a Romantic Story for me as well. I find Love in ME2, with The Perfect Miss Lawson:wub:.

(I played ME2 first)

Great analysis flemm, however I think a lot of the hatred mostly comes from simply not giving the character time to develop or else failing to understand the changes she undergoes throughout the plot. I personally fell in love with the character after completing the loyalty mission and seeing her opening up to Shepard. Making him the second person she really ever cared about. If you instantly hate her you won't discover her true character and fail to appreicate the character development, which seems to be the norm among the common species of hater...

Also, isn't Miranda's LI one of the first, and thus, easiest to pursue? I think this also furthers your point in that she is being 'promoted' fairly easily to the gamer.

If miranda was not so conescending,Overzealous and frustrating to be around.i would be ok with her even when shes always dying on me in battle.her abilites could be great if her development was not so "linear".i can imagin the slam biotic being much more impressive if her skills were not genetically brewed

up tell that point, she is more overzealous then Lelianna about the marker.even after the fact she tells T.I.M shes done with cerberus.i cant believe that miranda will just walk away from them even after everything "cerberus:T.I.M" has done for her.

LOLNO it's called game balance dummy. They nerfed biotics so badly from ME 1 to 2 that biotics are no longer fun to use. Tech attacks are just as bad.

Also...you obviously suck at squad management, given that Miranda keeps dying on you. Miranda has only died on me thrice in all 25 of my playthroughs. Tali died at least thrice in every playthrough...

...and I only ever take her out on her LM. And give her a geth shotgun. Tali is just that much fail in battle.

I love Miranda's attitude. She is a beautiful, intelligent woman who can clearly take care of herself (I never have problems with her dying. When I play through she may only die once or twice and that's because of a lack of cover or just a quick bombardment of heavy ammo). At first she is cool and collected; rational and pragmatic. She remains unfazed by just about everything, except of course, by her past. Her mind is full of haunted memories, and in the rare situation they do bother her, it gives her that ultimate beauty in her character knowing that through her perfections she is still human. When she begins to open up to Shepard, we see the real woman behind the Cerberus Operative. Sultry, sexy, playful. In short, Miranda is the total package.

If Miri were to die I quickly bring her back. I always have her take cover beside me. Then we can kill enemies side by side:wub:!

Really shes the only one who actually keeps dying on me.tali always gets kill, along with Jack,Jacob and Kasumi.
its called leveling system.why hinder the abilites.might not as well have them Jack
i will give you that they nefed the hell out of the biotics, but if you read what i had posted you would have realized what i ment come on now.yes the tech has been bracked for advancement of typical combat.leaveing actually battle tatics in the dust.but we differ from miri

only mission she ever is boss on for me,is Shadowbroker

@d140

When she said that, I just went 'challenge accepted'. This beautiful brunette damsel is outta this galaxy. She don't need you, but she WANTS you. Now I'd take her over a whiny, idol-worshipper schoolgirl with a hormonal crush anyday.

I just saw Miranda's loyalty mission again on youtube and that moment where she cries after talking to Orianna and looks back to Shepard is overflowing with so much emotion , it is nearly unbelievable. This scene coupled with the 'hug' (final) scene makes me want to dare any other LI fanboy to find scenes like those that convey as much character and emotion as those scenes do.

Kudos to the writers! Although they could have done much better with the overall character progression, including Miranda's, they've created one hell of a character...

Everytime I go into battle I fight, more or less, just to protect her. That way, she never dies.

I'm sorry for the double post, I can't copy and paste very easily on my phone...
