Basic math/biology question. If Miranda is 75, approximately how old should she appear? In other words, when did her slower aging kick in?

Sorry for the double post.

She was born in 2150. ME2 set in 2185, she's 35.

Her aging is slowed since birth (I believe). Many women in 35 show small hints of aging, while Miranda looks fresh in her early twenties. When she is 75, she'll be in her late 30's. (37.5 specifically)

Miranda is only 1 of 2 LI's I have in any of my play throughts. I support this thread and am happy to hear that Miranda will have a large roll in ME3. I always kinda dug her even if I didn't romance her. I only ever "cheated" on Ash with Miranda and can't wait to see how that turns out, should be interesting. A knock down drag out fight between the two female powerhouses of the Me universe is something I really want to see.

I did the same thing in ME1. Romanced Ashley, then Miranda. To say the least, I'm ready for the tension if she ever boards the Normandy with Ashley on board.

One of the things I've noticed about these boards since I started lurking/posting here is that is skews heavily toward ME1 for a variety of reasons. Miranda is the only ME2 character who registers alongside the ME1 characters as far as attention/popularity is concerned (around here).

But, as always, forums like these give a warped view of reality. ME2 was the more popular game, with a wider audience and, for a lot of those people, seeing the ME2 characters again is going to mean a lot. So I don't see those characters getting neglected, especially not Miranda, who was the lead NPC of that game and most used squad member.

I guess I might end up eating some crow, but I expect Miranda to have a big role. Exception might be if Yvonne doesn't want to/can't spend a lot of time on the voicework.

Or maybe I'm just feeling optimistic right now

Well, Mike Gamble said she'll have a large role. I take that with a grain of salt, but I am reasonably optimistic as well.

And yes, opinion on these forums are slanted heavily towards ME1, an unfortunate consequence of the presence of a great number of old fans. Some people have never warmed up to the ME2 team.

I actually like the ME2 team better than the ME1 team. ME2 has so much more diversity <3

Yeah, that's obviously one of the reasons.

Overall the character development is stronger in ME2 imo, but I do think there is some truth to the idea that the devs tried to squeeze too many new characters into the game. You don't get to spend a lot of time with many of them on an average play-through.

Some of them also feel a little... cluttered or jumbled, I guess you could say. I was thinking that the other day with regard to Thane. There's the assassin stuff, the polytheism, the "perfect memory" angle, exposition regarding the Drell. It's like somebody got a little carried away in trying to make him awesome.

Anyway, Miranda is obviously an exception where the ME2 characters are concerned.

Re: romance tension, I do believe Casey Hudson and perhaps others have talked about wanting to play the ME1 and ME2 love interests off of one another in ME3. So, logically Miranda would be a big part of that.

That is one of the problems ME1 fans have with ME2. Diversity.
Hopefully Miranda will be a permanent squaddie in ME3. And Jack too.
When i think about it... Miranda and Jack are quite similar to Ashley and Liara.
I mean:
Jack and Liara are both shy and hard to relate to.
Miranda and Ashley are both professional and easy to relate to.
M/A both have dark hair. Though hopefully this doesn´t apply to Miranda in ME3... "wink, wink".
...
I think i should continue this topic in a new thread...

Don't ever compare those two ever again please. Jack isn't shy, she's just pissed off and used to being alone. Some aspects of her personality are also not hard to relate to. As for the diversity in ME2 it made it pointless to try and make a connection to characters unless you were romancing them, that's not how the relationships should've have worked in ME2. If ME3 dials down the number of squadmates to around 6 that would be great for the relatioonship developments in ME3.

There is nothing great in favoring only half of the fanbases. Every characters, especially the LI, deserve have a significant character/relationship development in ME3, not just 6.

Another manip a-la moi. Indulged in a more brunette aspect to her hair (though, like I've stated before, I like to pretend she has black hair. XD)

And the more characters BioWare has to include the less likely that'll happen. I was just guessing anyway. From my experience with ME1 less characters seem to yield better relationships for the player.

I don't agree. I don't find the relationships better in ME1.
And the number of squadmates is a poor escuse. More characters only mean more dialogues and more complex scripts, that's all. If they don't want to make this effort to satisfy all the fanbases, then ME3 is not worth it to me.

Her hair is a darker chestnut color, but still considerably brown. It's just rendering and lighting that makes her hair look black.

As far as I know they are trying to satisfy everyone. I just think having everyone as a permanent squad member would be detrimental to that goal and I guess BioWare realized that as well since squadmates are now temporary.

Well, yeah, they're not going to have everyone on the squad all the time, that's a given. In fact, I guess no one will be on the squad all the time.

I would expect that, with the possible exception of the DLC characters, all past squadmates will have at least one heavily scripted mission where the storyline of that character is resolved in a (hopefully) satisfying manner.

Makes some sense if BioWare does it like that. Sometimes I feel that some of the characters don't actually need a resolution. Jack and Thane come to mind. How important can they be to the war effort going on in Mass Effect 3 that their story arc can be resolved properly?

Some of the characters would need more leverage than others to place them in key roles. But look at Liara. Suddenly she's the Shadow Broker, and it only took a mission or two. It looks like Kaidan/Ashley will be Spectres. So, this kind of thing isn't hard to do.

With Thane, for example, there's no obvious war-related story hook, but a mission on the Drell/Hanar homeworld could easily bring him into the picture, along with his son.

Hmmm.....very beautiful. I am tempted to imagine an occasion where she looks like this... and yes, I, too, prefer to think she has black hair.

I just checked out that blonde Miranda group in your sig and it made me realize that the whole blonde femshep re-vote would have been avoided if there was a badass blonde character in ME2 already. Miranda looked alright with the blonde hair but it kind of clashes with her suit's color scheme.
