It's hard to say whether or not she'll be with Cerberus in ME3, like you said, she'll probably go back to the illusive man...I'm looking forward to seeing her as an enemy in ME3, lolTigerblood and MilkShakes wrote...

well if they made her unnatractive then what was the point of her origin of being created with desirable traits ? Im curious.
She would have been more respectable and men would notice her Intelligence before her "beauty".and she wouldnt have had to been made really ugly just not as "perfect" as the base sees her to be

My deal is that they obviously made her to sell the game...sex appeal is a very powerful marketing tactic. Think about it. Would new gamers have bought the game if Jack or maybe Grunt were there instead of Miranda?Spanky Magoo wrote...

I've been wondering about that analogy. The metaphor doesn't appear to fit, because that would have meant her running away was misguided and she would be expected to "repent" at some time, puttiing Miranda's father in the right. I can't see that happening. It would also imply that she lived off her father's money after she ran away, but that could only have happened if she stole it, and I couldn't fault her for that. Apart from that, when she says "I threw away everything he ever game me when I ran", it doesn't seem exactly like she stole from him.LexieTheT-Rexy wrote...
Something that caught my eye while looking through the achievements a second ago...I noticed that Miranda is labeled 'The Prodigal'...and Niket says in her loyalty mission that she has been taking her father's money for years. I wonder why they named her that, unless BioWare had some sort of plan to follow the Parable of the Prodigal Son and ultimately have her reunite with her father; though that seems completely unlikely considering her severe hatred for the man.
I can't see Miranda's story follow any of the patterns of the parable. I wonder if some writer didn't know the meaning of the term and used the biblical analogy without looking it up. As I understand, it isn't exactly common, right? Perhaps it was just used as a term for "lost" - in some way Miranda is a lost daughter, as is Oriana.
Edit:
I've speculated about a reconciliation between Miranda and her father, but it doesn't seem likely. Even if Miranda was mistaken in some of her feelings about her childhood, the man sent mercenaries to capture his daughter away from her new family, and is apparently responsible for Miranda's underdeveloped self-esteem.

Yep. That's what I've been saying since (almost) day one of the first thread. Miranda needs her own game. I can imagine her story starting with her running away from her father, and then spending the game following trails and plots to uncover why exactly he had made her. And the plot would of course be bigger than just him and his desires, but involve some other people and organizations you'd never have heard of before - such as Cerberus....LexieTheT-Rexy wrote...
But I agree. Miranda has so many stories behind her that need to be resolved. Hell, BioWare could create a game just around her character for all the crap she has gotten into. XD
Heh...playing too much DX:HR at the moment. The parallels are striking. Set it in the ME universe, replace mechanical augmentations with genetic engineering, use Miranda's father's business empire instead of Sarif Industries give the proganonist a different role in the setup, and you're almost there.

Just saying that I did an analysis of the results of one of the big off-site polls made by XX55XX, and according to that one, Tali is more controversial than Miranda, though that may have something to do with the attitude of her fans in the days of the old Tali threads.flemm wrote...
Yes, well, she is designed to be provocative in a variety of ways. Sexy, overly objectified according to some, allied with the contraversial Cerberus organisation, somewhat cold and ruthless (at least initially), very prominent in ME2 at the expense of ME1 characters (in the minds of some), etc.primoULTIMO wrote...
It's quite interesting that she seems to be the most loved and hated character thoughout the bioware community; at least she gets the attention she deserves
Also, loving and hating the character are both built into the game itself, which is fairly rare among the squad members. You could say that the game promotes the character, which I think is definitely true, but the opposite point of view is also written into the game, via Jack and other, more minor characters, such as the merc on her loyalty mission ("I was waiting for you to finish getting dressed"), and so on.
So, it's working as intended. Personally I enjoy that somewhat contraversial aspect of the character.
As for the question if Miranda was pushed as an LI, I'd say yes. Yes, there are many controversial elements in her character as you said, on the other side there is the obvious fanservice and the "Ice Queen Melting" factor in the romance, and the fact she was the poster girl for ME2 and appeared in various trailers, unlike other characters. I think Bioware thought they needed to push her more to get people to like her in spite of her initial coldness towards Shepards and her association with Cerberus. Maybe they were right in that, but in my experience, those who were put off by Miranda's coldness and her association with Cerberus didn't change their mind so much as extend their hate to Miranda's fanservice elements.

Don't forget that we only know Miranda's side of the story. There is always the possibility that her father's true intentions were misunderstood or not very apparent to her at that point in time. I mean, why did he want to get Orianna back? Why didn't he just make a new 'clone' instead of wasting the time and money to find Orianna? In my personal experience playing her loyalty mission created more questions . So I wouldn't really write off a reconciliation.

Um, well eventually I'm going to have to make that choice, and rejecting either is unthinkable. I may be cool on the romance, but I'm still half-besotted with Miranda herself.

Silicone sculpture? They already had that in the form of tali. 'Sides, Miranda doesn't have silicone. She's real (once you've seen a silicone girl, you've seen em all).
Add that to the fact you posted a pic of a crossdresser and voiced your opinion that 'she' was prettier than Miranda due to a saddening lack of knowledge...let's just say that your judgement of the female form is severely lacking in discretion.
Learn, my boy. Learn.

Not so. Theoretically, Miranda could've been honestly mistaken. Though that would make her stupid or oversensitive - which she clearly isn't, so that won't happen. I also don't think Bioware will introduce a twist big enough for a complete reinterpretation of her character, especially if that made her unlikeable even for those who like her now. Miranda as a Cerberus loyalist in ME3 would be easier to take than this level of deception.jtav wrote...
The problem with redeeming Miranda's father is that, as long as he's abusive, Miranda is a heroic figure who used any means to spare her sister that abuse. If he wasn't, she kidnapped a child away from her father and manipulated you into helping. It would simply switch who I wanted to kill.

I can see her being an enemy but then of course when the 1v1 fight comes along and they get talking, you either fight and kill her, or boost her confidence and convince her to leave Cerberus again.
