"Stop smilling dammit" is the only line that makes me regret to not play the renegade path of the romance. For everything else I prefer the Paragon one.

Too bad Mark Meer voice acting is horrible during the romance scenes (fortunately, Yvonne's one is perfect)

Yeah. Yvonne does a perfect job in anything she takes part of:wub:.

Wait.

ME2 had over 25k lines, but with DLC's it hits almost 40k?
That's not possible.
ME2 DLC's didn't had that much content.

Anyhow, what's your guy's favorite Miranda quote/moment?

A few off the top of my head...

-When she shoots the guy at the beginning, and the dialogue afterward.
-The "Take ya pick" scene where she explains some of the many ways she can kill stuff.
-Killing Niket and then slamming the asari mercenary woman.
-Emotional scene with Oriana.
-"Nighty night!" and "On the floor! (Useful in combat and in engine rooms)
-Miranda and Jack threatening each other.
-The wink.

I like the quotes from her trailer.

"I don't have patience for incompetence or recklessness or heroes."

"This mission might seen insane, and the odds of survival might be low. But I will achieve success. Because of this screw or in spite of them".

"I'll follow Shepard's orders. I'll follow him into battle. But he'll have to fight to earn my trust."

Commander Shepard:
Reckless? Check
Hero? Check.
Incompetence? Well, he gets the job done...with an insane amount of luck. And Miranda as second-in-command.

Not for the first time, I resent the parts of Shepard the game defines for me.

Anyway I disagree: I think that line was intended as a lead-in to the romance and can be interpreted as a general comment only by accident.

Well, obviously, from the dev's POV that line is the lead-in to the romance. However, looking at it from Shepard's POV, I think he was not trying to flirt with Miranda when he said. He even seems a bit surprised by what Miranda says afterwards. "You wouldn't, hun".
The line can be interpreted both ways. Personally, I  roleplay it as a completely innocent and well intentioned comment by my Shepard who was trying to make Miranda feel better. The time doesn't really seem appropriate for Shepard to flirt, anyway and I was glad that Miranda is the one who makes the first move.

Obviously the subtle approach didn't work and, hey, we need new discussion.

Suppose Miranda had been conceived as a male character with the same basic concept. Do you think you'd like him as much? What would change and what would stay the same?

The game doesn't define what type of hero Shepard is. I think Miranda was referring more to the Shepards who let Balak go, for example.

Well, I would post a lot more in the Same-sex romance thread.

Ashley: You traded me for a guy? I never tought you were into those things, Skipper.
Shepard: Usually, I'm not. It's just...him. There's something about him.

My favorite Miranda moments :

- When she kills Wilson and the conversation just after
- Loyalty mission : the scene with Nicket, and the one with her sister
- The conversation about her sister after the LM
- Romance : the "promise" scene (my favorite)
- "I gave you an order Miranda !" [music stops] "I noticed, consider this my resignation"
- "Stop smilling dammit" (even if I never heard this line in my games)
- "On this ship we follow orders"

(and many other moments because I like almost all of them)

Well, you have the dialogue that made it into the game for both male and female Shepards, the cut dialogue, the combat dialogue for the unique enemies in Shadow Broker and Arrival, and the cinematic dialogue from other characters.

I don't think it's that much of a stretch.

I'd have to say my favorite quote from her is "Then consider this my resignation."

Unpopular, maybe, but it shows that she's come a long way with Shepard.

There already is a male Miranda Lawson. His name is Adam Jensen, minus the cybernetic augmentations and the player dependent personality.

Image IPB

He wouldn't be my bro. He'd be too badass and as a rule no one can be more badass than the player character.

MisterJB, was that an intentional Torchwood quote?

As I said, I'd like "Mark" more I think. Much of what I like in her is what I like in my romance heroes and much of what I dislike are problems that mostly affect female characters (the dropping of science for fashion, etc)

Edit: So THAT explains why I like Adam so much.

No matter how awesome Male version of Miri would be, I'd not go M/M. Just not my thing, F/F I can do (surprise!), but not the other one.

I am just not wired dat way.

I don't really have any favorite quotes from Miri, I like all of them, I guess it's more about the voice acting and the voice not the lines. Same goes for Claudia Black, love her VAing and voice, but just not her characters (usually).

Miri however has everything right, except well the scan could've gone better, but it doesn't bother me that much.

I don't like the resignation, but I can live with it for the sake of the more Paragon Mirimancers out there. The line I really, really hate is "Using anything from this base feels lilke a betrayal". Fortunately, I never hear it in my games.

And yeah, Xil, no surprise here. I am wondering about your consistency though, with you arguing Paragon in ME2 and then going all for "mages, the new master race" in DA2.

I would like him, but perhaps not quite as much because he wouldn't be as unique as Miranda. I would likely appreciate a romance, though, because I like to play femSheps and don't want to play same-sex romances.

BTW; Adam Jensen can indeed be played that way and has some interesting characteristics including some unique genetic traits. I like him very much (in fact, playing DXHR atm).

Who is this "Mark" you were speaking of?

BTW: My dream: a game with gameplay like DX:HR, set in the ME universe with Miranda as a protagonist, and a story featuring similar themes as DXHR only with genetic engineering.

Sorry "Mark" was my name for a genderflipped version. Certainly it would be easier to romance him. I feel like Miranda's romance is very much geared to men and I'm out in the cold.

@Melrache: I thought you were female, but then I just clicked on your "Profile" And after what I saw there - this is what came to my mind:

"Oh your a male. That explains some things then..."  <_<

Wow now that is actually offensive. Saying that its okay because someone is male. Real classy right there.

First of all as far as comics go people have different tastes. I love Calvin and Hobbes but my G/F hates it.

Secondly my G/F is beautifull with a big bust and she is getting her PhD in Paychology. Her bust has nothing to do with her brilliant mind. Yet she understands why some women prefer to have bigger busts. Whether or not its the media that throws so much emphasis on the subject is irrelevant if it makes someone happy.

Dont speak for all women. The idea that a woman is complete and beautifull is some tribes in the amazon and africa usually revolves around large breast and extra weight. This indicates that your argument against a large bust is an argument against nature it self. Men having a strong sex drive and focusing on certain things is not exactly a detrement. If it wasnt for a strong sexdrive in males most species on our planet would have been already dead.

Example: Black Widow spiders and Praying Mantises... the females eat the males after mating. That is one heck of a sex drive. I would totally be abstinant for the rest of my life if that is what humans did. Then again I cant accurately say so because we dont do that. However my mindset is rather set on the fact that I dont want to be anyone's post-coitus' snack. However that a good example of a sexdrive saving the species.

I put the comic up as an example of Joker's drive to want to be with Miranda. I also fight actively against stereotypes against men. I will drop the fact that fememnism to that degree is insensetive to the needs of men, when TV and Movies stop depicting that a woman can wrong a man in any way shape and form and he will end up forgiving her and taking her back. Even the best of us do not forgive people for certain indiscretions.

And you wonder why we die younger. Image IPB I usually try to fing the most artistic drawings and photos to show of much more than just a body. I really like to show that there are incredible artists out there with great talent and the one time I toss up a comic just to answer a quick question someone asked me ends up being the time I get chewed out for it.
