If Shepard cheated on both Miranda and Ashley, I could see this going down:

Shepard *breaking up a verbal catfight*: Ladies, ladies! Calm down!

Miranda: Oh so you expect us to CALM DOWN? You were the cause of this!

Ashley: Yeah. You two timing b********.

Miranda. Wait...why are we even arguing over this ****? He's the one who played us both! We didn't even know that he was cheating on the both of us!

Shepard: Hey...

Ashley: Good point...why are we even arguing over this SOB? He's the one who's in the wrong here!

Miranda: Exactly! Why don't we go catch a movie afterwards? I heard Blasto Saves Christmas is amazing.

Ashley: Sure thing sister! How 'bout dinner after that?

Miranda: Make it a candlelit dinner at the Presidum and it's a date.

Shepard: WHAT?!

Ashley *walks off*: See you later Miranda!

Miranda *walks off*: Don't stand me up, Williams!

Shepard *sees Jacob and Garrus nearby laughing at his predicament*: I cannot believe that just happened.

Miranda: Heh. Looks like we've successfully punished Shepard. Great acting on the catfight Ashley.

Ashley: Well thanks. You did awesome too.

Miranda: So...do you have anymore ideas on how to punish that cheating ****?

Ashley: How bout us openly flirting right in his face?

Miranda: I like that. A lot.

I kinda miss the ME1 Shepard, who at least somewhat knew where and who's side he belonged to. I hope he returns in ME3 in some degree, maybe Miri has made him see in a new way.

About the catfights, as I've probably said before, I am not too keen on seeing them. I'd looove to see all the people who go ''WAAGH I WANT DESE VIRTUAL LADIES TO FIGHT OVER MEEEEEH!!!'' face the scenario, that Joseph posted or just one side not giving the player the satisfaction of seeing them care.

Fortunately, I only have Miri on my playthroughs, so I won't be seeing any catfights (hopefully). I love good female mudwrestling, but that's about it.

I am kinda hoping for at least few more action scenes where they show squadmates ( read: Miranda) doing something that fits their character's style. I mean at least few scenes, which aren't pretty much copypasted for every single squaddie.

Showing Miri being somewhat in control, in the relationship department, would be a huge plus for me as well. I could see her even enjoying it.

Me neither. I'd like to see some of the romance interests interact with each other (especially Ashley-Miranda and Liara-Miranda), but about other stuff mostly, not fighting over Shepard.

For example. I would rather Miranda and Ashley disagree over Alliance and Cerberus connections than about Shepard. Where Liara is concerned, I'd like to see her collaborate with Miranda to deal with Shepard's deteriorating condition due to the aftermath of the Lazarus project. Something along those lines.

Would be awesome. It's another point on which LotSB may be somewhat instructive. I'm hoping there's at least one big mission in the game where Miranda takes the lead role and has a few scenes such as you are describing.

I hope they avoid portraying Miranda as mainly the ME2 fling that causes a bit of tension with Liara/Ashley and is then brushed aside. It's ok if that option is in the game, but the opposite should also be there.
Anyway, the more Miranda is in control, the more I am likely to approve

I wasn't responding directly to the dialogue at all, and I doubt Melrache was either. The question has been raised in a number of different ways recently in the thread. But, as an attentive reader yourself, you probably know that, right?

Compare this to resolving the 'cheating' and it just doesn't seem worth it to prolong that to more than just a cut scene where you choose whom you want to stay with...

I don't really want there to be a catfight. Miranda and Ash are intellegent, rational people to have them fight over Shepard just so that the game can wave it's metaphorical hands and go "See! Your choices in the past to games had consequences! Isn't that neat?" isn't good writing, it just diminishes both characters.

What I'd like to have is the option for Shepard to explain his actons and go on from there. With Liara things are more-or-less hashed out from LoTSB. On the subject of the VS there sort of needs to be the whole explanation of what happened with the Lazarus Project and the suicide misson, after that is done then the decision about what happens with the relationship can move forward.

Shepard: So what do you think I should do?

Garrus: Well first I think that you should let me calibrate this damn cannon. The second thing I think you should do is talk to someone who's an expert on this touchy-feely stuff. Preferably someone who didn't get their psych degree from the University of Obvious.

Heya all,

I can't really think of a better place to post this, but I feel I owe it to my readers to give an update of sorts about the status of my fanfic Degrees of Inheritance since I've been getting a slew of people asking when I'd update the next part.

Chapter 6, which is the penultimate chapter, is a monster. It will definitely be more than 30k words, of which I have 20k written so far. Unfortunately, I've been blackmailed into going overseas for the next two weeks or so and it's not likely I can get any writing done during that time. I'll still try my best though, but much apologies for the delay. It does look like the earliest date I can release is early October, but I promise the chapter will be chokeful of plot and character development you'll forget about the wait. It is the homerun, after which Chapter 7 will wrap everything up.

Thanks for being so patient and I return you to your regular programming.

Wait a minute, Ash yells at you and calls you a traitor on Horizon, so in a way, it was HER fault we cheated to go hook up with Miranda, so its all fair game.
Anyways, I have a couple playthroughs where I cheated on Ash for Miri, been faithful to Ash, and one where I don't go for anyone except Miri, so I can see what will happen in those terms in ME3.
