I was not thinking of anything else when I wrote it. Not quite sure what you're getting at, but I can only think of one very cheap attempt in the early 1980s. The scene I envision combines the romantic with the epic and since this is a video game, is not as limited by the lack of special effects technology.

What were you thinking of? BTW, I'm not well-versed in sci-fi on TV. It's usually not to my taste. Watched a couple of B5 episodes and some Firefly, but that's about it.

Now I remember!
It was an episode of the show: Defying Gravity; There was a couple that made love just as you described it.  The guy had to leave the station (and his wife/fiancee) to go back to Earth so they decided to make the last night special.

Defying Gravity? How appropriate, LOL. But I didn't even know there was a show by that name.

Anyway I don't care if it's been done before. Everything in the ME games has been done before on some medium. Often, even. The games are so full of tropes that one would think the developers intentionally scanned their scenes in order to see where yet another could be put in.

@jtav: I can see her wearing such things; but now my mind is wandering to her wearing that and being at a party while secretly on a assasination mission to take out a high value political target for TIM

I can see her assassinating someone, but she's going to a charity auction as the "date" of someone she's got an unrequited crush on so they feel more comfortable. Never let it be said I don't do romance.

I can see that just as well. I only don't see why that should be a problem. Assassination is a much more economical way of settling political differences than war. :P

I didn't originally romance miri, but I dif through one of my playthroughs. I did fall for her. She is cocky but has some good depth to her.

I want my cheerleader.

Seriously it would be odd that so many ME1 characters returns in ME3 and not even one of main characters of ME2. I consider Miranda one of main character in ME2. I liked her most in ME2. Yeah, she was cocky, but she did have reasons to be too.

@Ieldra2 hey I really like your ideas regarding Miranda. Have you made your wishes known to devs by the way like on twitter or something? They're really good! :)

@Lux: a bit OT, but how's the latest chapter of Fight For The Lost coming along - you're up to Tali's trial/loyalty mission right?

It's almost done. I estimate within the week. Real life either gave me tons of time to do work on it, or none at all. Strange.

We haven't done this lately, so how do your Shepards get on with Miranda?

Jack (Spacer Ruthless): Dislikes her, and not in a sexually charged way. He's a Renegon but Paragon in the big thing and doesn't buy what she says about Cerberus for a second. They're fore and ice and he was entirely too busy choosing between Jack, Ashley, and Kelly to notice her sexually. Sided against her and persuaded her loyalty back because I'm a sap.

Rachel (Earthborn Sole Survivor): Why did she have to fall in love with the straight Cerberus cheerleader? But Miranda's intelligence and cold confidence awaken something in her. She's aware Miranda thinks she's too uncouth and temperamental so she tries to do better and please her. It's a mixed blessing because she's stopped punching reporters but she defers to Miranda even when it gets people killed. And Miranda has no idea how she feels.

Matt (Colonist/Sole Survivor): Miranda is the one great love of his life. They disagree frequently professionally, but both know the other is capable. Personally, she's a beautiful and brilliant woman who saved him after he had a nervous breakdown on Tuchanka. Only, he always loses what he loves. Turned her down for sex because he was afraid to jinx it.

Thank you :)

I have with the MIranda plot points I'd like to see resolved. But it's hard to do it on Twitter with a message max length of 127 characters, and I don't know to whom to post it for best effect unless someone asked like Mac Walters yesterday.

@Vertigo_1:
You appear to be more aware of what's going on on Twitter than I am. If you agree with my points from the previous page and find a place to tweet them to the devs, feel free to do so.

Yeah I did last night when it went up (before you put your list up):

I put down as plots to be resolved in ME3:
  • The issue of her infertility
  • Some way to pass on her gifts
  • Issue with her father
  • Coming to terms with who she is
If you want I can reply with more.

Yeah I too tweeted mac walters yesterday when he asked what plots we would like to be resolved. I pretty much requested what Vertigo did. And sure I'll tweet the other devs some of your great ideas. Also keep trying on twitter though, don't be discouraged. If you've reached 127 characters, send a second tweet, but make sure to state in the previous one that you plan to continue the tweet, like typing (cont). Posted Image

Rani Shepard (Earthborn / Sole Survivor, Paragade) and Miranda have a rapport that borders on telepathy. They don't agree on a couple of things, but each appears to know often what the other is thinking, making for seamless co-operation in battle and conversations so laconic others find them completely incomprehensible. Their relationship is completely non-sexual but otherwise as close as any couple's could be. Rani initially expected to come to blows with Miranda over Akuze, but was surprised to learn that Miranda follows Mordin in this, finding that kind of "research" crude and inelegant.

