Well, like I say, I understand how easy it is to be gloomy from where we sit at the moment. But there are, actually, I think, a couple of good reasons why the devs might want to be coy for the moment. One is just not revealing everything at once. Look at new squad members. There will be more than one, but only Vega has received any attention yet. Just a question of leaving more news and updates for later on.

Also, there will probably be at least one returning and one new squad member that don't get officially revealed prior to the game's release (Garrus and Legion in ME2). Yes, I believe there were leaks in that case, but anyway, these were supposed to be surprises. Miranda is actually, I think, by far the best candidate among returning squad members for that sort of thing in ME3. So, anyway...

To be perfectly honest, she's the idea temp. She won't be the lead female again, so there's really nowhere to go but down. At least she could graduate to faction leader or something.

Not confirmed no, but it looks that way; it was a question posed to Mike Gameble during the Gamescom Q&A

He said that they might not be squadmates but they will appear...and also that their roles are 'more than you think'

Miranda would be one of the worse candidates to be a temp or cameo, in my mind, actually.

Well, I think it would depend on what "temp" actually amounted to. A cameo certainly wouldn't suffice, but I don't think that is a real concern at this point. If Miranda comes and goes a bit from the squad because she has business elsewhere, that could potentially be good.

Just saw pictures of Kimberly Brooks... the voice actor for Ashley Williams... needed to come back here and take in the beauty.

BTW I really like the pic I posted on the last page... I think it was incredible... and with the way she is dressed I totally vote she get a role on Game of Thrones on HBO.

I've been away from this thread for a couple of days, but something has been on my mind recently about Miranda:

I've been thinking about her childhood and orgin.Her upbringing and philosophy in life or of life.And I think there is some real potential here for BioWare to explore in Mass Effect 3.

Spirituality and Religion is clearly a dangerous topic to get into around these parts.What with all the threads about such things getting locked. :P

And I'm not trying to bring such a discussion into this thread, but I have to say this:

Children ask a million questions at a certain stage of their development.We know that Grunt and Miranda both are very unsettled by how they came into the world.From what they say to Shepard.

Commander Shepard even sort of says that Miranda has low self esteem, on account of it.When I put myself in Miranda's shoes, i can't help but think and see visions of what her time with her father must have been like.

I could so see Miranda's father saying stuff like this to her:

- I am your creator.There is no God.

- I brought you into this world.I can take you out of it.

- You are not human...  :? Humans have a mother and father.


This is the sort of emotional abuse that i believe her father subjected her to, when she disappointed him.How did hearing all this affect her? We know that she is a strong, beautiful, intelligent and independant woman.But there must have been nights where she cried herself to sleep. And perhaps instead of having a superiority complex on account of her abilities.Struggled for a time with an inferiority complex. :crying:

1. I can see her wondering if there is such a thing as a God?

2. And if there is a God, does it veiw her as an abomination? 

3. I can see her going as far as wondering does she even have a soul?

We know that Miranda is still struggling with making peace with her past.In 2185 she is 35 years old, but it still is a sore spot.Shepard even comments on how she keeps "coming back to her fathers gentic tailoring of her".

I think with Operative Lawson, there is alot of good material that BioWare can explore... Whatever they decide to do with her in ME3.I hope that she get's a level of screen time that she well deserves ^_^

Do you know how many without DLC (no Zaeed or anything) ?

That's certainly my gut reaction. I'm somewhat open to the possibility of the writers getting creative with her role in the story so that she appears a lot but isn't on the squad much. But it would have to be pretty awesome to compensate.