Cyrus Shepard (Spacer / Sole Survivor, Neutral) loves Miranda but was slow to follow-up on it because he didn't know much of it was love and how much his transhumanist's appreciation of Miranda's genetic improvements. So he was a little relieved when they decided to postpone the romance (at this time headcanon only - I'll replay him that way if the romance turns out to continue after saying "damn it, you're right") but it appears more and more clear to him that there won't be any other for him. Cyrus and Miranda, both having an operative's background, enjoy debating the intricacies of operations and he likes having someone around intelligent and experienced enough to understand him without a lot of explaining, and vice versa. They also share a love of chocolate, stylish clothing, good food and classical music. Cyrus and Miranda promised each other to not sacrifice the mission for the other if the galaxy is at stake (my fanfic "A Promise of Love and Death"). and they were extremely surprised to discover they already met many years ago on a covert operation, both using different identities at the time (My (unfinished) fanfic "Masks and Mirrors").

The other things I mentioned aren't actually plot points to be resolved, but should you find an appropriate place to tweet them, go for it.

Luis (my actual first name) Shepard- Spacer/War Hero:  I love Miri so ver much<3<3<3<3

At fist We do not trust each other. Due to past conflicts against Cerberus (ME1). Though his is grateful that she saved him. Through time we start to be a little more open to each other. Miri was hesitant, but she explained a bit of her past and why she's part of such an organization.
When she asks me to aide her to save her only sister. I do not hesitate to help. When we were successful to ensure Oriana's safety, I confinced Miri to speak to her sister for the time. And I started to see a side of Miri I have never seen before. She showed a very acceptional amount of gratitude towards for doing so much to save her sister. I was starting to feel a strong strong connection between us. Later on, she apologizes for not trusting me. She start to open up with more soothing emotion. She tells me that she takes credit for all her mistake, and that being perfect wasn't enough. I finally expressed my feelings, telling her how I admire her body and her mind, and that she should be proud of what she has down with her perfection. I romantic connection begins, though she is cautious, but still interested. After the crew is abducted, before heading to the galactic core, Miri confesses not knowing whether is stress or blowing off steam. I tell her that there are obvious feelings between us. But she believes that now is not a good time for romance, and that the chances of surviving were slim to none. She wonders why hormones thought that this, this very monent of our lives was agreat time for love. I told her that what matters is our feelings for each other. She tells me to promise her that I will die, that I will not leave her. (I'm not sure which is better, the promise or the hug?). Our growing love between us culminates. And we express our love, a love we couldn't resist any further, in the engine room. We survive miraculously. We continue to love one another afterwards.

God I hope it continues and developes even further in ME3<3<3<3<3

I'd love to see her relationship with Oriana blossom in ME3.  Also, interested in seeing how her fractured relationship with TIM plays out.

Did any of you ask Casey about Miranda. Just ask him if she is playable to any level. That won't be much of a spoiler and he might answer. I asked him about showing tali's face and got an answer close to a yes :)

I'm the same. IMDB isn't always reliable in my experience.

Yeah.
But at least it's not marked as a rumor on the site, so I'm optimistic : I'm sure there will be a confirmation soon.
She's in Australia again, but she spent 2 weeks in LA, early june, maybe she has already recorded her lines :P

I'd like to see Shepard show a more vulnerable side with his Love Interest.

Me too. I liked the fact that Miranda open herself to Shepard at the end of ME2, but I was frustrated that Shepard can't do the same.

Alice (Earthborn/Sole Survivor): Was perfectly ready to kill Miranda (and Jacob) when she first found out what Lazarus station really was.  Begrudgingly accepted her help at the beginning of the mission, slowly came to respect her capabilities, and eventually came to see her as a person rather than a representative of Cerberus.

"Damnit, Miranda... you were a lot easier to hate before I got to know you."

Now they get along well.  Not quite a 'friendship' in the traditional sense, but mutual respect, trust, and a little bit of admiration on both sides.

Massimo Shepard -
Spacer, War Hero.

He couldn't quite work out Miranda in the beginning. She was tough, blunt whenever he tried to engage in conversation. She gave away nothing, no matter how hard he tried to get through, learn more about her. He knew she had some kind of defence mechinism, which was pretty damn good at pushing people away, however, he knew that at some point that defence mechinism would temporarily break. Massimo was determined to wait, no matter how long it took so that he could see the person inside of that shell.

He was right. When he helped Miranda with her sister, he saw everything he needed to see, he finally understood. He felt something, and from then on he just fell utterly in love with her. He knew the mission should come first, it was so important but so was Miranda. He grew to care about her a great deal and she would always come first in his eyes.

@SoulfulStarfish:
It's our interpretation but I dislike the implication that her initial distance is a "defence mechanism". Some people just aren't the type to show their true personalities to just anyone, and that's not in any way a bad thing. Being open is not, in and by itself, a virtue. I very much appreciate that in Miranda. She only shows her true personality to those she trusts. Shepard becomes one of those she trusts and should be honored to become one of those instead of inflating his ego by thinking he's broken her reserve.
